Michael, Thelma, and JJ Evans 50 years later

Jimmie Walker is dressed very nicely (even though he's a Repug).

BernNadette Stanis is absolutely lovely.

Ralph Carter is like an '80s action figure from a box of cereal.

Thelma looks amazing!

by Anonymousreply 1January 21, 2024 1:56 AM

I had such a crush on Ralph Carter as a kid. Time wasn’t kind but then I don’t look so great either 50 years on

BernNadette Stanis must have a painting in the attic. She looks amazing

by Anonymousreply 2January 21, 2024 1:57 AM

R2, I also had a huge crush on him. Is that really him in that head-to-toe red outfit? I could never have recognized him. (But like you implied, folks who knew us back when might say the same about us now!)

by Anonymousreply 3January 21, 2024 2:06 AM

I hear Ralph has been ill off and on. I had a crush on him too. I also crushed on John Amos, that ass!

Jimmie Walker is such an asshole. He talked shit about everyone.

Bernadette was always so pretty. Why does Ralph look more than a decade older that Jimmie now?

by Anonymousreply 6January 21, 2024 3:32 AM

Poor Ralph looks like the black Corey Feldman.

by Anonymousreply 7January 21, 2024 3:34 AM

BernNadette looks fabulous.

Damn him!

Was Janet too busy with her SOLD OUT TOUR to attend?

by Anonymousreply 10January 21, 2024 5:03 AM

I liked Good Times but whenever I saw James and Florida on screen together, they looked more like mother and son than wife and husband. She was so… matronly. He was just plain hot.

by Anonymousreply 11January 21, 2024 9:53 AM

I agree⬆️

by Anonymousreply 12January 21, 2024 10:41 AM

That’s because Esther Rolle was old enough to be John Amos’s mother in real life, much like Isabelle Sanford was old enough to be Sherman Hemsley’s mother.

R4, John Amos in those tight corduroys was lethal!

by Anonymousreply 13January 21, 2024 11:16 AM

I don’t think that the dad and brother were that good looking on Good Times but standing next to JJ would make anyone look hot.

by Anonymousreply 14January 21, 2024 1:01 PM

That’s crazy that Jimmy Walker manages to criticize every single cast member of the show in that interview!

by Anonymousreply 15January 21, 2024 1:10 PM

Ralph the pimp

by Anonymousreply 16January 21, 2024 2:50 PM

Like John Amos, Ralph Carter had a great ass.

by Anonymousreply 17January 21, 2024 2:52 PM

[quote] That’s crazy that Jimmy Walker manages to criticize every single cast member of the show in that interview!

That tells you more about him than about them.

by Anonymousreply 18January 21, 2024 2:52 PM

Did you fuck it r17?

by Anonymousreply 19January 21, 2024 2:53 PM

Life is tough when you have no neck.

by Anonymousreply 20January 21, 2024 6:02 PM

Jimmy Walker couldn't understand how the constant "Dy-No-Myte" would have been tiring for the other cast members.

His character (buffoonish) unexpectedly blew up and became the breakout star. He couldn't understand how that might be disappointing to the experienced actors.

He always bitches about the Willona actress, who wanted to make her part bigger. That's what everybody wants: to expand their roles.

What can you expect from someone who dated Ann Coulter.

by Anonymousreply 21January 21, 2024 6:16 PM

I think they tried to GoFundMe a revival of the show a few years ago and it bombed badly. I felt really bad for them.

by Anonymousreply 22January 21, 2024 6:19 PM

Slap him, Willona!

by Anonymousreply 23January 21, 2024 6:29 PM

Willona was the STAR of that show!

Willona also wrote the theme for "The Jeffersons." Yes, the Movin' On Up song. Super-talented lady.

I guess she wasn't pretty enough to meet his standards.

by Anonymousreply 26January 21, 2024 6:54 PM

I don't think Jimmy is a mean-spirited person, but he is brutally honest. And he has great vintage gossip and fun stories.

I didn't realize Jimmie Walker was that old - 76!

by Anonymousreply 28January 22, 2024 4:14 AM

R27 He has made many anti-LGBT comments over the years so yes he is a mean spirited person & a Trumper repub to boot.
