Ice-T and Vivica Fox

I just can't with their Car Shield commercials.

I can understand why Vivica would do the cheesy ads. She no doubt needs the money.

But Ice-T? The guy is raking in hundreds of thousands per episode on Law & Order SVU.

He's worth in the tens of millions of dollars.

These commercials are SO ridiculous. I'm kind of embarrassed for both of them.

I wonder how much money they get for doing these commercials?

It cracks me up that Vivica takes this "role" so seriously!

A check's a check!

That latest commercial is thuggish and in poor taste.

by Anonymousreply 4January 13, 2024 5:25 AM

Just because an actor is presumably doing well financially, it doesn't mean that they won't take other offers to increase their wealth. Maybe he signed on to these commercials for some, as my Grammy used to say, "pin money"

by Anonymousreply 5January 13, 2024 5:38 AM

Have you ever considered he just really believes in the product?

by Anonymousreply 6January 13, 2024 5:41 AM

Maybe Ice-T is not making as much money as you think from Law & Order. He and his wife pride themselves on having all kinds of hustles. They did a reality show a long time ago, before they had their daughter. IIRC, their house was on the east coast. It looked like they were comfortable, financially, but their house did not super-expensive.

by Anonymousreply 7January 13, 2024 5:42 AM

Maybe they really believe in it?

by Anonymousreply 8January 13, 2024 5:46 AM

According to this, Ice-T is worth $65,000,000 and makes $250,000 PER EPISODE of Law & Order SVU.

Trust me, he doesn't need the money.

Like most celebs he is probably supporting an entourage of hangers-on

by Anonymousreply 10January 13, 2024 5:55 AM

Parade magazine seems to have confirmed his $250,000 per episode salary.

And that's not including royalties from syndication.

Also, Ice-T has been with the show since 2000. Even though he probably wasn't earning as much at the beginning, he has still been with the show for 23 years, meaning that he has probably accumulated a LOT of wealth from his salary and royalties.

His wife, alone, is a lot to support, let alone hangers-on.

I can't bear to watch him in anything, his acting in the law show is so bad.

Is he any better in the commercials?

by Anonymousreply 14January 13, 2024 8:37 AM

I love Vivica, and these commercials.

I never knew he was so funny.

Vivica makes me cringe in those commercials. The first time I saw on, I said "what the fuck happened to her" to my husband. Remember the move "Two Can Play That Game"? God, she was unbelievably hot and had lady swagger.

by Anonymousreply 17January 13, 2024 10:04 AM

I mean...Vivica is a working lady. ALWAYS has been. She's in a worse "position" than Taraji B. Henson

by Anonymousreply 18January 13, 2024 10:23 AM

Vivica produces (and often stars in) "The Wrong..." movie series for Lifetime. I think there have been 35 of them made. She's got 10 upcoming projects listed on her IMDB. And she never whines to the press about having to drive herself to work.

by Anonymousreply 19January 13, 2024 10:44 AM

I think she was/is hosting some crime show, too.

by Anonymousreply 20January 13, 2024 10:53 AM

She really commits to her role at R3, doesn't she?

Lol.

by Anonymousreply 21January 13, 2024 11:09 AM

R3. I love this one.

by Anonymousreply 22January 13, 2024 11:12 AM

What is going on with the Iceman's hair?

by Anonymousreply 23January 13, 2024 11:12 AM

She was so hot in Kill Bill.

You're right r20, she does host a crime show.

by Anonymousreply 24January 13, 2024 11:13 AM

Get that coin, Miss V!

by Anonymousreply 25January 13, 2024 12:24 PM

R10. "Now dats da ansuh." I would bet that Ice takes care of some old rap buddies.

by Anonymousreply 26January 13, 2024 12:56 PM

Ice T has really had a stellar career—especially considering he isn’t exactly the greatest actor. Loved his rap back in the day. He must be smart because he has done really well.

by Anonymousreply 27January 13, 2024 1:07 PM

The one set in a barber shop with Allen Iverson makes the one OP posted look like high art.

by Anonymousreply 28January 13, 2024 1:34 PM

Vivica actually has to work and will probably take whatever she's offered. She probably didn't end up with the career she wanted or thought she was going to have, but she's doing what she needs to do.

by Anonymousreply 29January 13, 2024 1:36 PM

Vivica is a beautiful black woman in a business with other beautiful black women and not enough roles to go around. I didn’t know about all her producing until reading this thread. Good for her.

by Anonymousreply 30January 13, 2024 1:38 PM

Vivica was in the most famous catfight in soaps on Generations against Jonelle Allen. Vivica sounds like she's legit having an asthma attack.

Yes, but Ice-T also is notoriously ̶c̶h̶e̶a̶p̶ frugal.

Even back in his pimp and dealer days he installed payphones in all his residences. No free calls for guests!

He's a baller but unlike many ballers who go broke, T is a huge hustler, so he will stay in money.

by Anonymousreply 32January 13, 2024 2:38 PM

[quote] Remember the move "Two Can Play That Game"? God, she was unbelievably hot and had lady swagger.

Yes! I loved "Two Can Play That Game"! Vivica was hot and did have swagger in that. IIRC, that movie also starred Gabrielle Union.

Biggest Scam on the planet. The company is targeting African Americans for after-market warranties. I got one once when I purchased a used luxury car that was going to be out of warranty in a year. One of the parking sensors when bad and I tried to use my after-market warranty to cover it. They say "Take it to any shot, we got you covered..." uh huh. I took it to a local shop, that specialized in foreign cars as I knew they would not pay dealer rates. They denied my claim saying they don't cover radar detectors. I said it is a parking sensor and your paperwork says you do cover it. The woman on the phone acted like she had never heard of a parking sensor and I had to explain it to her for 20 minutes what it was and what it did. They still denied it. So I wrote a bad review on the BBB site. I got a call the next day from the Manager (she made a point of telling me she was the manager) and I again had to explain what a parking sensor was.....despite telling her to just read their fucking contract. She said, "we will cover it if you remove your bad review." I got to pick up my car and the shop told me they only covered the part which was 100 dollars, not the labor which was 300 dollars. They said their shop rate was too high. The woman there told me "we have the lowest shop rate. These after-market companies are a scam." I agreed. I canceled my contract. I had to write...a letter, not typed but handwritten (these were their requirements) - send it registered requesting to cancel it. Then they took nine months to send me a partial refund.

by Anonymousreply 44January 13, 2024 8:44 PM

I wonder if Vivica was offered the part of Shug in the new remake of 'The Color Purple' ? She would've made it the hit movie it never became.

R34 You nailed it. A big scam obviously targeting the African American market. Shame on Ice T and Fox for participating in this scam.

The biggest scammers are those pushing the burial life insurance policies where the actual payout isn’t enough for a sturdy cardboard box. Noone is going to give a big policy to an old person for even hundreds a month.

by Anonymousreply 47January 14, 2024 12:12 AM

I am curious. What channels are you guys watching with these commercials. Whenever I do see a commercial, it's usually for some drug that fixes one thing but causes three other things.

by Anonymousreply 48January 14, 2024 12:40 AM

Ion runs their ads.

by Anonymousreply 49January 14, 2024 2:08 AM

by Anonymousreply 50January 14, 2024 2:12 AM

HTF does this guy have an acting career? His work on SVU is completely heinous.

by Anonymousreply 51January 14, 2024 7:46 AM

R34 Y'know, this labor being two or three times MORE expensive than the actual parts is FUCKING ridiculous.

In theory, I understand that it can be grueling work and everyone should be paid a compensating wage, but they really have you over a barrel if you don't know shit about cars. I wonder how much mechanics actually take home. I've never met a rich one.

by Anonymousreply 52January 14, 2024 10:47 AM

Ice-T has a very high maintenance wife.

by Anonymousreply 53January 14, 2024 12:51 PM

One of my ex-boyfriends was a mechanic for a dealership, He got (at the time) 25 dollars an hour. The rate they charged customers was 4 times that at 100 an hour (at the time).

by Anonymousreply 54January 14, 2024 1:23 PM

R54 One of my best friends was in the same situation, working for a Subaru dealership (where I bought my car). He was making $30 / hr as 'head technician' which was a great salary for him in 2017 - 2021. However, the dealer was charging the customer $125 an hour for labor.

by Anonymousreply 55January 14, 2024 4:59 PM

Ice T would eat his own shit on camera if someone would pay him to do it.

by Anonymousreply 56January 14, 2024 7:40 PM

Ice T is a hard worker and will never leave SVU. He is one of the most popular celebrities on Cameo. He pumps out those birthday greetings like nobody’s business.

by Anonymousreply 57January 15, 2024 1:33 AM

He works hard on that show because he knows once it's over it'll likely be a long time before he gets another acting job of any note.

[quote] Coco Austin's New Photo With Daughter Chanel & Husband Ice-T's Adult Kids Gives a Peek at Their Blended Family Dynamic

It’s all love in the “Ice family.”

On Sunday, Coco Austin, 44, gave fans a glimpse at the blended family dynamic between herself, her husband Ice-T, 65, their daughter Chanel, 8, and Ice-T’s adult kids, son Tracy Jr., 32, and daughter LeTesha, 47.

The group of five enjoyed a meal at a hibachi restaurant, posing for a photo while holding matching cocktails — save for Chanel, who smiled as she pinched a paper umbrella between her fingers. The model and LeTesha sported matching playful pouts, while the rapper and Tracy Jr. gave the camera relaxed smiles. “The ‘Ice family’ 🧊,” Austin captioned the Instagram post.

Fans adored the happy blended family moment, with one Instagram user commenting, “Such a beautiful family you’ve created.” Another well-wisher echoed the sentiment, adding, “Ice you make beautiful kids😊.”

Others joked that the family needs to make sure Chanel has a mocktail to match their cocktails during their next outing. “give my baby a mocktail exactly like the drink y’all drankin 🥰🥰🥰🤣,” one person wrote. Another fan commented, “She needs a Shirley Temple,” and one demanded on Chanel’s behalf, “Somebody better give you a little mocktail of your own RIGHT NOW.”

The family of five also came together in February 2023 to support the Law & Order: SVU alum as he received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Ice-T lovingly addressed his wife and kids during his acceptance speech, saying, “Let me shout out my family. My son, my daughter, Coco my wife. [Chanel], who obviously is in the position to stand behind one of these podiums one day. She has no fear of the stage,” he joked about his youngest, who stood by his side as he spoke to the crowd.

While he didn’t become a dad until later in life with Chanel, Ice-T welcomed LeTesha with his former girlfriend, Adrienne, when they were still in high school in 1976. Nearly two decades later, the rapper welcomed Tracy Jr. in 1991 with ex-girlfriend Darlene Ortiz, whom he was with for 17 years before their split in 2000. And after almost 14 years of marriage to Austin, Ice-T became a new dad one last time when Chanel was born in 2015.
