Because I can't fucking find one here.

Laverne is stinking up the "silver" carpet on E! again.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | January 15, 2024 10:43 PM |
She called some straight male actor gurl.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | January 15, 2024 10:48 PM |
Did he respond “Laverne, my man”?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 15, 2024 10:50 PM |
Colman Domingo looks amazing.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 15, 2024 10:54 PM |
Has Shirley commented yet?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 15, 2024 10:55 PM |
Sheryl Lee Fucking Ralph is currently lying to Cox about how her acceptance speech last year stopped people from committing suicide and how it changed peoples' lives.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 15, 2024 10:57 PM |
Sheryl looks beautiful
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 15, 2024 11:05 PM |
Tell us the story you are telling with your look tonight.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 15, 2024 11:15 PM |
What is Aubrey Plaza wearing?
Jennifer Coolidge looks good.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 15, 2024 11:20 PM |
[quote]What is Aubrey Plaza wearing?
A Trapper-Keeper, R9.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 15, 2024 11:23 PM |
WTF Selena Gomez??? That is awful.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 15, 2024 11:25 PM |
They really need to spread these award shows out more, I am getting tired of the monologues and the same people winning
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 15, 2024 11:29 PM |
Selena has got so doughy, it is not attractive
by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 15, 2024 11:30 PM |
Ugh a Matthew Perry tribute will be made by the other Friends cast
by Anonymous | reply 14 | January 15, 2024 11:31 PM |
They need to stick an earpiece in Cox's ear and have someone stream words from a thesaurus into her ear. Then maybe we'll get more than "Gurl, your look is just WOW" out of her piehole.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 15, 2024 11:31 PM |
R12 then don’t watch.
The Emmys are normally in September. This was delayed due to the strikes. You keep complaining as if you don’t have the option to not watch.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | January 15, 2024 11:32 PM |
Who was that pregnant fashion catastrophe in red?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | January 15, 2024 11:38 PM |
She really fucked up the Hannah Waddingham interview.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 15, 2024 11:40 PM |
Laverne Cocks is the worst fucking interviewer.... EVER.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 15, 2024 11:40 PM |
I'm getting tired of the guys wearing blazers with no shirt underneath.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 15, 2024 11:41 PM |
James Marsden looks.... different.
Has he had a lot of work done?
Jessica Chastain looks amazing!
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 15, 2024 11:42 PM |
R17 Suki Waterhouse. Robert Pattinson’s girl.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 15, 2024 11:44 PM |
R17 Suki Waterhouse, I only know that because Cox is interviewing her.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 15, 2024 11:46 PM |
Thanks.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | January 15, 2024 11:48 PM |
This interviewer smells cookies
by Anonymous | reply 25 | January 15, 2024 11:49 PM |
I love Juliette Lewis. She’s so bizarre.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | January 15, 2024 11:53 PM |
Juliette is a treasure. So cute.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | January 15, 2024 11:53 PM |
I was on a site where straight men post and they are loving Selena’s weight gain. I think she looks bad
by Anonymous | reply 28 | January 15, 2024 11:59 PM |
You're the only one who thinks that R27.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | January 15, 2024 11:59 PM |
There is nasty ass dresses this year. 🤢
by Anonymous | reply 30 | January 16, 2024 12:00 AM |
Anthony Anderson looks like he had some kind of botched cosmetic procedure.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 16, 2024 12:03 AM |
I don't watch any network tv shows so I'll be rather lost tonight to identify a lot of nominees.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | January 16, 2024 12:04 AM |
We do not need this dreck, just hand out the awards.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | January 16, 2024 12:04 AM |
Whoo, boy...
by Anonymous | reply 34 | January 16, 2024 12:05 AM |
Mr. Kardashian?
by Anonymous | reply 35 | January 16, 2024 12:05 AM |
um who is this buffoon
by Anonymous | reply 36 | January 16, 2024 12:06 AM |
Can his mom just host this mess?
by Anonymous | reply 37 | January 16, 2024 12:08 AM |
He needs to get off Mama's teat
by Anonymous | reply 38 | January 16, 2024 12:08 AM |
Ugh fucking Christina and her cane are stealing my thunder.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | January 16, 2024 12:08 AM |
Why the standing o?
by Anonymous | reply 40 | January 16, 2024 12:08 AM |
She’s perfect.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | January 16, 2024 12:09 AM |
yes that cunt Sheryl Lee Ralph lost
by Anonymous | reply 42 | January 16, 2024 12:09 AM |
Because she’s a tv legend. That’s why
by Anonymous | reply 43 | January 16, 2024 12:09 AM |
Thank God, I was in no mood for Sheryl Lee's pomposity.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | January 16, 2024 12:10 AM |
Married with Children I loved in my teenage years
by Anonymous | reply 45 | January 16, 2024 12:10 AM |
Ato belongs in the lead category.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | January 16, 2024 12:10 AM |
Love Ayo so much on The Bear. Shocked Emmy’s put her as supporting when every other award puts her as lead
by Anonymous | reply 47 | January 16, 2024 12:11 AM |
[quote] Because she’s a tv legend. That’s why
And she has MS.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | January 16, 2024 12:11 AM |
Is she that good in The Bear or is this a diversity win?
by Anonymous | reply 49 | January 16, 2024 12:11 AM |
I'm liking Ayo more with each award she wins.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | January 16, 2024 12:11 AM |
Carson Daly was next to her
by Anonymous | reply 51 | January 16, 2024 12:11 AM |
I'd rather see Christina hosting; she's great.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | January 16, 2024 12:12 AM |
R49 you asked this same stupid question last night. Do yourself a favor and sign off, go apply for classes at your local school or at least a job. Do yourself a favor.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | January 16, 2024 12:12 AM |
Carol Burnett looks like she dressed for a Halloween party as a vampire.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | January 16, 2024 12:13 AM |
Carol Burnett is 90.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | January 16, 2024 12:13 AM |
R40 she's been battling a debilitating case of MS for several years now. I recall reading that there were times during shooting Dead to Me where she had to lean on a stagehand who was out of camera range just so she could stay upright for the scene.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | January 16, 2024 12:13 AM |
Always impressed when a 90-year old can walk without assistance.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | January 16, 2024 12:13 AM |
Ha! You know Ralph's PISSED about Brunson winning when she didn't.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | January 16, 2024 12:14 AM |
Quinta Brunson is overrated, but I'm glad she won instead of that other ugly midget freak Jenna Ortega.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | January 16, 2024 12:14 AM |
Carol Burnett is the queen. The end.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | January 16, 2024 12:14 AM |
Happy for Quinta.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | January 16, 2024 12:15 AM |
I like Quinta's dress even the weird color. She rocks it.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | January 16, 2024 12:15 AM |
Someone needs to go into the Ladies' and fish out Ralph's acceptance speech from the trash. It's gonna be crumpled and smeared with makeup and boob sweat but I'd be curious to see what it says.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | January 16, 2024 12:18 AM |
This was for the first season of The Bear. She may be lead next year.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | January 16, 2024 12:18 AM |
The White Lotus season 2 was overrated.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | January 16, 2024 12:21 AM |
R64 is correct. This was for season 1.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | January 16, 2024 12:22 AM |
Season 2 of White Lotus is PERFECT
by Anonymous | reply 67 | January 16, 2024 12:23 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 68 | January 16, 2024 12:23 AM |
Rhea Seehorn was robbed.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | January 16, 2024 12:23 AM |
But Jennifer Coolidge was not.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | January 16, 2024 12:23 AM |
Sorry but I actually feel Elizabeth Debecki was robbed here.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | January 16, 2024 12:23 AM |
both supporting actresses hail FROM BOSTON OH YEAH BOSTON OH YEAH
by Anonymous | reply 72 | January 16, 2024 12:24 AM |
The evil gays!
by Anonymous | reply 73 | January 16, 2024 12:24 AM |
Rhea Seehorn should have got an emmy
by Anonymous | reply 74 | January 16, 2024 12:24 AM |
What did Pedro say?
by Anonymous | reply 75 | January 16, 2024 12:24 AM |
Stars aren’t going to be happy with the Anthony’s mama shtick. I don’t blame them.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | January 16, 2024 12:25 AM |
Someone needs to kick Anthony Anderson’s mother in her dusty old cooch.
That bit is tired already. Who the fuck is that old bitch to tell people to wrap it up.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | January 16, 2024 12:25 AM |
WHAT DID HE SAY.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | January 16, 2024 12:25 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 81 | January 16, 2024 12:27 AM |
R80 he was nominated for White Lotus.
by Anonymous | reply 82 | January 16, 2024 12:27 AM |
I need Matthew MacFadyen inside me.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | January 16, 2024 12:27 AM |
"Kieran Culkin beat the shit out of me."
by Anonymous | reply 84 | January 16, 2024 12:27 AM |
Pedro Pascal is mentally ill.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | January 16, 2024 12:28 AM |
Alexander Skarsgard is there, he didn't show for the Golden Globes.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | January 16, 2024 12:28 AM |
He said all your base are belong to us R78.
by Anonymous | reply 87 | January 16, 2024 12:31 AM |
Commercials every 10 minutes. Damn!!!
by Anonymous | reply 88 | January 16, 2024 12:31 AM |
Has Carol Burnett already appeared onstage? Did I miss her?
by Anonymous | reply 89 | January 16, 2024 12:31 AM |
That cunt Holland Taylor looks like shit.
by Anonymous | reply 90 | January 16, 2024 12:32 AM |
r89, yes.
by Anonymous | reply 91 | January 16, 2024 12:32 AM |
Yes Ebon deserved that win. His character arc is so good on The Bear.
by Anonymous | reply 92 | January 16, 2024 12:33 AM |
CNN: Donnie won Iowa. Watch the Emmys.
by Anonymous | reply 93 | January 16, 2024 12:34 AM |
R88 That's why I don't watch network shows. I've been spoiled by other channels.
by Anonymous | reply 94 | January 16, 2024 12:34 AM |
Martin was an overrated crap sitcom.
by Anonymous | reply 95 | January 16, 2024 12:34 AM |
With this being the 75th Emmys, will Dick Van Dyke make an appearance?
by Anonymous | reply 96 | January 16, 2024 12:36 AM |
I'm so wet right now!
by Anonymous | reply 97 | January 16, 2024 12:36 AM |
yay Jeremy Allen White won
by Anonymous | reply 98 | January 16, 2024 12:37 AM |
R86 he was working. He clearly took tonight off for this
by Anonymous | reply 99 | January 16, 2024 12:37 AM |
Martin Lawrence is beyond fucked up. He's barely conscious.
by Anonymous | reply 100 | January 16, 2024 12:37 AM |
The Bear is dominating!
by Anonymous | reply 101 | January 16, 2024 12:38 AM |
Anderson's mom stroked out so no more shtick.
by Anonymous | reply 102 | January 16, 2024 12:38 AM |
Did Pedro hurt his shoulder from being a gladiator?
by Anonymous | reply 103 | January 16, 2024 12:38 AM |
Martin Lawrence: Sad Last Days?
by Anonymous | reply 104 | January 16, 2024 12:38 AM |
I always loved Martin Lawrence. One of the few comedians I genuinely found funny
by Anonymous | reply 105 | January 16, 2024 12:38 AM |
R103 yes. He hurt it while filming Gladiator 2
by Anonymous | reply 106 | January 16, 2024 12:39 AM |
So basically everything is just repeat winners from the golden globes and critics choice
by Anonymous | reply 107 | January 16, 2024 12:39 AM |
Love that they are having cast reunions for this Emmys. Mostly 90s shows.
by Anonymous | reply 108 | January 16, 2024 12:40 AM |
R107 yes because most voters will view that same performance as the best. PS these wins were chosen since last September.
by Anonymous | reply 109 | January 16, 2024 12:40 AM |
Jesus a bear inspired Coke commercial?
by Anonymous | reply 110 | January 16, 2024 12:40 AM |
Wasn't Martin Lawrence accused of being violent with one of those ladies?
by Anonymous | reply 111 | January 16, 2024 12:41 AM |
R111 Yes, IIRC it was Tisha Campbell.
by Anonymous | reply 112 | January 16, 2024 12:42 AM |
Tischa Campbell had made accusations against Martin, but it looks like they’ve reconciled. He looked like he had a stroke.
by Anonymous | reply 113 | January 16, 2024 12:42 AM |
Am I already forgetting or was White Lotus ignored at the Golden Globes?
by Anonymous | reply 114 | January 16, 2024 12:43 AM |
Lorne Michaels is probably having a meltdown right now.
by Anonymous | reply 115 | January 16, 2024 12:44 AM |
A cummerbund wouldn't hurt John Oliver.
by Anonymous | reply 116 | January 16, 2024 12:44 AM |
Dang it, I wanted ABLSS to win. That show was hilarious.
by Anonymous | reply 117 | January 16, 2024 12:45 AM |
Can Anthony Anderson stop doing stuff for a while?
He is so dull but keeps getting jobs.
by Anonymous | reply 118 | January 16, 2024 12:45 AM |
I can't stand Anthony Anderson's mom. I hope he never hosts again.
by Anonymous | reply 119 | January 16, 2024 12:45 AM |
Tisha Campbell made accusations against Martin and refused to film with him for a lot of the final season. Her character was gone for a while and when brought back they didn’t film their scenes together. I don’t think it was physical violence but sexual assault or something.
Years later they reconciled and have been friends since. She said she forgave him when he reached out years later and apologized. He was on drugs and in a dark place at the time.
by Anonymous | reply 120 | January 16, 2024 12:47 AM |
The Emmy’s are a year behind???
by Anonymous | reply 121 | January 16, 2024 12:47 AM |
Niece Nash’s wife looks like Chris Tucker.
by Anonymous | reply 122 | January 16, 2024 12:48 AM |
Didn't we see those tits recently?
by Anonymous | reply 123 | January 16, 2024 12:48 AM |
Yay Niecey
by Anonymous | reply 124 | January 16, 2024 12:48 AM |
Why do these fat women wear tight glasses they cannot walk in?
by Anonymous | reply 125 | January 16, 2024 12:48 AM |
Is everyone getting a standing O tonight?
by Anonymous | reply 126 | January 16, 2024 12:49 AM |
She’s a curvaceous gal.
by Anonymous | reply 127 | January 16, 2024 12:49 AM |
Niecey’s are juicy though.
by Anonymous | reply 128 | January 16, 2024 12:49 AM |
Da'Vine Joy called. She wants her tits back.
by Anonymous | reply 129 | January 16, 2024 12:49 AM |

Tits are "in" this awards season.
by Anonymous | reply 131 | January 16, 2024 12:49 AM |
Niecy Nash has massive mammaries.
by Anonymous | reply 132 | January 16, 2024 12:49 AM |
Niecy is fierce!

by Anonymous | reply 135 | January 16, 2024 12:50 AM |
Marla GIbbs looked good for 92 years old.
by Anonymous | reply 136 | January 16, 2024 12:50 AM |
R121 Honoring shows from June 2022 to June 2023, I believe. The ceremony itself is four months late.
by Anonymous | reply 137 | January 16, 2024 12:53 AM |
The Emmys will be back this September barring another writer's strike. Fellow Travelers should be nominated in that ceremony.
by Anonymous | reply 138 | January 16, 2024 12:53 AM |
Love Pedro. Even if the little Culkin kid can whip his ass.
by Anonymous | reply 139 | January 16, 2024 12:53 AM |
The Emmys, not the Emmy's.
by Anonymous | reply 140 | January 16, 2024 12:53 AM |
R121 I’m convinced you’re a professional troll or truly the stupidest person I’ve ever seen. It’s actually appalling how slow you are.
THE. STRIKES. ARE. KNOWN. TO. HAVE. HAPPENED. GLOBALLY.
Yet you act like this is news to you. The strikes made headlines worldwide yet you didn’t know about them? Were you homeless all of 2023? They lasted 6 months.
This is the 2023 Emmy’s. This was supposed to air in September 2023. The strikes made them push it back.
by Anonymous | reply 141 | January 16, 2024 12:53 AM |
[quote] This is the 2023 Emmy’s.
See R140, R141.
by Anonymous | reply 142 | January 16, 2024 12:54 AM |
No Shelly Long?
by Anonymous | reply 143 | January 16, 2024 12:55 AM |
Most of the Cheers cast looks old. I think Ted Dansen will be the last one standing.
by Anonymous | reply 144 | January 16, 2024 12:56 AM |
R138, the Teamsters are threatening to strike in July (also Hair & Makeup and one other category’s contract are up as well). If they strike, the town will shut town again.
by Anonymous | reply 145 | January 16, 2024 12:57 AM |
R144 because they are old. That’s what happens with time. You age. It’s inevitable
by Anonymous | reply 146 | January 16, 2024 12:57 AM |
I thought George Wendt was going to take a tumble.
by Anonymous | reply 147 | January 16, 2024 12:58 AM |
R144 Perlman has a featured role in the next season of Poker Face.
by Anonymous | reply 148 | January 16, 2024 12:58 AM |
Perlman was also just in Barbie
by Anonymous | reply 149 | January 16, 2024 12:59 AM |
Norm and Cliff reeeeeaaaalllllllly aged.
Somehow didn't expect that with character actors who looked old when they were on TV 40 years ago. Walter Brennan always looked the same.
by Anonymous | reply 150 | January 16, 2024 12:59 AM |
Perlman actually looked better with white hair in the Barbie movie.
by Anonymous | reply 151 | January 16, 2024 12:59 AM |
But WHY are actors who were in their 40s in the '90s look like they're now in their 70s?
Because they ARE in their 70s, Blanche!
by Anonymous | reply 152 | January 16, 2024 12:59 AM |
These vignettes are a nice idea but they’re about as well rehearsed as an SNL sketch.
by Anonymous | reply 153 | January 16, 2024 12:59 AM |
Kelsey Grammer looked good. Comparatively speaking.
by Anonymous | reply 154 | January 16, 2024 1:00 AM |
Long is sick from what I heard.
by Anonymous | reply 155 | January 16, 2024 1:00 AM |
R152 exactly. “They look old”! Because they are. Jesus. It’s like modern people think you will be 20 forever. What is wrong with people?
by Anonymous | reply 156 | January 16, 2024 1:01 AM |
Kelsey Grammer is trump trash
by Anonymous | reply 157 | January 16, 2024 1:01 AM |
um poor cliff clavin
by Anonymous | reply 158 | January 16, 2024 1:02 AM |
With advances in plastic surgery I do believe we are close to ppl looking young well into their 80s/90s.
by Anonymous | reply 159 | January 16, 2024 1:02 AM |
Where was Woody?
by Anonymous | reply 160 | January 16, 2024 1:03 AM |
Joel McHale is so tall, and therefore, hot.
by Anonymous | reply 161 | January 16, 2024 1:03 AM |
R159, you do realize the mind and the body don't stay young and fresh along with the fake faces?
by Anonymous | reply 162 | January 16, 2024 1:03 AM |
R159 no. They look like freaks usually. Not “young”. “Younger” maybe. And not everyone is doing plastic surgery. You seem RETARDED. It’s sad.
by Anonymous | reply 163 | January 16, 2024 1:04 AM |
lol at Hannah Waddingham fangirling over Rupaul.
by Anonymous | reply 164 | January 16, 2024 1:04 AM |
I'd fuck Joel McHale in his shit slit.
by Anonymous | reply 165 | January 16, 2024 1:05 AM |
Joel McHale is so damn HOT.
by Anonymous | reply 166 | January 16, 2024 1:05 AM |
Joel McHale was so hot in Deliver Us From Evil, along with his hotter costar Eric Bana.
by Anonymous | reply 167 | January 16, 2024 1:05 AM |
You can pump your face with filler and Botox and get face lifts etc. but your body and mind are still aging. You can be 80 and look 50 but your body is still 80. It’s like todays youth are retarded.
by Anonymous | reply 168 | January 16, 2024 1:05 AM |
For the life of me, I don’t get the love for Drag Race. I tried to watch it once and couldn’t make it through five minutes.

by Anonymous | reply 170 | January 16, 2024 1:06 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 171 | January 16, 2024 1:06 AM |
Arsenio still looks good.
by Anonymous | reply 172 | January 16, 2024 1:06 AM |
Joel was super hot in The Bear with grey hair and beard.
by Anonymous | reply 173 | January 16, 2024 1:06 AM |
Arsenio Hall?
by Anonymous | reply 174 | January 16, 2024 1:07 AM |
No standing ovation for Arsenio.
by Anonymous | reply 175 | January 16, 2024 1:07 AM |
How has Arsenio not aged in 35 years.

The ones who are triggered by that post about aging are already old as fuck and it’s too late for them so they’re BITTER.

R177 none of that works. How stupid. You believe your body can be preserved? No. You’re a human. You’ll age. You’re a retard. Just shut the fuck up. You don’t even have a job.

As nice as it was to see Joan Collins and Taraji P Henson, their intro made zero sense. I thought they were presenting an award for costume design…but they went from talking about their respective shows’ costumes, to presenting Best Limited Series!
by Anonymous | reply 350 | January 16, 2024 2:09 AM |
They were trying to find some kind of commonality between Dame Joan and Taraji, thus the fashion chat preceding the nominations.

Chastain looked like she was seething deep down

"I've had with with DEI and Beef."
So any minority show is DEI? Minority centered shows existed before DEI was even a thing. So you're basically saying that unless YOU approve of the win, it should be dismissed as DEI.

Maybe next year it’ll be the Latinos’ turn to sweep all the awards.
Ha! Jk! We’re the invisible minority in Hollywood!

Succession is an amazing show.

Such a contrast to Macauley who absolutely hates his mother.
by Anonymous | reply 436 | January 16, 2024 2:38 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 456 | January 16, 2024 2:45 AM |
R418 & R424 Fellow Travelers wasn’t eligible for Emmys this year. It will be included in the next one, around September, I think. They were nominated for Golden Globes, Critics Choice & SAG awards this time. Only Jonathan Bailey has won so far for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series at Critics Choice. The other nominations for Matt Bomer and the show itself have been beat by Beef. Since Beef won’t be in the next round of Emmys, maybe they will have a better chance.

Longshot, but has anybody seen Hiam Abbass (Marcia, Succession) at the Emmys? I've been very curious about her given everything going on. Her daughter is nominated for an Oscar. "In her early 20s, Hiam Abbass left her native Palestinian village to follow her dream of becoming an actress in Europe, leaving behind her mother, grandmother, and seven sisters. 30 years later, her filmmaker daughter Lina returns with her to the village and questions for the first time her mother’s bold choices, her chosen exile and the way the women in their family influenced both their lives."

[quote] Jeremy Strong said he was 'hurt' that his 'Succession' costars appeared dismissive of his acting process in his New Yorker profile, but said things were 'presented out of context'
Actor Jeremy Strong says he was left feeling "hurt" after a December 2021 New Yorker profile about him suggested his "Succession" costars were dismissive of his intense method acting process.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Strong revealed the quotes from coworkers such as Brian Cox and Kieran Culkin, who play his father and brother respectively on "Succession," upset him, but said he doesn't think that is the whole story.
"A lot of that is just things that are presented out of context or with a certain agenda," Strong told THR. "I know what everybody said, and there was an angle and a narrative that was being presented."
"Which is not to say that there was never friction between my co-stars," he added. "We're a family in every sense of the word. But foundationally, there's deep respect and even love."
Strong pushed back a lot of what was written of him in that New Yorker article — and said that he, of course, sees the comedy in "Succession," he told THR.
"That's just ridiculous. Sometimes when I read it, I can't stop laughing. Of course it's a comedy. It's a comedy, it's a satire, it's a tragedy," he said. "What I meant more was that I don't treat it as a comedy in my lane."
He continued: "I'm never trying to make a joke. I'm not on a sitcom. I'm investing in the reality of those given circumstances and treating it the way I would treat a drama. So that the stakes are real. It's about investiture."
"Maybe it's just that difficult to feel exposed," Strong said of the article. "And so maybe it's simply that. I think there's a lot of truth to that."
"It was painful," he said at the time. "I felt foolish. As an actor, one of the most vital secret weapons that you can have is the ability to tolerate feeling foolish."
Neither Michael Schulman, who wrote the New Yorker article, nor the New Yorker immediately responded to Insider's request for comment.
Schulman told THR that his profile "invited interpretation."
"A lot of people felt like he came across as just an incredibly dedicated, hyper-committed artist," he told THR. "Some people saw him as a benign weirdo. And other people as an insufferable diva. I don't think any of those interpretations are wrong. And I think the piece went viral because it invited you to decide what you felt about this extreme person."

R509 false. The show was literally written to be 4 seasons. The creator and writers had the entire show planned from the start. They had a game plan from start to finish. They never lost sight of that.

Same thing goes for Yellowstone.
Costner is fighting the corporations coming for his ranch.
Rip acting like a dickhead.
Beth acting like a cunt.
Jamie being a weasel.
Kayce fighting with his chinese wife.
And the whole thing ending with a huge gunfight at the end of the season.
Both Succession and Yellowstone were wildly popular with viewers, but you can only use this formula for five seasons MAXIMUM, before it starts getting stale.

I'm surprised that none of the other comedies have questioned The Bear's eligibility in the category. It is most definitely not a comedy. They only submit in the comedy category so they wouldn't have to go up against Succession and can win more awards.

Jesse Armstrong explains why ended it with season 4. He said when he stated season 2 he knew he would not let the show go past a 5th season. He ended up deciding to end it on 4th.
"The end has always been kind of present in my mind. From season 2, I've been trying to think: Is it the next one, or the one after that, or is it the one after that?" he told the outlet.
"I got together with a few of my fellow-writers before we started the writing of season 4, in about November, December, 2021, and I sort of said, 'Look, I think this maybe should be it. But what do you think?'" Armstrong said. "And we played out various scenarios: We could do a couple of short seasons, or 2 more seasons. Or we could go on for ages and turn the show into something rather different, and be a more rangy, freewheeling kind of fun show, where there would be good weeks and bad weeks. Or we could do something a bit more muscular and complete, and go out sort of strong. And that was definitely always my preference."

My eyes were bulging out of my head. Honorable mention to “L to the OG”. What a great show (except for human bread loaf Shiv and that’s IMHO).
I’m glad The Bear won, and it was a classy (how I hate that word) for Ebon MB to step in and help Matty with his speech. I really thought Succession would take it.
Sons of Anarchy got repetitive in the same way. The Club, the Family, blah blah.

I loved Succession. I personally loved the first and final seasons the most. 2 and 3 were also great but that first season was amazing and so new and fresh. I just hated some of the camera work on the first season. The finale to season 1 was incredible.
Season 4 was a lot darker and very very sad and upsetting overall and that’s because of how well it was written. You’re supposed to feel these feelings the characters are feeling and the final season does an amazing job of that. “Connor’s Wedding” is one of the best written television episodes in years.

I think that's the point Jeremy Strong was trying to make in the article at R510.
He took his role seriously, as a dramatic part.
Whereas, everyone else in the cast thought that they were doing a comedy.
The director should have made it clear to the cast, specifically what kind of show they were doing.
When you leave it up to the actor to interpret the role, you're going to get a show that's all over the place.

I always liked the enigmatic Marcia, on Succession. It felt to me like there was a shift in plotline because the actress got a part on a comedy and was less available. I keep waiting for an interview with Jesse Armstrong where he clarifies how the show might have unspooled had they kept the character in the place they seemed to be positioning her to be.
I have been rewatching it and it strikes me how much chaos there is around the kids, especially when they are together and at a common purpose. The atmosphere is full of it in their scenes. They really weren't serious people.

R576, yes, "Better Call Saul" was such a gripping drama, and there were many edge-of-your-seat scenes where you really didn't know what was going to happen. Also, the character arcs were complex and made you really feel for those people. For my money, the writing, directing, and acting were some of the best quality of any show on TV.
