***OFFICIAL 2024 Emmy Awards Thread***

Because I can't fucking find one here.

by Anonymousreply 600January 16, 2024 6:37 PM

Laverne is stinking up the "silver" carpet on E! again.

by Anonymousreply 1January 15, 2024 10:43 PM

She called some straight male actor gurl.

by Anonymousreply 2January 15, 2024 10:48 PM

Did he respond “Laverne, my man”?

by Anonymousreply 3January 15, 2024 10:50 PM

Colman Domingo looks amazing.

by Anonymousreply 4January 15, 2024 10:54 PM

Has Shirley commented yet?

by Anonymousreply 5January 15, 2024 10:55 PM

Sheryl Lee Fucking Ralph is currently lying to Cox about how her acceptance speech last year stopped people from committing suicide and how it changed peoples' lives.

by Anonymousreply 6January 15, 2024 10:57 PM

Sheryl looks beautiful

by Anonymousreply 7January 15, 2024 11:05 PM

Tell us the story you are telling with your look tonight.

by Anonymousreply 8January 15, 2024 11:15 PM

What is Aubrey Plaza wearing?

Jennifer Coolidge looks good.

by Anonymousreply 9January 15, 2024 11:20 PM

[quote]What is Aubrey Plaza wearing?

A Trapper-Keeper, R9.

by Anonymousreply 10January 15, 2024 11:23 PM

WTF Selena Gomez??? That is awful.

by Anonymousreply 11January 15, 2024 11:25 PM

They really need to spread these award shows out more, I am getting tired of the monologues and the same people winning

by Anonymousreply 12January 15, 2024 11:29 PM

Selena has got so doughy, it is not attractive

by Anonymousreply 13January 15, 2024 11:30 PM

Ugh a Matthew Perry tribute will be made by the other Friends cast

by Anonymousreply 14January 15, 2024 11:31 PM

They need to stick an earpiece in Cox's ear and have someone stream words from a thesaurus into her ear. Then maybe we'll get more than "Gurl, your look is just WOW" out of her piehole.

by Anonymousreply 15January 15, 2024 11:31 PM

R12 then don’t watch.

The Emmys are normally in September. This was delayed due to the strikes. You keep complaining as if you don’t have the option to not watch.

by Anonymousreply 16January 15, 2024 11:32 PM

Who was that pregnant fashion catastrophe in red?

by Anonymousreply 17January 15, 2024 11:38 PM

She really fucked up the Hannah Waddingham interview.

by Anonymousreply 18January 15, 2024 11:40 PM

Laverne Cocks is the worst fucking interviewer.... EVER.

by Anonymousreply 19January 15, 2024 11:40 PM

I'm getting tired of the guys wearing blazers with no shirt underneath.

by Anonymousreply 20January 15, 2024 11:41 PM

James Marsden looks.... different.

Has he had a lot of work done?

Jessica Chastain looks amazing!

by Anonymousreply 21January 15, 2024 11:42 PM

R17 Suki Waterhouse. Robert Pattinson’s girl.

by Anonymousreply 22January 15, 2024 11:44 PM

R17 Suki Waterhouse, I only know that because Cox is interviewing her.

by Anonymousreply 23January 15, 2024 11:46 PM

Thanks.

by Anonymousreply 24January 15, 2024 11:48 PM

This interviewer smells cookies

by Anonymousreply 25January 15, 2024 11:49 PM

I love Juliette Lewis. She’s so bizarre.

by Anonymousreply 26January 15, 2024 11:53 PM

Juliette is a treasure. So cute.

by Anonymousreply 27January 15, 2024 11:53 PM

I was on a site where straight men post and they are loving Selena’s weight gain. I think she looks bad

by Anonymousreply 28January 15, 2024 11:59 PM

You're the only one who thinks that R27.

by Anonymousreply 29January 15, 2024 11:59 PM

There is nasty ass dresses this year. 🤢

by Anonymousreply 30January 16, 2024 12:00 AM

Anthony Anderson looks like he had some kind of botched cosmetic procedure.

by Anonymousreply 31January 16, 2024 12:03 AM

I don't watch any network tv shows so I'll be rather lost tonight to identify a lot of nominees.

by Anonymousreply 32January 16, 2024 12:04 AM

We do not need this dreck, just hand out the awards.

by Anonymousreply 33January 16, 2024 12:04 AM

Whoo, boy...

by Anonymousreply 34January 16, 2024 12:05 AM

Mr. Kardashian?

by Anonymousreply 35January 16, 2024 12:05 AM

um who is this buffoon

by Anonymousreply 36January 16, 2024 12:06 AM

Can his mom just host this mess?

by Anonymousreply 37January 16, 2024 12:08 AM

He needs to get off Mama's teat

by Anonymousreply 38January 16, 2024 12:08 AM

Ugh fucking Christina and her cane are stealing my thunder.

by Anonymousreply 39January 16, 2024 12:08 AM

Why the standing o?

by Anonymousreply 40January 16, 2024 12:08 AM

She’s perfect.

by Anonymousreply 41January 16, 2024 12:09 AM

yes that cunt Sheryl Lee Ralph lost

by Anonymousreply 42January 16, 2024 12:09 AM

Because she’s a tv legend. That’s why

by Anonymousreply 43January 16, 2024 12:09 AM

Thank God, I was in no mood for Sheryl Lee's pomposity.

by Anonymousreply 44January 16, 2024 12:10 AM

Married with Children I loved in my teenage years

by Anonymousreply 45January 16, 2024 12:10 AM

Ato belongs in the lead category.

by Anonymousreply 46January 16, 2024 12:10 AM

Love Ayo so much on The Bear. Shocked Emmy’s put her as supporting when every other award puts her as lead

by Anonymousreply 47January 16, 2024 12:11 AM

[quote] Because she’s a tv legend. That’s why

And she has MS.

by Anonymousreply 48January 16, 2024 12:11 AM

Is she that good in The Bear or is this a diversity win?

by Anonymousreply 49January 16, 2024 12:11 AM

I'm liking Ayo more with each award she wins.

by Anonymousreply 50January 16, 2024 12:11 AM

Carson Daly was next to her

by Anonymousreply 51January 16, 2024 12:11 AM

I'd rather see Christina hosting; she's great.

by Anonymousreply 52January 16, 2024 12:12 AM

R49 you asked this same stupid question last night. Do yourself a favor and sign off, go apply for classes at your local school or at least a job. Do yourself a favor.

by Anonymousreply 53January 16, 2024 12:12 AM

Carol Burnett looks like she dressed for a Halloween party as a vampire.

by Anonymousreply 54January 16, 2024 12:13 AM

Carol Burnett is 90.

by Anonymousreply 55January 16, 2024 12:13 AM

R40 she's been battling a debilitating case of MS for several years now. I recall reading that there were times during shooting Dead to Me where she had to lean on a stagehand who was out of camera range just so she could stay upright for the scene.

by Anonymousreply 56January 16, 2024 12:13 AM

Always impressed when a 90-year old can walk without assistance.

by Anonymousreply 57January 16, 2024 12:13 AM

Ha! You know Ralph's PISSED about Brunson winning when she didn't.

by Anonymousreply 58January 16, 2024 12:14 AM

Quinta Brunson is overrated, but I'm glad she won instead of that other ugly midget freak Jenna Ortega.

by Anonymousreply 59January 16, 2024 12:14 AM

Carol Burnett is the queen. The end.

by Anonymousreply 60January 16, 2024 12:14 AM

Happy for Quinta.

by Anonymousreply 61January 16, 2024 12:15 AM

I like Quinta's dress even the weird color. She rocks it.

by Anonymousreply 62January 16, 2024 12:15 AM

Someone needs to go into the Ladies' and fish out Ralph's acceptance speech from the trash. It's gonna be crumpled and smeared with makeup and boob sweat but I'd be curious to see what it says.

by Anonymousreply 63January 16, 2024 12:18 AM

This was for the first season of The Bear. She may be lead next year.

by Anonymousreply 64January 16, 2024 12:18 AM

The White Lotus season 2 was overrated.

by Anonymousreply 65January 16, 2024 12:21 AM

R64 is correct. This was for season 1.

by Anonymousreply 66January 16, 2024 12:22 AM

Season 2 of White Lotus is PERFECT

by Anonymousreply 67January 16, 2024 12:23 AM

play her off

by Anonymousreply 68January 16, 2024 12:23 AM

Rhea Seehorn was robbed.

by Anonymousreply 69January 16, 2024 12:23 AM

But Jennifer Coolidge was not.

by Anonymousreply 70January 16, 2024 12:23 AM

Sorry but I actually feel Elizabeth Debecki was robbed here.

by Anonymousreply 71January 16, 2024 12:23 AM

both supporting actresses hail FROM BOSTON OH YEAH BOSTON OH YEAH

by Anonymousreply 72January 16, 2024 12:24 AM

The evil gays!

by Anonymousreply 73January 16, 2024 12:24 AM

Rhea Seehorn should have got an emmy

by Anonymousreply 74January 16, 2024 12:24 AM

What did Pedro say?

by Anonymousreply 75January 16, 2024 12:24 AM

Stars aren’t going to be happy with the Anthony’s mama shtick. I don’t blame them.

by Anonymousreply 76January 16, 2024 12:25 AM

Someone needs to kick Anthony Anderson’s mother in her dusty old cooch.

That bit is tired already. Who the fuck is that old bitch to tell people to wrap it up.

by Anonymousreply 77January 16, 2024 12:25 AM

WHAT DID HE SAY.

by Anonymousreply 78January 16, 2024 12:25 AM

Kieran Culkin WHAT?? I can't read lips.

by Anonymousreply 79January 16, 2024 12:25 AM

what happened to michael imperioli was he nommmmmed

by Anonymousreply 80January 16, 2024 12:26 AM

He said “Kieran Culkin beat the shit out of me”

by Anonymousreply 81January 16, 2024 12:27 AM

R80 he was nominated for White Lotus.

by Anonymousreply 82January 16, 2024 12:27 AM

I need Matthew MacFadyen inside me.

by Anonymousreply 83January 16, 2024 12:27 AM

"Kieran Culkin beat the shit out of me."

by Anonymousreply 84January 16, 2024 12:27 AM

Pedro Pascal is mentally ill.

by Anonymousreply 85January 16, 2024 12:28 AM

Alexander Skarsgard is there, he didn't show for the Golden Globes.

by Anonymousreply 86January 16, 2024 12:28 AM

He said all your base are belong to us R78.

by Anonymousreply 87January 16, 2024 12:31 AM

Commercials every 10 minutes. Damn!!!

by Anonymousreply 88January 16, 2024 12:31 AM

Has Carol Burnett already appeared onstage? Did I miss her?

by Anonymousreply 89January 16, 2024 12:31 AM

That cunt Holland Taylor looks like shit.

by Anonymousreply 90January 16, 2024 12:32 AM

r89, yes.

by Anonymousreply 91January 16, 2024 12:32 AM

Yes Ebon deserved that win. His character arc is so good on The Bear.

by Anonymousreply 92January 16, 2024 12:33 AM

CNN: Donnie won Iowa. Watch the Emmys.

by Anonymousreply 93January 16, 2024 12:34 AM

R88 That's why I don't watch network shows. I've been spoiled by other channels.

by Anonymousreply 94January 16, 2024 12:34 AM

Martin was an overrated crap sitcom.

by Anonymousreply 95January 16, 2024 12:34 AM

With this being the 75th Emmys, will Dick Van Dyke make an appearance?

by Anonymousreply 96January 16, 2024 12:36 AM

I'm so wet right now!

by Anonymousreply 97January 16, 2024 12:36 AM

yay Jeremy Allen White won

by Anonymousreply 98January 16, 2024 12:37 AM

R86 he was working. He clearly took tonight off for this

by Anonymousreply 99January 16, 2024 12:37 AM

Martin Lawrence is beyond fucked up. He's barely conscious.

by Anonymousreply 100January 16, 2024 12:37 AM

The Bear is dominating!

by Anonymousreply 101January 16, 2024 12:38 AM

Anderson's mom stroked out so no more shtick.

by Anonymousreply 102January 16, 2024 12:38 AM

Did Pedro hurt his shoulder from being a gladiator?

by Anonymousreply 103January 16, 2024 12:38 AM

Martin Lawrence: Sad Last Days?

by Anonymousreply 104January 16, 2024 12:38 AM

I always loved Martin Lawrence. One of the few comedians I genuinely found funny

by Anonymousreply 105January 16, 2024 12:38 AM

R103 yes. He hurt it while filming Gladiator 2

by Anonymousreply 106January 16, 2024 12:39 AM

So basically everything is just repeat winners from the golden globes and critics choice

by Anonymousreply 107January 16, 2024 12:39 AM

Love that they are having cast reunions for this Emmys. Mostly 90s shows.

by Anonymousreply 108January 16, 2024 12:40 AM

R107 yes because most voters will view that same performance as the best. PS these wins were chosen since last September.

by Anonymousreply 109January 16, 2024 12:40 AM

Jesus a bear inspired Coke commercial?

by Anonymousreply 110January 16, 2024 12:40 AM

Wasn't Martin Lawrence accused of being violent with one of those ladies?

by Anonymousreply 111January 16, 2024 12:41 AM

R111 Yes, IIRC it was Tisha Campbell.

by Anonymousreply 112January 16, 2024 12:42 AM

Tischa Campbell had made accusations against Martin, but it looks like they’ve reconciled. He looked like he had a stroke.

by Anonymousreply 113January 16, 2024 12:42 AM

Am I already forgetting or was White Lotus ignored at the Golden Globes?

by Anonymousreply 114January 16, 2024 12:43 AM

Lorne Michaels is probably having a meltdown right now.

by Anonymousreply 115January 16, 2024 12:44 AM

A cummerbund wouldn't hurt John Oliver.

by Anonymousreply 116January 16, 2024 12:44 AM

Dang it, I wanted ABLSS to win. That show was hilarious.

by Anonymousreply 117January 16, 2024 12:45 AM

Can Anthony Anderson stop doing stuff for a while?

He is so dull but keeps getting jobs.

by Anonymousreply 118January 16, 2024 12:45 AM

I can't stand Anthony Anderson's mom. I hope he never hosts again.

by Anonymousreply 119January 16, 2024 12:45 AM

Tisha Campbell made accusations against Martin and refused to film with him for a lot of the final season. Her character was gone for a while and when brought back they didn’t film their scenes together. I don’t think it was physical violence but sexual assault or something.

Years later they reconciled and have been friends since. She said she forgave him when he reached out years later and apologized. He was on drugs and in a dark place at the time.

by Anonymousreply 120January 16, 2024 12:47 AM

The Emmy’s are a year behind???

by Anonymousreply 121January 16, 2024 12:47 AM

Niece Nash’s wife looks like Chris Tucker.

by Anonymousreply 122January 16, 2024 12:48 AM

Didn't we see those tits recently?

by Anonymousreply 123January 16, 2024 12:48 AM

Yay Niecey

by Anonymousreply 124January 16, 2024 12:48 AM

Why do these fat women wear tight glasses they cannot walk in?

by Anonymousreply 125January 16, 2024 12:48 AM

Is everyone getting a standing O tonight?

by Anonymousreply 126January 16, 2024 12:49 AM

She’s a curvaceous gal.

by Anonymousreply 127January 16, 2024 12:49 AM

Niecey’s are juicy though.

by Anonymousreply 128January 16, 2024 12:49 AM

Da'Vine Joy called. She wants her tits back.

by Anonymousreply 129January 16, 2024 12:49 AM

Niecy Nash winning an award for playing a women who did not want to be portrayed or exploited.

by Anonymousreply 130January 16, 2024 12:49 AM

Tits are "in" this awards season.

by Anonymousreply 131January 16, 2024 12:49 AM

Niecy Nash has massive mammaries.

by Anonymousreply 132January 16, 2024 12:49 AM

Niecy is fierce!

by Anonymousreply 133January 16, 2024 12:50 AM

[quote] The Emmy’s are a year behind???

The strike delayed these awards.

by Anonymousreply 134January 16, 2024 12:50 AM

*tight dresses (obviously)

by Anonymousreply 135January 16, 2024 12:50 AM

Marla GIbbs looked good for 92 years old.

by Anonymousreply 136January 16, 2024 12:50 AM

R121 Honoring shows from June 2022 to June 2023, I believe. The ceremony itself is four months late.

by Anonymousreply 137January 16, 2024 12:53 AM

The Emmys will be back this September barring another writer's strike. Fellow Travelers should be nominated in that ceremony.

by Anonymousreply 138January 16, 2024 12:53 AM

Love Pedro. Even if the little Culkin kid can whip his ass.

by Anonymousreply 139January 16, 2024 12:53 AM

The Emmys, not the Emmy's.

by Anonymousreply 140January 16, 2024 12:53 AM

R121 I’m convinced you’re a professional troll or truly the stupidest person I’ve ever seen. It’s actually appalling how slow you are.

THE. STRIKES. ARE. KNOWN. TO. HAVE. HAPPENED. GLOBALLY.

Yet you act like this is news to you. The strikes made headlines worldwide yet you didn’t know about them? Were you homeless all of 2023? They lasted 6 months.

This is the 2023 Emmy’s. This was supposed to air in September 2023. The strikes made them push it back.

by Anonymousreply 141January 16, 2024 12:53 AM

[quote] This is the 2023 Emmy’s.

See R140, R141.

by Anonymousreply 142January 16, 2024 12:54 AM

No Shelly Long?

by Anonymousreply 143January 16, 2024 12:55 AM

Most of the Cheers cast looks old. I think Ted Dansen will be the last one standing.

by Anonymousreply 144January 16, 2024 12:56 AM

R138, the Teamsters are threatening to strike in July (also Hair & Makeup and one other category’s contract are up as well). If they strike, the town will shut town again.

by Anonymousreply 145January 16, 2024 12:57 AM

R144 because they are old. That’s what happens with time. You age. It’s inevitable

by Anonymousreply 146January 16, 2024 12:57 AM

I thought George Wendt was going to take a tumble.

by Anonymousreply 147January 16, 2024 12:58 AM

R144 Perlman has a featured role in the next season of Poker Face.

by Anonymousreply 148January 16, 2024 12:58 AM

Perlman was also just in Barbie

by Anonymousreply 149January 16, 2024 12:59 AM

Norm and Cliff reeeeeaaaalllllllly aged.

Somehow didn't expect that with character actors who looked old when they were on TV 40 years ago. Walter Brennan always looked the same.

by Anonymousreply 150January 16, 2024 12:59 AM

Perlman actually looked better with white hair in the Barbie movie.

by Anonymousreply 151January 16, 2024 12:59 AM

But WHY are actors who were in their 40s in the '90s look like they're now in their 70s?

Because they ARE in their 70s, Blanche!

by Anonymousreply 152January 16, 2024 12:59 AM

These vignettes are a nice idea but they’re about as well rehearsed as an SNL sketch.

by Anonymousreply 153January 16, 2024 12:59 AM

Kelsey Grammer looked good. Comparatively speaking.

by Anonymousreply 154January 16, 2024 1:00 AM

Long is sick from what I heard.

by Anonymousreply 155January 16, 2024 1:00 AM

R152 exactly. “They look old”! Because they are. Jesus. It’s like modern people think you will be 20 forever. What is wrong with people?

by Anonymousreply 156January 16, 2024 1:01 AM

Kelsey Grammer is trump trash

by Anonymousreply 157January 16, 2024 1:01 AM

um poor cliff clavin

by Anonymousreply 158January 16, 2024 1:02 AM

With advances in plastic surgery I do believe we are close to ppl looking young well into their 80s/90s.

by Anonymousreply 159January 16, 2024 1:02 AM

Where was Woody?

by Anonymousreply 160January 16, 2024 1:03 AM

Joel McHale is so tall, and therefore, hot.

by Anonymousreply 161January 16, 2024 1:03 AM

R159, you do realize the mind and the body don't stay young and fresh along with the fake faces?

by Anonymousreply 162January 16, 2024 1:03 AM

R159 no. They look like freaks usually. Not “young”. “Younger” maybe. And not everyone is doing plastic surgery. You seem RETARDED. It’s sad.

by Anonymousreply 163January 16, 2024 1:04 AM

lol at Hannah Waddingham fangirling over Rupaul.

by Anonymousreply 164January 16, 2024 1:04 AM

I'd fuck Joel McHale in his shit slit.

by Anonymousreply 165January 16, 2024 1:05 AM

Joel McHale is so damn HOT.

by Anonymousreply 166January 16, 2024 1:05 AM

Joel McHale was so hot in Deliver Us From Evil, along with his hotter costar Eric Bana.

by Anonymousreply 167January 16, 2024 1:05 AM

You can pump your face with filler and Botox and get face lifts etc. but your body and mind are still aging. You can be 80 and look 50 but your body is still 80. It’s like todays youth are retarded.

by Anonymousreply 168January 16, 2024 1:05 AM

For the life of me, I don’t get the love for Drag Race. I tried to watch it once and couldn’t make it through five minutes.

by Anonymousreply 169January 16, 2024 1:06 AM

R163 Boris

by Anonymousreply 170January 16, 2024 1:06 AM

Well, at least we don't have to listen to Da'Vine Joy or Paulie G tonight.

by Anonymousreply 171January 16, 2024 1:06 AM

Arsenio still looks good.

by Anonymousreply 172January 16, 2024 1:06 AM

Joel was super hot in The Bear with grey hair and beard.

by Anonymousreply 173January 16, 2024 1:06 AM

Arsenio Hall?

by Anonymousreply 174January 16, 2024 1:07 AM

No standing ovation for Arsenio.

by Anonymousreply 175January 16, 2024 1:07 AM

How has Arsenio not aged in 35 years.

by Anonymousreply 176January 16, 2024 1:07 AM

They’re also advancing medicine regarding your INNER health and brain.

The ones who are triggered by that post about aging are already old as fuck and it’s too late for them so they’re BITTER.

by Anonymousreply 177January 16, 2024 1:07 AM

Is Joel gay?

by Anonymousreply 178January 16, 2024 1:07 AM

From Deadline’s live blog:

That’s a lot of drag queens squeezed onto a single stage.

by Anonymousreply 179January 16, 2024 1:08 AM

Joel was peak hot in The Bear because not only was his look perfect, he played an unrepentant asshole.

by Anonymousreply 180January 16, 2024 1:08 AM

R177 none of that works. How stupid. You believe your body can be preserved? No. You’re a human. You’ll age. You’re a retard. Just shut the fuck up. You don’t even have a job.

by Anonymousreply 181January 16, 2024 1:09 AM

Mary R177, you need some medicine for your INNER health and brain.

by Anonymousreply 182January 16, 2024 1:09 AM

Joel uses a hair piece.

by Anonymousreply 183January 16, 2024 1:09 AM

Arsenio is 67!

by Anonymousreply 184January 16, 2024 1:09 AM

R181 triggered old fuck

by Anonymousreply 185January 16, 2024 1:10 AM

I was expecting a lot more for the 75th Emmys. Maybe it'll pick up the pace.

by Anonymousreply 186January 16, 2024 1:10 AM

The Always Sunny dudes have aged nicely.

by Anonymousreply 187January 16, 2024 1:11 AM

I like this nostalgia-based Emmys, but enough with the people bitching about how they never won.

by Anonymousreply 188January 16, 2024 1:11 AM

I wonder if Danny and Rhea are avoiding each other tonight.

by Anonymousreply 189January 16, 2024 1:11 AM

Get Momma to shut the Philadelphia idiots up.

by Anonymousreply 190January 16, 2024 1:11 AM

Can someone please post a link to a medical website that can stop the aging process? TIA

by Anonymousreply 191January 16, 2024 1:11 AM

Awwww, I loved the Danny DeVito shoutout to Rhea Perlman. At one point they were separated…

by Anonymousreply 192January 16, 2024 1:12 AM

Are Rhea and Danny back together? Also where's Shelley Long?

by Anonymousreply 193January 16, 2024 1:13 AM

Awww, I like Trevor, glad he won.

by Anonymousreply 194January 16, 2024 1:13 AM

Trevor Noah is quite cute but horrifically unfunny.

by Anonymousreply 195January 16, 2024 1:13 AM

Hope The White Lotus wins everything

by Anonymousreply 196January 16, 2024 1:13 AM

Why is Jimmy Fallon never nominated?

by Anonymousreply 197January 16, 2024 1:13 AM

Never mind Shelley. Where's Kirstie Alley?

Oh right.....

by Anonymousreply 198January 16, 2024 1:14 AM

Shelley Long is so mentally ill she couldn't even attend her daughter's wedding.

by Anonymousreply 199January 16, 2024 1:14 AM

[quote]Why is Jimmy Fallon never nominated?

Because he's a humorless unfunny talentless drunken CUNT R197.

by Anonymousreply 200January 16, 2024 1:15 AM

Sunny is a great show

by Anonymousreply 201January 16, 2024 1:15 AM

Xenu called her home R198.

by Anonymousreply 202January 16, 2024 1:15 AM

Trevor Noah seemed like he wanted to kiss the woman sitting next to him when he won, but she wouldn't even stand up and just shook his hand. He isn't married, don't know if that was a girlfriend or date.

by Anonymousreply 203January 16, 2024 1:16 AM

Is anybody alive from I Love Lucy? Maybe Gale Gordon - from the later Lucy shows - will make an appearance.

by Anonymousreply 204January 16, 2024 1:16 AM

The Daily Show has been unwatchable for years. The only decent show in that category was Seth Meyers.

by Anonymousreply 205January 16, 2024 1:16 AM

Juno Temple looks like a crackhead.

by Anonymousreply 206January 16, 2024 1:19 AM

Juno's makeup or lack thereof is bad.

by Anonymousreply 207January 16, 2024 1:20 AM

I tended to always like The Daily Show monologue but it wasn't very good once it got to the interview.

by Anonymousreply 208January 16, 2024 1:20 AM

Can’t believe it’s only 1 hour 20 minutes into this show—feel like it’s been on for hours!

by Anonymousreply 209January 16, 2024 1:21 AM

Ooh this momma joke is bombing.

by Anonymousreply 210January 16, 2024 1:23 AM

Pompeo has man-face.

by Anonymousreply 211January 16, 2024 1:23 AM

Where is TR Knight??

by Anonymousreply 212January 16, 2024 1:23 AM

What makes the evening so much longer is the lack of surprise winners. All the winners so far has been ho-hum

by Anonymousreply 213January 16, 2024 1:24 AM

they let Heigl out of tv jail for the night

by Anonymousreply 214January 16, 2024 1:24 AM

Grey's Anatomy was overrated crap and that Chandra Wilson had a few Emmy nominations that she didn't deserve.

by Anonymousreply 215January 16, 2024 1:24 AM

Wasn’t Sandra Oh on GA?

by Anonymousreply 216January 16, 2024 1:24 AM

The Gray’s cast looks great. All of them. Although it’s hard to believe at one time Justin Chambers was a top male model.

by Anonymousreply 217January 16, 2024 1:24 AM

Where is The sexiest man alive, McDreamy?

by Anonymousreply 218January 16, 2024 1:24 AM

WTF is that fat slob munching on?

by Anonymousreply 219January 16, 2024 1:25 AM

This guy is really snacking? Lol.

by Anonymousreply 220January 16, 2024 1:25 AM

Justin done anything since Grey’s?

by Anonymousreply 221January 16, 2024 1:25 AM

I haven't watch Grey's Anatomy in years, I was once addicted to it.

by Anonymousreply 222January 16, 2024 1:26 AM

Fat guy walks to the stage chewing!

by Anonymousreply 223January 16, 2024 1:26 AM

Paul Walter Hauser clearly didn’t think the was going to win. He was shaking and did a bit that seemed intended to just be shown during the nominee presentation.

by Anonymousreply 224January 16, 2024 1:26 AM

R185 what were you expecting? It’s an awards show. Retard jobless motherfucker

by Anonymousreply 225January 16, 2024 1:26 AM

Fat pig.

by Anonymousreply 226January 16, 2024 1:26 AM

Hawser’s rather annoying but he was amazing in Black Bird.

by Anonymousreply 227January 16, 2024 1:27 AM

Weirdo.

by Anonymousreply 228January 16, 2024 1:27 AM

is rhea w danny

by Anonymousreply 229January 16, 2024 1:27 AM

Is Paul Walter hauser a diversity winner?

by Anonymousreply 230January 16, 2024 1:27 AM

Maybe it's not the year of Ozempic.

Fat guy, please stop.

by Anonymousreply 231January 16, 2024 1:27 AM

"Suck out the marrow?" That must have been what he was dining on.

by Anonymousreply 232January 16, 2024 1:27 AM

Seems disrespectful to hold the statue upside down.

by Anonymousreply 233January 16, 2024 1:28 AM

First time I've seen someone pull out their phone to read a rhyming acceptance speech. While eating.

by Anonymousreply 234January 16, 2024 1:28 AM

I guess God told him to eat food right before his category.

by Anonymousreply 235January 16, 2024 1:28 AM

“Hawser’s rather annoying but he was amazing in Black Bird.”

Not so sure he was acting.

by Anonymousreply 236January 16, 2024 1:28 AM

For your luxury dump in the middle of the road….Kohler.

by Anonymousreply 237January 16, 2024 1:29 AM

Did he have a plastic bag of pork rinds on him?

by Anonymousreply 238January 16, 2024 1:29 AM

He missed an opportunity to make some nice money - he should have had a branded bag of something he was eating. Then the next day there could be a cheeky commercial featuring an Emmy winner chowing down.

by Anonymousreply 239January 16, 2024 1:30 AM

I’ve only ever seen Justin Chambers in The Wedding Planner and Greys. I never got the appeal.

by Anonymousreply 240January 16, 2024 1:30 AM

It was somehow all the grosser not seeing any food in his hands. It was all in mouth getting munched on throughout his speech.

by Anonymousreply 241January 16, 2024 1:31 AM

The Hammaconda!!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 242January 16, 2024 1:32 AM

It was even more gross when he kissed that woman on the lips with his mouth full.

by Anonymousreply 243January 16, 2024 1:33 AM

I like Sharon Horgan

by Anonymousreply 244January 16, 2024 1:34 AM

No! Long, Long Time should have won.

by Anonymousreply 245January 16, 2024 1:34 AM

These hip hugger pants really don't work well with tux jackets.

by Anonymousreply 246January 16, 2024 1:34 AM

Is White Lotus worth another try. I tried two episodes of the first season and just couldn't get into it.

by Anonymousreply 247January 16, 2024 1:34 AM

hamm looks dour.

by Anonymousreply 248January 16, 2024 1:34 AM

The Oscar’s should take note from the Emmy’s. This is moving smoothly.

by Anonymousreply 249January 16, 2024 1:34 AM

The promoted Tina Fey and Amy Poehler an hour ago. Is that still happening?

by Anonymousreply 250January 16, 2024 1:35 AM

No no no no…The Last of Us should have won.

by Anonymousreply 251January 16, 2024 1:36 AM

JFC, R249..

NOT Emmy's, not Oscar's. Do you idiots really not understand that's saying "Oscar is" or "Emmys is"?

Emmys. not Emmy's

Emmys, not Emmy's.

Emmys, not Emmy's.

by Anonymousreply 252January 16, 2024 1:36 AM

[quote] Is White Lotus worth another try. I tried two episodes of the first season and just couldn't get into it.

The first season - which I greatly preferred - started off slowly. But it was worth the wait.

by Anonymousreply 253January 16, 2024 1:36 AM

Whenever I see Tom I think of everyone side eyeing him for his Golden Globes speech.

by Anonymousreply 254January 16, 2024 1:36 AM

I feel like this show has been on for two days. Boy, is it slooooooooooooooooooooooow.

by Anonymousreply 255January 16, 2024 1:37 AM

Alexander Skarsgard brought Kenneth!

by Anonymousreply 256January 16, 2024 1:37 AM

Dammit Swarm was so good.

by Anonymousreply 257January 16, 2024 1:37 AM

He’s cute

by Anonymousreply 258January 16, 2024 1:38 AM

We don't care, R252. Take it an outrage Reddit thread.

by Anonymousreply 259January 16, 2024 1:39 AM

Bill Hader was very cozy with Ali Wong in the seats.

by Anonymousreply 260January 16, 2024 1:39 AM

OK, I'm officially tired of Beef and The Bear.

ENOUGH.

by Anonymousreply 261January 16, 2024 1:40 AM

R255 then turn it off. Simple.

by Anonymousreply 262January 16, 2024 1:40 AM

R260 they’re dating

by Anonymousreply 263January 16, 2024 1:40 AM

R259, if you feel comfortable not know ing what most of us learned in the 6th grade, I wouldn't advertise that. But stupid people like you are too stupid to be embarrassed.

by Anonymousreply 264January 16, 2024 1:41 AM

R247 that is your call to make. Not everyone likes the same Things.

by Anonymousreply 265January 16, 2024 1:41 AM

I didn’t think beef was that good idk

by Anonymousreply 266January 16, 2024 1:42 AM

Ali Wong is bouncing on Bill's big bisexual cock every night.

Is she Bill's last stop before Gaytown?

by Anonymousreply 267January 16, 2024 1:42 AM

R247 the second season is better

by Anonymousreply 268January 16, 2024 1:42 AM

I loved both seasons of White Lotus but they each began slowly, taking a few episodes to really get going.

by Anonymousreply 269January 16, 2024 1:43 AM

Hader was married with kids when he dumped his wife for the new one. But I guess that means he's gay, too.

by Anonymousreply 270January 16, 2024 1:43 AM

They should take a page from the Oscars on this milestone occasion & roll out all the (living) acting award winners.

by Anonymousreply 271January 16, 2024 1:43 AM

BEEF was highly critically acclaimed and one of Netflix’s most streamed shows of last year.

by Anonymousreply 272January 16, 2024 1:44 AM

My brother is such an asswipe.

by Anonymousreply 273January 16, 2024 1:45 AM

I wish The Last of Us would win something, I like that show.

by Anonymousreply 274January 16, 2024 1:45 AM

[quote]BEEF was highly critically acclaimed and one of Netflix’s most streamed shows of last year.

Baffling.

by Anonymousreply 275January 16, 2024 1:46 AM

I'm sort of digging Jason Bateman's "controlled disheveled" look.

by Anonymousreply 276January 16, 2024 1:46 AM

I agree, Justine.

by Anonymousreply 277January 16, 2024 1:46 AM

The Last of Us won a few Emmys at the ceremony two weeks ago

by Anonymousreply 278January 16, 2024 1:46 AM

Jason Bateman’s hairpiece looks ridiculous, but he’s aging better than what I thought he would.

by Anonymousreply 279January 16, 2024 1:47 AM

Did the winning director bring up the losers? How humiliating!

by Anonymousreply 280January 16, 2024 1:47 AM

How many Emmy ceremonies do they need in one year?

by Anonymousreply 281January 16, 2024 1:47 AM

Sure are a lot of empty seats in that auditorium.

by Anonymousreply 282January 16, 2024 1:47 AM

Damn. What a waste of Tina and Amy.

Zero bite to any of those jokes.

by Anonymousreply 283January 16, 2024 1:49 AM

I wonder if they'll do an In Memoriam segment?

by Anonymousreply 284January 16, 2024 1:49 AM

Amy Poehler's looking good!

She had gotten quite fat for a while.

by Anonymousreply 285January 16, 2024 1:49 AM

You’ve got to be shitting me…hyping Tina and Amy for over an hour…for a 1-minute bit.

by Anonymousreply 286January 16, 2024 1:49 AM

Elton’s now an EGOT.

by Anonymousreply 287January 16, 2024 1:50 AM

[quote]How many Emmy ceremonies do they need in one year?

Six

by Anonymousreply 288January 16, 2024 1:50 AM

umm elton

by Anonymousreply 289January 16, 2024 1:50 AM

This British producer is quite dashing.

by Anonymousreply 290January 16, 2024 1:50 AM

This Elton John producer guy is cute.

by Anonymousreply 291January 16, 2024 1:50 AM

[quote] I wonder if they'll do an In Memoriam segment?

Unlike the Globes, they always do.

by Anonymousreply 292January 16, 2024 1:50 AM

did he say elty had an op?

by Anonymousreply 293January 16, 2024 1:50 AM

Elton John created the soundtrack for our lives?

by Anonymousreply 294January 16, 2024 1:51 AM

R256 and R267 nobody knows who the fuck you're talking about.

by Anonymousreply 295January 16, 2024 1:51 AM

The Elton producer looks like he doesn't wipe well.

by Anonymousreply 296January 16, 2024 1:51 AM

Elton is now an EGOT winner.

by Anonymousreply 297January 16, 2024 1:51 AM

An I LOVE LUCY tribute coming up!

Will Deb Messing finall get to play Lucy again? Or will it be Nicole??

by Anonymousreply 298January 16, 2024 1:51 AM

Sad last days, 293.

by Anonymousreply 299January 16, 2024 1:51 AM

It was like the dashing Englishman started saying Elton had an op......then caught himself and changed gears.

by Anonymousreply 300January 16, 2024 1:52 AM

A tribute to "I Love Lucy" from 70 years ago? Why not a tribute to "Your Show of Shows" or "The Burns and Allen Show"?

by Anonymousreply 301January 16, 2024 1:53 AM

Why was White Lotus totally overlooked at the Globes?

by Anonymousreply 302January 16, 2024 1:53 AM

[quote] A tribute to "I Love Lucy" from 70 years ago? Why not a tribute to "Your Show of Shows" or "The Burns and Allen Show"?

This IS the 75th Emmys.

by Anonymousreply 303January 16, 2024 1:55 AM

R302 because season 3 doesn’t exist yet.

White Lotus season 2 aired in 2022. They were nominated at the 2023 Golden Globes.

by Anonymousreply 304January 16, 2024 1:55 AM

Now that Succession is over, other shows will have a chance to win next time.

by Anonymousreply 305January 16, 2024 1:56 AM

McDermott still looking good.

by Anonymousreply 306January 16, 2024 1:57 AM

I guess I should watch Beef, or at least give it a try.

by Anonymousreply 307January 16, 2024 1:59 AM

Steven Yeun is cute but totally seems like the guy don’t want to get stuck talking to at a party.

by Anonymousreply 308January 16, 2024 1:59 AM

Gross.

Anyone but Steven Yeun should have won.

Daniel Radcliffe, Taron Egerton, and Evan Peters were ALL superior to Steven Yeun.

But we all know why he won.

And he's boring as shit, on top of everything else.

by Anonymousreply 309January 16, 2024 1:59 AM

Steven Yeun is hot and talented, but man is he fucking boring. He has zero personality.

by Anonymousreply 310January 16, 2024 2:00 AM

R309, did you even watch Beef? He won for the church scene.

by Anonymousreply 311January 16, 2024 2:00 AM

Evan Peters should've won.

by Anonymousreply 312January 16, 2024 2:00 AM

I tried to watch Beef but just couldn’t get into it.

by Anonymousreply 313January 16, 2024 2:00 AM

R300 it sounded like he said "he had a knee op".

by Anonymousreply 314January 16, 2024 2:01 AM

Sheryl Lee Ralph has the grandiosity of Phylicia Rashad, but isn't anywhere near as annoying.

by Anonymousreply 315January 16, 2024 2:02 AM

Asian women love them a white man

by Anonymousreply 316January 16, 2024 2:02 AM

I heard “knee op,” as well.

by Anonymousreply 317January 16, 2024 2:02 AM

Oh look, another DEI "win" for Beef.

White actresses get robbed again.

by Anonymousreply 318January 16, 2024 2:02 AM

Dylan McDermott is still INCREDIBLY hot.

He's so attractive.

by Anonymousreply 319January 16, 2024 2:03 AM

For a legit stand up comic, why are Ali Wong’s acceptance speeches so boring?

by Anonymousreply 320January 16, 2024 2:03 AM

Bill Hader, the new Norman Maine.

by Anonymousreply 321January 16, 2024 2:03 AM

I was pretty indifferent to Anthony Anderson before this.

I think I actively dislike him now.

by Anonymousreply 322January 16, 2024 2:03 AM

BEEF wasn’t my cup of tea but the acting and writing was top tier.

by Anonymousreply 323January 16, 2024 2:03 AM

hader said she didnt mention me at all

by Anonymousreply 324January 16, 2024 2:03 AM

R320 because she’s not performing… Jesus.

by Anonymousreply 325January 16, 2024 2:03 AM

R306 he drank all his looks away decades ago. Hard to believe he played Shelby's hangin' man.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 326January 16, 2024 2:04 AM

Joan Collins looks great.

by Anonymousreply 327January 16, 2024 2:04 AM

Dame Joan looks great.

by Anonymousreply 328January 16, 2024 2:04 AM

Is Taraji gonna start crying about something?

by Anonymousreply 329January 16, 2024 2:04 AM

Joan Collins is pretty awake for 90.

by Anonymousreply 330January 16, 2024 2:04 AM

R326 I think he looks better now than then.

by Anonymousreply 331January 16, 2024 2:05 AM

Joan Collins is wearing gloves to hide her old hands.

by Anonymousreply 332January 16, 2024 2:05 AM

Joan Collins is 90 years old! Madonna needs to call her plastic surgeon.

by Anonymousreply 333January 16, 2024 2:05 AM

JOAN FUCKING COLLINS!

by Anonymousreply 334January 16, 2024 2:05 AM

R316: $$$$$$

by Anonymousreply 335January 16, 2024 2:06 AM

Joan Collins looks amazing.

by Anonymousreply 336January 16, 2024 2:06 AM

Taraji looks not like Taraji.

by Anonymousreply 337January 16, 2024 2:06 AM

Uh oh, I think Dame Joan is expecting all the winners onstage to acknowledge her.

by Anonymousreply 338January 16, 2024 2:06 AM

Over rated CRAP.

Make this fucking shit show go away.

I've had with with DEI and Beef.

Thank goodness this is the last we'll have to hear about it.

by Anonymousreply 339January 16, 2024 2:06 AM

You guys really hate Asians

by Anonymousreply 340January 16, 2024 2:06 AM

who is the lothario in the front row with an open tux??

by Anonymousreply 341January 16, 2024 2:07 AM

[quote] Joan Collins is 90 years old! Madonna needs to call her plastic surgeon.

It helps if you start out life beautiful.

by Anonymousreply 342January 16, 2024 2:07 AM

Why rhe fuck were they talking about fashion to introduce that category?

by Anonymousreply 343January 16, 2024 2:07 AM

R316, and closeted gay or bi men love Asian women because they're not demanding (especially if they're coming off a divorce) and tend to have boyish bodies.

by Anonymousreply 344January 16, 2024 2:07 AM

Anthony Anderson is doing 1,000,000 times better than Jo Koy.

That's for damned sure.

by Anonymousreply 345January 16, 2024 2:08 AM

I can’t stand Jessica Chastain so I was happy to see her lose.

by Anonymousreply 346January 16, 2024 2:08 AM

[quote] I wonder if they'll do an In Memoriam segment?

It's coming.

by Anonymousreply 347January 16, 2024 2:09 AM

Beef Bear Succession.

Beef Bear Succession.

Beef Bear Succession.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

by Anonymousreply 348January 16, 2024 2:09 AM

Has "Beef" won anything?

by Anonymousreply 349January 16, 2024 2:09 AM

As nice as it was to see Joan Collins and Taraji P Henson, their intro made zero sense. I thought they were presenting an award for costume design…but they went from talking about their respective shows’ costumes, to presenting Best Limited Series!

by Anonymousreply 350January 16, 2024 2:09 AM

They were trying to find some kind of commonality between Dame Joan and Taraji, thus the fashion chat preceding the nominations.

by Anonymousreply 351January 16, 2024 2:09 AM

Chastain looked like she was seething deep down

by Anonymousreply 352January 16, 2024 2:09 AM

"I've had with with DEI and Beef."

So any minority show is DEI? Minority centered shows existed before DEI was even a thing. So you're basically saying that unless YOU approve of the win, it should be dismissed as DEI.

by Anonymousreply 353January 16, 2024 2:09 AM

Maybe next year it’ll be the Latinos’ turn to sweep all the awards.

Ha! Jk! We’re the invisible minority in Hollywood!

by Anonymousreply 354January 16, 2024 2:10 AM

Charlie Puth!

by Anonymousreply 355January 16, 2024 2:10 AM

Should I give in and start watching succession?

by Anonymousreply 356January 16, 2024 2:10 AM

Why, R356? I tried a few times, hated it, and let itgo.

by Anonymousreply 357January 16, 2024 2:11 AM

Succession is an amazing show.

It actually deserves all the accolades.

by Anonymousreply 358January 16, 2024 2:12 AM

Calm down R355, he's only there as a seat-filler.

by Anonymousreply 359January 16, 2024 2:12 AM

Has an Emmys ever happened where 3 shows swept the categories? Seriously. Julianne Moore level of seriously.

by Anonymousreply 360January 16, 2024 2:13 AM

Unless you didn't like it, R358. We don't all respond the same way.

by Anonymousreply 361January 16, 2024 2:13 AM

R357 Everyone (including my sister) goes on about how good it is and I feel I’m missing out.

by Anonymousreply 362January 16, 2024 2:14 AM

The watch it, R362 and decide for yourself.

by Anonymousreply 363January 16, 2024 2:15 AM

Is Anthony Anderson high?

His eyes are bloodshot.

by Anonymousreply 364January 16, 2024 2:17 AM

Coleman!

by Anonymousreply 365January 16, 2024 2:18 AM

That was it for 75 years of memories?! And no JFK assassination?

by Anonymousreply 366January 16, 2024 2:18 AM

Gay stuff!

by Anonymousreply 367January 16, 2024 2:18 AM

A very selective 75 years.

by Anonymousreply 368January 16, 2024 2:19 AM

Fags!

by Anonymousreply 369January 16, 2024 2:19 AM

I hope the memoriam section is soon.

by Anonymousreply 370January 16, 2024 2:20 AM

[quote] A very selective 75 years.

An extremely truncated 75 years.

by Anonymousreply 371January 16, 2024 2:20 AM

Uh oh…

by Anonymousreply 372January 16, 2024 2:21 AM

Taraji to complain tomorrow she had to carry that Old conservative white lady out on stage and should've been paid more.

by Anonymousreply 373January 16, 2024 2:21 AM

Her wife?!?

by Anonymousreply 374January 16, 2024 2:21 AM

Is this also a diversity win?

by Anonymousreply 375January 16, 2024 2:21 AM

Sally Struthers!!!!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 376January 16, 2024 2:22 AM

As a lesbian, I wish that Sarah Kate Ellis would talk more about GAY and LESBIAN people, rather than always about Trans people.

She barely (or did she even?) said a word about gays or lesbians.

by Anonymousreply 377January 16, 2024 2:22 AM

For a 75th Anniversary show, this is pathetic.

by Anonymousreply 378January 16, 2024 2:22 AM

She mentioned her wife, r377.

by Anonymousreply 379January 16, 2024 2:23 AM

Why are Rob and Sally standing so far apart?

by Anonymousreply 380January 16, 2024 2:23 AM

SALLY STRUTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 381January 16, 2024 2:24 AM

Who's the hottie in the audience?

by Anonymousreply 382January 16, 2024 2:24 AM

What a godess Sally is!

by Anonymousreply 383January 16, 2024 2:24 AM

I’m tired of this song sorry

by Anonymousreply 384January 16, 2024 2:25 AM

R378 it’s an awards show. Not a 75th anniversary special. Stop watching. Go get a job.

by Anonymousreply 385January 16, 2024 2:26 AM

I'm crying already at this tribute.

I don't even know why. It's just sad.

by Anonymousreply 386January 16, 2024 2:26 AM

Is Puth… kinda chubby??

by Anonymousreply 387January 16, 2024 2:26 AM

Good performance

by Anonymousreply 388January 16, 2024 2:27 AM

MARY, R386!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 389January 16, 2024 2:27 AM

This was lovely.

by Anonymousreply 390January 16, 2024 2:28 AM

Suzanne and Kirstie should've been the final images shown in the In Memoriam tribute.

by Anonymousreply 391January 16, 2024 2:28 AM

Ugh that asshole Matthew Perry got the last spot in the in memoriam section.

by Anonymousreply 392January 16, 2024 2:28 AM

Puth and that fucking notched eyebrow shit.

by Anonymousreply 393January 16, 2024 2:28 AM

I had no idea Kirstie Alley died.

by Anonymousreply 394January 16, 2024 2:29 AM

I don't remember Irene Cara dying.

This singer looks like he got fitted for his tux 2 months before the ceremony.

by Anonymousreply 395January 16, 2024 2:29 AM

They couldn't add Joyce Randolph?

by Anonymousreply 396January 16, 2024 2:29 AM

R391 no. They shouldn’t have.

Enough with the trolling. You’re an adult.

by Anonymousreply 397January 16, 2024 2:29 AM

IDK it just seems weird for applause for a Memoriam.

by Anonymousreply 398January 16, 2024 2:29 AM

Seemed like kind of a short list this year.

by Anonymousreply 399January 16, 2024 2:30 AM

Angela Lansbury deserved the last spot!

by Anonymousreply 400January 16, 2024 2:30 AM

[quote]Kirstie

Fuck that R391. The world's far better off without her insane clam bullshit.

by Anonymousreply 401January 16, 2024 2:30 AM

R396 she died days ago. She will probably be added to the 2024 awards show in September

by Anonymousreply 402January 16, 2024 2:30 AM

[quote] Suzanne and Kirstie should've been the final images shown in the In Memoriam tribute.

MAGA, R391!

by Anonymousreply 403January 16, 2024 2:30 AM

[quote] [R378] it’s an awards show. Not a 75th anniversary special. Stop watching. Go get a job.

But it is the 75th anniversary of an awards show.

by Anonymousreply 404January 16, 2024 2:30 AM

R396 They just featured people who died after Emmys 2022 and during 2023.

by Anonymousreply 405January 16, 2024 2:30 AM

They should go by date of death from Jan-Dec and not try to prioritize.

by Anonymousreply 406January 16, 2024 2:31 AM

Suzanne & Kirstie 4Ever.

by Anonymousreply 407January 16, 2024 2:31 AM

[quote] Seemed like kind of a short list this year.

Especially for a show delayed by months.

by Anonymousreply 408January 16, 2024 2:31 AM

Too bad Suzanne died. If she were living, maybe her and Ms. Joyce DeWitt could've done a Three's Company intro.

by Anonymousreply 409January 16, 2024 2:32 AM

Oh yeah, I'm sure they'll remember Joyce Randolph come September.

by Anonymousreply 410January 16, 2024 2:32 AM

Even the Golden Globes didn't have this many woke speeches.

by Anonymousreply 411January 16, 2024 2:33 AM

[quote] maybe her and Ms. Joyce DeWitt

Oh dear, R409.

by Anonymousreply 412January 16, 2024 2:33 AM

Boeuf and The Bear are winning everything.

by Anonymousreply 413January 16, 2024 2:34 AM

R406 Or alphabetical order.

by Anonymousreply 414January 16, 2024 2:34 AM

[quote] [R396] They just featured people who died after Emmys 2022 and during 2023.

Aden Canto, who died this month, was included.

by Anonymousreply 415January 16, 2024 2:34 AM

Fuck, Fox -- you sure you got enough damn commercials?!

by Anonymousreply 416January 16, 2024 2:34 AM

Apparently Anthony Anderson is host of a game show with his mother, never heard of it and had no idea.

I can't believe that Fellow Travelers didn't get any nominations.

by Anonymousreply 418January 16, 2024 2:35 AM

Calista banned Lucy Liu, Courntey Thorne Smith and Portia De Rossi from this?

by Anonymousreply 419January 16, 2024 2:35 AM

Robert Downey Jr. was too important for this bit.

by Anonymousreply 420January 16, 2024 2:35 AM

Oh deer

by Anonymousreply 421January 16, 2024 2:35 AM

OMG Gil Bellows! My crush of the 1990s/

by Anonymousreply 422January 16, 2024 2:36 AM

That was cute.

by Anonymousreply 423January 16, 2024 2:36 AM

R418, I'm preety sure it at least got one.

by Anonymousreply 424January 16, 2024 2:36 AM

Calista looks great

by Anonymousreply 425January 16, 2024 2:36 AM

Yes R419. She texted me that she did.

by Anonymousreply 426January 16, 2024 2:36 AM

I wish Lisa Nicole Carson was in this Ally McBeal presentation. Calista looks pretty good.

by Anonymousreply 427January 16, 2024 2:36 AM

They should have Lucy Arnaz and Desi Jr. make an appearance.

by Anonymousreply 428January 16, 2024 2:36 AM

*pretty

by Anonymousreply 429January 16, 2024 2:36 AM

Succession is killing it!

by Anonymousreply 430January 16, 2024 2:37 AM

No Jane Krakowski in the Ally McBeal bit either.

NONE of the main five female cast members?

by Anonymousreply 431January 16, 2024 2:38 AM

That Ally McBeal thing really was cute.

by Anonymousreply 432January 16, 2024 2:38 AM

Is he close with his brother?

by Anonymousreply 433January 16, 2024 2:38 AM

ugh another quivering speech from this weirdo

by Anonymousreply 434January 16, 2024 2:38 AM

“Glad YOU had a great childhood, Kieran.”

by Anonymousreply 435January 16, 2024 2:38 AM

Wow, Kieran thanked his mom AGAIN!

Such a contrast to Macauley who absolutely hates his mother.

by Anonymousreply 436January 16, 2024 2:38 AM

Kieran deserved to win, but I think it’s hilarious how Jeremy Strong was the only member of the main cast he didn’t thank (he mentioned J Cameron, Sarah, Brian and Alan).

by Anonymousreply 437January 16, 2024 2:38 AM

R420 he was only on one season and got himself fired from it

by Anonymousreply 438January 16, 2024 2:39 AM

Kieran "gets it" about parents.

They do the best they can, and it's because of them that you're even here.

So at least be grateful for that.

by Anonymousreply 439January 16, 2024 2:39 AM

R424 don’t even entertain r418. He knows Fellow Travelers will be eligible for the next Emmys. He’s doing it on purpose.

by Anonymousreply 440January 16, 2024 2:40 AM

Jodie's hair looks like shit.

by Anonymousreply 441January 16, 2024 2:41 AM

Jodie Foster from Courtship of Eddie's Father!

by Anonymousreply 442January 16, 2024 2:41 AM

I hope Linda Lavin makes an appearance. Too bad Bonnie Franklin passed. Imagine them presenting together.

by Anonymousreply 443January 16, 2024 2:41 AM

If Jodie Foster presents best actress to Sarah snook I'll die. Shiv season 1 reminds me of young Jodie.

by Anonymousreply 444January 16, 2024 2:41 AM

These are all the exact same winners from the Golden Globes.

by Anonymousreply 445January 16, 2024 2:41 AM

Kristin Stewart will look exactly like Jodie does today in 35-40 years.

by Anonymousreply 446January 16, 2024 2:41 AM

I like Snook's dress.

by Anonymousreply 447January 16, 2024 2:42 AM

Snook's dress is nice. 1000 times better than the GGs.

by Anonymousreply 448January 16, 2024 2:42 AM

Are you still with us, R444?

by Anonymousreply 449January 16, 2024 2:42 AM

so much red. too much red

by Anonymousreply 450January 16, 2024 2:42 AM

That girl(?) from "The Last of Us" is SOOOOOOOOOO UGLY.

It's so off-putting.

Very glad she didn't win.

by Anonymousreply 451January 16, 2024 2:43 AM

I’d love to be friends with Jodie. She just seems wonderful.

by Anonymousreply 452January 16, 2024 2:43 AM

R436 one was treated like a work horse and worked to support the family. The other had a normal childhood.

by Anonymousreply 453January 16, 2024 2:44 AM

Jodie had an intelligent look about her way back in that childhood picture.

by Anonymousreply 454January 16, 2024 2:44 AM

is Jeremy Strong insufferable?

by Anonymousreply 455January 16, 2024 2:45 AM

The Last of Us was overrated. It won the only Emmy it deserved (Nick Offermann for Guest Actor in a Drama).

by Anonymousreply 456January 16, 2024 2:45 AM

R418 & R424 Fellow Travelers wasn’t eligible for Emmys this year. It will be included in the next one, around September, I think. They were nominated for Golden Globes, Critics Choice & SAG awards this time. Only Jonathan Bailey has won so far for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series at Critics Choice. The other nominations for Matt Bomer and the show itself have been beat by Beef. Since Beef won’t be in the next round of Emmys, maybe they will have a better chance.

by Anonymousreply 457January 16, 2024 2:45 AM

R449 sorry, I died.

by Anonymousreply 458January 16, 2024 2:45 AM

by Anonymousreply 462January 16, 2024 2:48 AM

by Anonymousreply 464January 16, 2024 2:48 AM

R457 Emmy eligibility is from September to June. This is the 2023 Emmys. Everyone knows this but you people keep acting like this is news.

by Anonymousreply 465January 16, 2024 2:48 AM

Why did Succession wrap after only four seasons?

That's awfully short-lived for a well-received HBO drama.

by Anonymousreply 466January 16, 2024 2:48 AM

Jeremy Strong is a method actor, r455. So, yeah, probably insufferable.

He got on Brian Cox’s nerves.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 467January 16, 2024 2:49 AM

R463 that doesn’t say anything about the cast hating him.

by Anonymousreply 468January 16, 2024 2:49 AM

Kieran Culkin was my favorite character on Succession and it seems that a lot of people feel the same way.

by Anonymousreply 469January 16, 2024 2:50 AM

R466 you must be new. HBO shows dont last long.

by Anonymousreply 470January 16, 2024 2:50 AM

That I Love Lucy bit was a love letter to the eldergays of DL.

by Anonymousreply 471January 16, 2024 2:51 AM

Happy Days premiered 50 years ago this month. I'm surprised its surviving cast didn't make an appearance.

by Anonymousreply 472January 16, 2024 2:51 AM

😂 at the cutaways of Martin Short, Steve Martin, and Henry Winkler not even cracking a smile at Tracey Ellis’ Lucy bit.

by Anonymousreply 473January 16, 2024 2:51 AM

THAT was how they commemorated "I Love Lucy"? That sucked.

by Anonymousreply 474January 16, 2024 2:53 AM

R456 The episode Long, Long Time was nominated for writing and it was beautifully written. Should have won that one.

Cocaine is a helluva drug.

by Anonymousreply 483January 16, 2024 2:55 AM

Why was TITPIG left out of the In Memoriam?

by Anonymousreply 484January 16, 2024 2:55 AM

R475 it was not as good as the Wedding episode on Succession. At all.

by Anonymousreply 485January 16, 2024 2:55 AM

Longshot, but has anybody seen Hiam Abbass (Marcia, Succession) at the Emmys? I've been very curious about her given everything going on. Her daughter is nominated for an Oscar. "In her early 20s, Hiam Abbass left her native Palestinian village to follow her dream of becoming an actress in Europe, leaving behind her mother, grandmother, and seven sisters. 30 years later, her filmmaker daughter Lina returns with her to the village and questions for the first time her mother’s bold choices, her chosen exile and the way the women in their family influenced both their lives."

by Anonymousreply 496January 16, 2024 2:59 AM

No, you dumb bitch R470.

Game of Thrones had eight seasons. The Sopranos had six seasons. Six Feet Under had five. The Wire had five. Veep had seven. Curb Your Enthusiasm will have 12.

Wrapping an award-winning show after just four seasons is unusual for HBO.

by Anonymousreply 497January 16, 2024 2:59 AM

Alexander Skarsgard's face pleases me.

by Anonymousreply 498January 16, 2024 3:00 AM

Where is MLK's Emmy?

by Anonymousreply 499January 16, 2024 3:00 AM

Uh… the MLK clip is… a bit much.

by Anonymousreply 500January 16, 2024 3:00 AM

Well, it's a very British thing to do, r497. Look at Succession's creators/producers.

by Anonymousreply 501January 16, 2024 3:00 AM

R493 he has an American accent… always has.

by Anonymousreply 502January 16, 2024 3:01 AM

R500 For a racist. You wouldn’t say that if it was about gay rights.

by Anonymousreply 503January 16, 2024 3:02 AM

R497 Yes, many of their shows are ended prematurely. 5? This one was 4. Naming a series having one or two more seasons isn’t much of an argument you jobless retard.

The show was literally written to only be around 4 seasons. Stupid motherfucker. Educate yourself before speaking.

by Anonymousreply 504January 16, 2024 3:03 AM

Oh leave Dr King out of this nonsense.

by Anonymousreply 505January 16, 2024 3:03 AM

R439, there are plenty of parents who absolutely do not do their best. Case in point, Ma Culkin let Macauley hang out with wacko Jacko. People knew even back then he was a pedo. Both Culkin parents were stage parents in the worse sense. Love Kiernan, but he had a decent childhood because Macauley was the breadwinner (at 8 yrs old).

by Anonymousreply 506January 16, 2024 3:03 AM

Showing a clip of MLK on MLK day is shocking to someone?

by Anonymousreply 507January 16, 2024 3:05 AM

Not a racist, and yes I would, r503.

It was out of place.

by Anonymousreply 508January 16, 2024 3:05 AM

Cox was going to leave Succession, so they had to wrap it up as the entire plot was the kids vying for Dad's love.

by Anonymousreply 509January 16, 2024 3:06 AM

[quote] Jeremy Strong said he was 'hurt' that his 'Succession' costars appeared dismissive of his acting process in his New Yorker profile, but said things were 'presented out of context'

Actor Jeremy Strong says he was left feeling "hurt" after a December 2021 New Yorker profile about him suggested his "Succession" costars were dismissive of his intense method acting process.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Strong revealed the quotes from coworkers such as Brian Cox and Kieran Culkin, who play his father and brother respectively on "Succession," upset him, but said he doesn't think that is the whole story.

"A lot of that is just things that are presented out of context or with a certain agenda," Strong told THR. "I know what everybody said, and there was an angle and a narrative that was being presented."

"Which is not to say that there was never friction between my co-stars," he added. "We're a family in every sense of the word. But foundationally, there's deep respect and even love."

Strong pushed back a lot of what was written of him in that New Yorker article — and said that he, of course, sees the comedy in "Succession," he told THR.

"That's just ridiculous. Sometimes when I read it, I can't stop laughing. Of course it's a comedy. It's a comedy, it's a satire, it's a tragedy," he said. "What I meant more was that I don't treat it as a comedy in my lane."

He continued: "I'm never trying to make a joke. I'm not on a sitcom. I'm investing in the reality of those given circumstances and treating it the way I would treat a drama. So that the stakes are real. It's about investiture."

"Maybe it's just that difficult to feel exposed," Strong said of the article. "And so maybe it's simply that. I think there's a lot of truth to that."

"It was painful," he said at the time. "I felt foolish. As an actor, one of the most vital secret weapons that you can have is the ability to tolerate feeling foolish."

Neither Michael Schulman, who wrote the New Yorker article, nor the New Yorker immediately responded to Insider's request for comment.

Schulman told THR that his profile "invited interpretation."

"A lot of people felt like he came across as just an incredibly dedicated, hyper-committed artist," he told THR. "Some people saw him as a benign weirdo. And other people as an insufferable diva. I don't think any of those interpretations are wrong. And I think the piece went viral because it invited you to decide what you felt about this extreme person."

I'm truly pissed that Brian Cox didn't win Best Actor. Kieran Culkin swarms his way through each season with his impersonation of Robert Downey Jr. That church season in the last season screamed "GIMME AN EMMY!"

by Anonymousreply 511January 16, 2024 3:11 AM

*church scene

by Anonymousreply 512January 16, 2024 3:11 AM

R509 false. The show was literally written to be 4 seasons. The creator and writers had the entire show planned from the start. They had a game plan from start to finish. They never lost sight of that.

by Anonymousreply 513January 16, 2024 3:12 AM

I loved Succession but it was the same story every season. The kids try to dethrone Dad but he screws them in the end. It had to end before they jumped the shark.

by Anonymousreply 514January 16, 2024 3:13 AM

Brian Cox didn’t deserve the Emmy. He shouldn’t have even been in Lead. He was in 3 episodes.

by Anonymousreply 515January 16, 2024 3:13 AM

R514 it was literally planned to be a short series.

by Anonymousreply 516January 16, 2024 3:13 AM

[quote] I loved Succession but it was the same story every season. The kids try to dethrone Dad but he screws them in the end. It had to end before they jumped the shark.

Same thing goes for Yellowstone.

Costner is fighting the corporations coming for his ranch.

Rip acting like a dickhead.

Beth acting like a cunt.

Jamie being a weasel.

Kayce fighting with his chinese wife.

And the whole thing ending with a huge gunfight at the end of the season.

Both Succession and Yellowstone were wildly popular with viewers, but you can only use this formula for five seasons MAXIMUM, before it starts getting stale.

by Anonymousreply 519January 16, 2024 3:16 AM

Elton John is now an EGOT winner. I wonder how Madonna feels about that?

by Anonymousreply 520January 16, 2024 3:17 AM

My favorite Succession episodes, the first Thanksgiving where Logan’s commie brother comes from Canada, Tom’s Bachelor Party in the sex club in Queens and the visit to the horrible WASp family, who owns the business they want to buy. Such a great show.

by Anonymousreply 521January 16, 2024 3:18 AM

R520 Apparently nobody is thinking about it as as you . JFC. THAT’S what you think of the moment EJ wins an EGOT is how MADONNA feels?

Get a life you miserable cunt.

by Anonymousreply 522January 16, 2024 3:20 AM

The LUCY bit was sacrilege.

The Bear isn't a comedy.

by Anonymousreply 523January 16, 2024 3:23 AM

The Bear is a dramedy. It has a lot of drama but this humorous foundation. It feels like a dark comedy at times.

by Anonymousreply 524January 16, 2024 3:26 AM

I'm surprised that none of the other comedies have questioned The Bear's eligibility in the category. It is most definitely not a comedy. They only submit in the comedy category so they wouldn't have to go up against Succession and can win more awards.

Jesse Armstrong explains why ended it with season 4. He said when he stated season 2 he knew he would not let the show go past a 5th season. He ended up deciding to end it on 4th.

"The end has always been kind of present in my mind. From season 2, I've been trying to think: Is it the next one, or the one after that, or is it the one after that?" he told the outlet.

"I got together with a few of my fellow-writers before we started the writing of season 4, in about November, December, 2021, and I sort of said, 'Look, I think this maybe should be it. But what do you think?'" Armstrong said. "And we played out various scenarios: We could do a couple of short seasons, or 2 more seasons. Or we could go on for ages and turn the show into something rather different, and be a more rangy, freewheeling kind of fun show, where there would be good weeks and bad weeks. Or we could do something a bit more muscular and complete, and go out sort of strong. And that was definitely always my preference."

R525 it’s a dramedy. Yes. It fits in comedy.

by Anonymousreply 527January 16, 2024 3:30 AM

R522, It looks like you're the miserable cunt.

by Anonymousreply 528January 16, 2024 3:30 AM

R525 how would you even know if it’s eligible when you keep questioning Ayo’s win and claimed to not have watched the show… your posting history shows it’s you.

by Anonymousreply 529January 16, 2024 3:31 AM

I didn't like Jeremy Allen White's dinner jacket and bow tie.

by Anonymousreply 530January 16, 2024 3:32 AM

R529, Are you off your meds? I've never posted about any of that.

by Anonymousreply 531January 16, 2024 3:32 AM

The most important thing is that "Succession" is finally fucking over.

by Anonymousreply 532January 16, 2024 3:33 AM

R528 no, you are. You old dinosaur.

Why do people call Ayo Edibiri “Ireland’s treasure”? She seems popular there. I legit thought she must have been born elsewhere because of that plus her always mentioning moving to the states but I guess she’s a first generation American because she’s from Boston, born and raised.

She also graduated from NYU.

Shut up old ugly fuck. No one thought your attempt at a joke was funny.

R539 why are you posting the Critics Choice here? This is the Emmys thread. She was not at the Emmys.

by Anonymousreply 541January 16, 2024 3:49 AM

R247 White Lotus is okay. It’s good treadmill TV.

by Anonymousreply 542January 16, 2024 3:54 AM

Beef winning everything is ridiculous. Kieran getting one is deserved. Jodie Foster looks fabulous, and I can’t stand Sarah Snook. Why is Hannah Waddingham acting like she’s the Emmy personal pep squad?

This year’s Emmy show is really good. The salute to great tv shows was a great idea.

by Anonymousreply 543January 16, 2024 3:56 AM

My favorite moments: The Ally McBeal reunion, seeing Carol Burnett (in front of her old set....MARY!), Marla Gibbs, and Christina Applegate.

Grey's Anatomy's reunion was a bit dumb. Was Chandra Wilson high? She was giggling incessantly.

Wasn't Carol supposed to be presenting with Vicki?

by Anonymousreply 544January 16, 2024 3:57 AM

Rob Reiner and Sally Struthers......some ice cold body language there

by Anonymousreply 545January 16, 2024 3:59 AM

My thought exactly, R543. She was cheerleading all night. Attention whore.

Peter Dinklage used to be a serious druggie, as well as a drinker. Now it's almost exclusively sauce.

Meg Ryan looked good at the Kennedy Center Honors. She seems to have finally settled into her new face

by Anonymousreply 551January 16, 2024 4:24 AM

R521 my favorite moments: when Kendall kills the kid and goes running to his daddy, Shiv’s horrible dance at whatshisnames’s birthday party, Boar on the Floor, and the first time Roman and Jerry get after it. My eyes were bulging out of my head. Honorable mention to “L to the OG”. What a great show (except for human bread loaf Shiv and that’s IMHO).

I’m glad The Bear won, and it was a classy (how I hate that word) for Ebon MB to step in and help Matty with his speech. I really thought Succession would take it.

Sons of Anarchy got repetitive in the same way. The Club, the Family, blah blah.

by Anonymousreply 552January 16, 2024 4:30 AM

I loved Succession. I personally loved the first and final seasons the most. 2 and 3 were also great but that first season was amazing and so new and fresh. I just hated some of the camera work on the first season. The finale to season 1 was incredible.

Season 4 was a lot darker and very very sad and upsetting overall and that’s because of how well it was written. You’re supposed to feel these feelings the characters are feeling and the final season does an amazing job of that. “Connor’s Wedding” is one of the best written television episodes in years.

by Anonymousreply 553January 16, 2024 4:36 AM

R457 that's because Beef didn't have a contender in Bailey's category.

by Anonymousreply 554January 16, 2024 4:59 AM

The chocolate Emmys. Unwatchable.

by Anonymousreply 555January 16, 2024 5:01 AM

R553 you do realize Succession and The Bear are in two different categories ?

by Anonymousreply 556January 16, 2024 5:06 AM

Sorry r552 you do realize The Bear and Succession are in different categories yes?

by Anonymousreply 557January 16, 2024 5:07 AM

Why does Anthony Anderson's mother have to appear in every show he's hosting?

She was insufferable on "to Tell the Truth." And they even gave away a "bust" of her as a prize. Gag.

She is unfunny and has zero talent. I guess the acorn doesn't fall far from the tree,

by Anonymousreply 558January 16, 2024 5:07 AM

But you watched, it R555.

by Anonymousreply 559January 16, 2024 5:08 AM

With that said The Bear isn’t really a comedy

by Anonymousreply 560January 16, 2024 5:08 AM

Too late now.

by Anonymousreply 561January 16, 2024 5:12 AM

Same people winning the same awards as last night at Critics Choice and at Golden Globes.

Didn't seem special - just a repeat.

by Anonymousreply 562January 16, 2024 5:17 AM

R555 it was a joke you racist POS.

by Anonymousreply 563January 16, 2024 5:31 AM

R562 If you’re the best, you’re the best. What are you bitching about?

by Anonymousreply 564January 16, 2024 5:33 AM

I'm an hour into the show, and dare I say I'm actually liking it? I like the throwback presenters (Carol, Marla). And the speeches seem shorts and sweet.

Maybe it will fall apart soon enough.

by Anonymousreply 565January 16, 2024 5:50 AM

She's a nepo parent.

Never watched Ally McBeal, but the cast's bit was the best of the show.

by Anonymousreply 567January 16, 2024 10:24 AM

R566, She’s the black Miss Miller.

by Anonymousreply 568January 16, 2024 10:39 AM

R560 …and Succession isn’t really a drama.

by Anonymousreply 569January 16, 2024 11:25 AM

How is Succession not drama? It's a quintessential drama series, ffs.

by Anonymousreply 570January 16, 2024 11:28 AM

[quote] How is Succession not drama? It's a quintessential drama series, ffs.

I think that's the point Jeremy Strong was trying to make in the article at R510.

He took his role seriously, as a dramatic part.

Whereas, everyone else in the cast thought that they were doing a comedy.

The director should have made it clear to the cast, specifically what kind of show they were doing.

When you leave it up to the actor to interpret the role, you're going to get a show that's all over the place.

by Anonymousreply 571January 16, 2024 11:32 AM

I know it’s being discussed elsewhere, but congratulations to Elton John on his EGOT.

by Anonymousreply 572January 16, 2024 11:42 AM

It was black comedy—satire!

by Anonymousreply 573January 16, 2024 11:49 AM

I always liked the enigmatic Marcia, on Succession. It felt to me like there was a shift in plotline because the actress got a part on a comedy and was less available. I keep waiting for an interview with Jesse Armstrong where he clarifies how the show might have unspooled had they kept the character in the place they seemed to be positioning her to be.

I have been rewatching it and it strikes me how much chaos there is around the kids, especially when they are together and at a common purpose. The atmosphere is full of it in their scenes. They really weren't serious people.

by Anonymousreply 574January 16, 2024 12:37 PM

I liked "Succession" a lot, but I thought that "Better Call Saul" was a much better drama. But I think that BCS is a distant memory at this point.

by Anonymousreply 575January 16, 2024 12:44 PM

I'm guessing BCS had more knife edge drama, guns and death etc? Succession was mostly about I'm afraid when Dad yells at me.

by Anonymousreply 576January 16, 2024 12:50 PM

I wouldn't watch this shit at gunpoint, BUT I love when DL serves cunt in these threads, you cunty fuckers.

I love the actors in their other projects, but I think “The Bear” is hammy AF. I couldn’t even get through the second season. I enjoyed “Beef” but Ali Wong is the star player. I’m happy for Nash winning because she was great in Dahmer. I thought Peters was just okay, honestly. He’s better in everything else.

I'm hoping that Parker Posey can make S3 of White Lotus watchable.

by Anonymousreply 577January 16, 2024 12:57 PM

[quote] I’m happy for Nash winning because she was great in Dahmer.

And her acceptance speech was a definite highlight.

by Anonymousreply 578January 16, 2024 1:07 PM

Better Call Saul had 53 nominations and zero wins during its run. I think that is just wrong. I loved it! The writers and actors, all involved were outstanding.

by Anonymousreply 579January 16, 2024 1:11 PM

R576, yes, "Better Call Saul" was such a gripping drama, and there were many edge-of-your-seat scenes where you really didn't know what was going to happen. Also, the character arcs were complex and made you really feel for those people. For my money, the writing, directing, and acting were some of the best quality of any show on TV.

Most of the majors who won last night won last week at the Golden Globes and Critic's Choice. I knew they would win tonight, everyone knew they would win, but they still do that 'Oh My God, I's so surprised!" act.

by Anonymousreply 587January 16, 2024 3:32 PM

Odenkirk is already doing Lucky Hank now on AMC.

Not sure if it got renewed for a second season, though.

I don't know how this guy keeps getting work. His shows SUCK!

Yet he keeps getting nominated for awards.

I never saw even one episode of Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul, because they both looked boring as hell.

Same for Lucky Hank.

It is astounding to me that Bob Odenkirk has the career that he does.

He is so ordinary.

by Anonymousreply 590January 16, 2024 3:57 PM

It's a shame that Lucas Pascal had so much internalized homophobia that he turned himself into that. He was non binary for 2 years before going full tranny btw.

by Anonymousreply 591January 16, 2024 4:03 PM

Pedro and Lucas look more like father and son, than brothers.

What's the age difference?

Are they only half-brothers?

Enjoyed the cast reunions but the writing was weak. I mean, both Martin and Always Sunny did these “we never even got nominated!” bits that went on and on and on.

The Bear fucked itself for the 2024 Emmy’s. It did NOT win for its first season…all those wins were based on the second season.
