I bought towels from Costco (Charisma) that I like a lot but I’ll need to replace soon
Where are we buying towels from?
by Anonymous | reply 56 | February 5, 2024 10:37 AM |
Macy's - all my towels are Lacoste and are great
by Anonymous | reply 1 | January 13, 2024 12:20 AM |
Marshall's or Target
by Anonymous | reply 2 | January 13, 2024 12:32 AM |
I bought half a dozen from Wayfair recently and blown away by the quality.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 13, 2024 1:28 AM |
I bought some new towels at Nordstrom's a couple weeks ago.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 13, 2024 1:31 AM |
I bought towels at Target ten years ago (on the recommendation of a DL thread like this one) and they're still going strong.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 13, 2024 1:32 AM |
JCP or Kohls
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 13, 2024 1:54 AM |
Second Target. Their Casaluna waffle towels look and feel very high-end and last forever.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 13, 2024 1:58 AM |
Any good "January White Sales" deals?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 13, 2024 2:04 AM |
Land's End has surprisingly nice ones.
Still mourning the loss of Fieldcrest Charisma, though.

Are you seeing a connection here?
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 13, 2024 2:12 AM |
I just bought some supima bath towels I like from Lands End. Usually they're $35. One day last month, they were $10. I bought six. They remind me of a set of towels I really liked in the '80s, but had not found again. I'll be buying more of them.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 13, 2024 2:15 AM |
R11 Supima is softer and more durable than regular cotton. Wise choice.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 13, 2024 2:29 AM |
I bought some from American Soft Linen a few months ago nd really love them.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 13, 2024 2:31 AM |
High quality towels don't wear out. We are still using mother's monogrammed ones (trousseau 1948) and her older sister's (no date, but she's been dead for 20 years). Unfortunately, grandmother's are long gone, though some of her monogrammed linen napkins get brought out every Christmas.

Turkish and Egyptian Souks. They grow the cotton and turkey weaves a lot, for all the best brands.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 13, 2024 3:14 AM |
I can't believe you people are so lazy that you buy commercial towels instead of weaving your own.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | January 13, 2024 3:21 AM |
I use mine until they're threadbare.

I get all my towels from my Dad who is in the military (retiring next year) and gets lots of high grade USMC towels. Have had some going as far back as Desert Storm.and it still is in great shape.

My towels were bought in the 80s, “Royal Velvet” by Fieldcrest. They were in storage for ten years but other than that, still look brand new. Unfortunately they are mauve color, all the rage back then, but I don’t care. Also they have been lined-dried for the last decade and a half. Dryers really shorten the life of garments.

In a good way or a bad way r3?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 13, 2024 12:47 PM |
Good, r20. Turkish cotton bath sheets. Best I've ever owned.
Quality can be hit or miss on Wayfair though.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 13, 2024 1:43 PM |
I only use bath sheets and the best place to get them is HomeGoods or Marshalls.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 13, 2024 1:51 PM |
R16 store bought is fine.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 13, 2024 1:58 PM |
R22 Marshalls? HomeGoods?
That's where the Poors shop.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | January 13, 2024 1:59 PM |
A bath sheet from Marshalls or HomeGoods will dry your ass just as well as one from Neiman Marcus.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | January 13, 2024 2:02 PM |
Kohl's has well priced Egyptian cotton sets.
The Turkish towels are a bit rough on the skin.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | January 13, 2024 2:15 PM |
I've bought a few things from Home Goods, including a bath sheet I like. I found a couple of Fieldcrest hand towels at Goodwill. They weren't really my colors, but the quality was so good. I do miss Charisma. They had such good products. It was worth paying extra because they lasted and felt great.

Land’s End
The Company Store

Just curious, but why do the colors matter? The towel was a color you didn't like?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | January 13, 2024 9:07 PM |
r29, They probably mean that the color of the towels did not match the colors of their kitchen. That powder blue SIMPLY won't DO next to the Periwinkles on my wallpaper and toaster cover.

Is that a thing? Do I have to turn in my gay card because I didn't know that?
by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 13, 2024 9:41 PM |
r31, I think we can forgive you just this once! Yes, it is a thing, I have gotten more than One "hiss" from my partner over things like that.

Ralph Lauren from Bloomingdale's (and from Macy's in the past)

If you were blown away by how APPALLING the quality is, I might buy it. Wayfair is total garbage. I'd sooner buy from Costco!

Ugh. Such plebeian choices. As per always, I SOLELY use Frette linens, washed and starched weekly. Unlike the cheap shit you cunts are suggesting, Frette sheets actually *last*.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | January 14, 2024 1:35 AM |
Santo cielo. Frette is patently aspirational. And the topic is towels, not bed linens. But if you must discuss linen, and you must buy new, try American Bella Notte. Or SFERRA if you insist on Italian. Isabelle Adjani and I know the best bed linens are vintage French and Swiss. Any linen from St Gallen up through the 1980s should do.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | January 14, 2024 1:53 AM |
Target and I love them.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | January 14, 2024 1:54 AM |
What brand of towels is everyone buying from TARGET ?
by Anonymous | reply 38 | January 14, 2024 2:01 AM |

I've tried both. The former was most closely evocative of Martha Stewart's 1000-thread-count line for Kmart; I had a rash for weeks after merely touching them. Sferra will always be the Avis to Frette's Hertz, dear: #2, but hey, they try harder! (Just not hard enough.)
By the way, I meant their finer lines, not the admittedly aspirational Hotel Collection.

I bought all these Frette towels when I moved into my apartment a couple of years ago... they suck...
I was in Bloomingdales last month and asked the saleslady what she thought were the best and she directed me to a brand called Abyss & Habidecor. She said they were the "Rolls Royce of towels" - I agree. I absolutely love them... linked below
R9, I went to visit my parents recently and liked the towels they had in my bathroom... I noticed they were Fieldcrest Charisma, r9... Very nice.

I buy Breeze laundry detergent. It comes with a free towel in every box!
by Anonymous | reply 42 | January 14, 2024 2:22 PM |
Target Threshold label. Absorbent, durable, reasonably priced and they come in great colors.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | January 14, 2024 2:41 PM |
Thank You R43 I will be shopping there next weekend.

Sometimes I forget just how poor, Darfur is. Do you use leaves to dry off, Darfur or the sun?

what about mirrors? where can i buy a nice wall mirror? i'm looking at cb2
also I need to buy patio furniture. good quality and tasteful. please recommend!
by Anonymous | reply 47 | February 4, 2024 11:13 PM |
Kohls, I use hand towels, no bath towels. Easy to blot dry sections of body with a few small towels, toss in hamper.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | February 4, 2024 11:25 PM |
I buy my vowels from Vanna White
by Anonymous | reply 49 | February 5, 2024 12:16 AM |
I have switched to microfibre towels! I love them but they are hideous. I wish they weren’t so ugly because I love them but dammit, they’re grim.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | February 5, 2024 12:30 AM |
I am currently using mostly Brooklinen Classic (also use Brooklinen sheets). I've purchased Fieldcrest from Target before and really liked them; couldn't find them last time I looked.

I want to adopt Darfur Orphan and give him a nice upper middle class life and education.
His experiences alone might get him admitted to a good school, if he's really got the smarts. (Rather him than another entitled Asian)

I get Missoni towels because they're something different, and those zig-zags are classic.

Repainted bath and bedroom and bought a couple towel sets from Lands End. Good quality. Decent price. Wash cloths are a little larger than I am used to . . .
