David Gergen looks and sounds ancient

He’s 81 but sounds 91.

George CONway helped to install 45, he cried tears of joy on election night.

Sad. I always liked listening to him years ago.

So young.

R1, if Prof. Eddie Glaude, a Democrat, can be forgiven for not voting for Hillary, surely George Conway, a Republican, can be forgiven for not voting for her, either. He’s more than established his anti-Trump bona fides in the ensuing years.

I was expecting that but still very sad to learn of his death. David Gergen was so clear and perceptive in his commentary, and also very refined in his interactions on panels. He was a great thinker, and a lovely man in person, too. I met him briefly during graduate school in New Haven. He was a very modest but quietly imposing presence.
