Did Janet Jackson cancel European tour dates because of paltry ticket sales?
Janet Jackson postponed several European tour dates because poor ticket sales meant she was "about to badly flop", according to reports. The singer announced this week that she would be postponing all her UK and Ireland dates of her Unbreakable World Tour, along with some concerts in mainland Europe.
However, the news that ticket holders were being given refunds led to the assumption the shows have been cancelled rather than just rescheduled. Following Janet's announcement, many fans were left worrying about her health, as the singer underwent throat surgery in January. But a new report claims poor ticket sales were to blame for the date cancellations.
“She was about to flop, badly," a source told the New York Post's Page Six gossip column. "When an artist cancels an entire leg or postpones pieces of the tour, the real reason is because they’re not selling. It’s better to cancel than play a room that’s half-filled, especially if you’re Janet Jackson.”

"Half-filled" would be exceeding expectations for Janet Jackson.

Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Meanwhile, Madonna played to over 400,000 with 27 dates for an avg of 16,000 per show. FULL shows. Sold out.
Janet, the local act. Nepo baby.

Half filled? She's moving up from 1/17 filled.

At least we've got it in writing this time. Flop. Isn't that what Janbot spends all her time saying about Madonna?

R6 Yes, Janbot loves to post hit articles. Well, here ya go, cunt.

Let's be honest - all Janet Jackson tours finish this way. With "throat cancer" or "using a surrogate" or whatever tired old lie she uses.
And it's because she can't sell tickets. People aren't interested in paedophile defenders in 2024.

R8 Why does the media not call her out about the throat cancer lie? Her tours have struggled for over two decades. Nobody wants to see her. Same with Mariah who was never a concert draw. Mariah is Whitney-lite. Boring asf too.

Poor Jabba is licking its FUPA in embarrassment.

At least the linked article is calling her out on why she has to cancel her concerts R9.
"When an artist cancels an entire leg or postpones pieces of the tour, the real reason is because they’re not selling. It’s better to cancel than play a room that’s half-filled".
The real reason is that she isn't selling tickets. Now we know for sure.

Then why didn't she cancel that humiliation of a Las Vegas residency? She clearly wasn't selling jack shit. Every afternoon we'd post the Ticketmaster page of that evening's show and rub it in fat Jabba's face how many seats were still unsold, but the rotund gorilla would never admit what a flop Janet was.
Good times.

Janbot was so sure Madonna was going to fail with her latest tour and it has been a decisive success financially and critically. She is set to announce a tour extension into Nov.

OP - this 'news' is from March, 2016. There is no news today that she's cancelling or postponing anything.

Nothing to brag about when you consider the size of the audiences Beyonce and Taylor Swift played to a few months ago.

This is so embarrassing for Janbot. Everything he says about Madonna is actually true about Jackson. Notice the silence?

Janet is on tour??? Hahahhahahaha where?

Madonna fans are so sad. They're actually bragging about a broke down oldies act. Ladies, 1985 was 40 years ago.

Meanwhile, in present day news, not 2016 as OP's article is from..
According to a press release, Jackson's new set of dates, which "builds on the success of the 2023 run" and became her "highest selling trek of her career which featured 36 sold out shows."

Rose, she cancelled it because she knew it would be too much of a success.

Those shows were not sold out. That's some lazy People magazine intern parroting a press release for Flabba herself while texting with her friends.

The tour will be cancelled soon R22. As with all Janet Jackson tours and we know why - because she is unable to sell tickets.
