Their latest reunion tour has been bloody fantastic. Jarvis is such a wonderful performer.
Anyone here ever met Jarvis Cocker of Pulp or worked with him? or his band Pulp?

His Sunday Service after David Bowie passed was great. He’s a good performer.

Don’t mention him to Michael Jackson’s army of loonies. This was hilarious, but Michael Jackson was so far up his own arse he made up a story that children were hurt in the incident.

Pulp’s best song, in my opinion.
Help The Aged was a charity set up to address poverty, abuse and loneliness among older people. It is now known as Age Concern.

He sang a beautiful and unconventional cover of I’m Still Here in Six by Sondheim, directed by Todd Haynes.
Brilliant in all kinds of ways.

I didn't realize they were touring - I just checked the NY dates and they're pretty much sold out. Loved this band since the late 90s.

R6 I love This Is Hard-core, too.
R7 Help the Aged is great
I used to go to karaoke regularly and believe it or not I've found both of these Pulp classics available. It's quite interesting to stand in front of an unexpecting audience and sing about filming a porno or fucking the elderly. Good memories.

R5, I has completely forgotten about that. I cannot understand how he was detained by police and held for hours over the commission of "assault", when all he did was mock that ridiculous, hopelessly self-absorbed and delusional freak. In fact, his actions were quite comical and I've even laughed at them.
With that said, I have never been able to get into his music nor Pulp's their particular brand of hyper-polished alternative light rock, as I find both Pulp and his solo records to be insanely boring.

R6 - LOVE that song. I actually won a karaoke contest singing This is Hardcore. I was shocked to find it on the playlist at a random bar in San Diego.
OP, dammit, you prompted me to look up their tour dates. They'd never play a show in bumfuck Florida where I live, but then I saw that they'll be playing Toronto and NY exactly one week before I'm scheduled to visit both cities! Ughhhh!

I'm pretty excited for the tour - I'll be seeing them in Brooklyn! Hope they do this one, it makes me mental...

R14 - so jealous! Report back on the show, will ya?

Pulp should have been a million times bigger than boorish frauds Oasis

They're playing Forest Hills in September. Great live band.
