I don’t know why but this upset me. That’s Shiv Roy! No one had a single question to ask and just stood there in silence?!
The Press asked Sarah Snook zero questions?!
by Anonymous | reply 89 | January 20, 2024 1:21 PM |
I hated the 2 episodes of Succession I watched but have no problem with her as an actress. That said, she was the most boring guest I’ve ever seen on The Graham Norton Show. She doesn’t have “it”.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | January 8, 2024 11:49 PM |
This post wl get zero responses other than the customary, complimentary, bitchy R1--and can you blame us?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | January 8, 2024 11:49 PM |
who
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 8, 2024 11:51 PM |
Well she isn’t someone Hollywood is trying to make some leading lady r1. She’s doing theatre next I believe.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 8, 2024 11:52 PM |
R3 = Kendall Roy
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 8, 2024 11:52 PM |
She gave a very one note performance on Succession. I don't think that show will age well.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 8, 2024 11:54 PM |
R6 WHAT?!!! Lmaoooooo no.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 8, 2024 11:55 PM |
She was fantastic as Shiv.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 9, 2024 12:00 AM |
All she did was pull faces and repeat "Yeah?" "Yeah??" "yeah." I figured out the series ending at the end of season 2, and I've seen everything that writer had made up to that point. I just don't think that the acting or story was all that great. The show makes people feel like they are part of this moment, that ordinary people have insight into the lives of the ultra rich, but it's not really saying anything profound. It's one of the first in a cottage industry of shallow stories about ultra rich people (Glass Onion, Murder at the End of the World, etc.)
by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 9, 2024 12:01 AM |
I like her, but yeh?
She is not really engaging, yeh?
Succession was hit or miss, yeh?
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 9, 2024 12:02 AM |
Imagine signing onto another account to repeat yourself. 🤡 when does it end?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 9, 2024 12:04 AM |
She needs some ozempic
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 9, 2024 12:05 AM |
The show has finished its run. Unless she has some scandal or big project brewing, she’s no longer news.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 9, 2024 12:06 AM |
I do like her but she definitely doesn't have any sort of 'it' factor. She was the only one I could stand on Succession.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | January 9, 2024 12:07 AM |
R1. She was definitely a dud (but a nice one) on Graham Norton and he usually brings out the best in his guests. She seemed pleasant but not terribly exciting.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 9, 2024 12:09 AM |
Questions? She’s not the first born son.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | January 9, 2024 12:12 AM |
She’s Australian and is an actress. Not a movie star. Shes the theatre type or tv type (depending on the character) but not someone who will ever be a movie star or anything. And that isn’t a bad thing.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | January 9, 2024 12:12 AM |
Moon face. It's not even interesting that she's Australian. When any male character wanted to fuck her... treat her something beyond a slam pig, I sniggered because she's no babe. Pasty. And I don't see a career with her in demand. I'd think "An I missing something?" Why is this plump, haughty nerd bitch showcased like she's something special, what am I not getting??
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 9, 2024 12:18 AM |
R18 As stated more than once, SHE IS NOT BEING PUSHED AS A HOLLYWOOD LEADING LADY. Why do you keep repeating yourself????
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 9, 2024 12:20 AM |
R12 She just had a baby & is thinner than she was on the last season.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 9, 2024 12:33 AM |
It’s because they hated her dress and her show is over. No one needs a story on her so no questions.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 9, 2024 12:48 AM |
I don’t like her hooded eyelids. They freak me out.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 9, 2024 1:04 AM |
Agree. That dress was a turn off.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 9, 2024 3:03 AM |
r22 = Julie Chen
by Anonymous | reply 24 | January 9, 2024 3:06 AM |
She's a very good actress, and she was never plump before she had the baby. She just seems like a nice Aussie girl who likes a laugh (which is good because her husband is a comedian).
by Anonymous | reply 25 | January 9, 2024 11:30 AM |
Jeremy Strong never participates with the rest of the cast. What was his excuse this time?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | January 9, 2024 11:31 AM |
R25 She was putting on weight before she was pregnant.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | January 9, 2024 11:31 PM |
R19 How do you know she doesn't want the lead? She could want to be Suzanne Somers for all we fucking know.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | January 9, 2024 11:50 PM |
It's weird that they asked her nothing. She was very good as Shiv Roy.
No one talks about her gigantic ass - that thing needs its own zip code.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | January 9, 2024 11:53 PM |
r28 Very true
by Anonymous | reply 30 | January 9, 2024 11:53 PM |
R25 She's not a very good actress. More like adequate if uninspiring.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 9, 2024 11:53 PM |
Never heard of her.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | January 10, 2024 12:00 AM |
You didn't see her name in the title of this post that you clicked in to explore?
by Anonymous | reply 33 | January 10, 2024 12:18 AM |
Yeah, but no
Maybe?
But no
by Anonymous | reply 34 | January 10, 2024 12:20 AM |
I wanted them to ask why she thought wearing that dress would be a good idea.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | January 10, 2024 12:24 AM |
They just wanted to keep the line moving so they could ask Christopher Nolan or Cillian Murphy how it feels to win over Bradley Cooper and Greta Gerwig.
"One question! Did you rub it in their face?"
by Anonymous | reply 36 | January 10, 2024 12:37 AM |
R26 he was working. He’s in a play in Manhattan. He had shows yesterday. The awards are in LA.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | January 10, 2024 12:41 AM |
This reflects more on the press than her.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | January 10, 2024 1:13 AM |
They were all shocked into silence by the enormous butt plug she was holding
by Anonymous | reply 39 | January 10, 2024 1:23 AM |
She will rarely get the opportunity to play a rich woman again with her somewhat common looks. She would be best cast as a medieval milkmaid.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | January 10, 2024 1:32 AM |
I’ve only seen her in “Holding the Man”, and she was great in that. It was a supporting role, but there was a lot of depth there.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | January 10, 2024 1:39 AM |
OP: great post. That is SERIOUSLY weird. Was that the end of the clip, had they been asking her questions? I literally have been in this exact room before - they ALWAYS have questions, ALWAYS.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | January 10, 2024 4:06 AM |
I was bored with her character by the end of Succession.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | January 10, 2024 1:55 PM |
As others have noted, her show is over & she has nothing to sell at this point. That & she seems more like a working actress rather than a *star* like Margot Robbie - not that it's a bad thing, but just not the kind of clickbait these guys are looking for. Some kind older yenta-type should've told her she's a lovely girl, but that dress does her no favors. Bare midriffs are for very skinny 20 year olds & you are neither. Go old Hollywood glamour that accentuates your tits
by Anonymous | reply 45 | January 10, 2024 2:02 PM |
She doesn't have big tits. She has a gigantic ass. She either needs to get a bigger rack or go KardashianAss for attention.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | January 16, 2024 4:18 AM |
She dressed better for the Emmys.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | January 16, 2024 4:28 AM |
I binged Succession over the holidays and was underwhelmed. I think it is one of the most overrated shows of recent memory. Loved Kieran Culkin, by the way, but the writing for his character was garbage.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | January 16, 2024 4:39 AM |
R48 definitely didn’t watch the show or has terrible taste.
Stick to Disney+ shows
by Anonymous | reply 49 | January 16, 2024 4:40 AM |
R47 yes but she looked best last night at the Critics Choice.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | January 16, 2024 4:40 AM |
I feel embarrassed for her. That must have been slightly humiliating.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | January 16, 2024 4:44 AM |
I don't get the love for "Succession."
I tries watching one episode out of curiosity and found it boring.
Later, I returned to it for the final season and it seemed marginally better. But the dialogue was too precious for words. A lot of actors overstepping each other. And this was drama?
I found the final season of "The Crown" vastly superior.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | January 16, 2024 4:53 AM |
I watched the first two seasons of the Crown and never looked at it again.
I was glued to the screen for every episode of Succession, every season.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | January 16, 2024 4:56 AM |
Succession tried to be another Sopranos. It wasn't. The Umm Ahhh Errr dialogue was hard to bare.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | January 16, 2024 4:59 AM |
You're an idiot, r49, but nice try. I'm apparently not the only one not getting the hype. I wonder if it is different watching it over several seasons versus binging it in a week, which is how I watched it. I found it repetitive, slightly boring, and that a lot of the characters' actions didn't make sense. Good acting, though.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | January 16, 2024 5:24 AM |
I was late to Succession. I started it when it was already in its third season. I enjoyed it, though didn't absolutely love it. I doubt I'll watch it again.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | January 16, 2024 5:49 AM |
Succession was like TV written by accountants to entertain management consultants.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | January 16, 2024 6:37 AM |
Next month Sarah Snook opens in London's West End in a solo performance of "The Picture of Dorian Gray." If it goes well it might very well wind up on Broadway.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | January 16, 2024 7:01 AM |
She's got a snook in her sniv.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | January 16, 2024 7:31 AM |

R54 only they’re literally nothing alike.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | January 16, 2024 9:23 AM |
Succession’s writing was top tier and the acting was phenomenal. Even the guest stars. It’s a brilliant series.
R55 allegedly thinks the world revolves around him. What you like isn’t a reflection of everyone. Welcome to adulthood.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | January 16, 2024 9:26 AM |
yeh?
by Anonymous | reply 63 | January 16, 2024 11:39 AM |
There are some posters who are EXTREMELY invested in Succession and get unhinged at any criticism that states it is less than the best show that they have ever seen. I really don’t get the obsession. Snook/Shiv was pretty on the show but is butt ugly in that GG picture.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | January 16, 2024 12:24 PM |
I watched Succession. Enjoyed it but was wearying of the circular plotting. Through the seasons, the story never advanced. The three siblings just squabbled over who would take charge and the golden child constantly changed . The stuff on the side was fun to watch though. The business associates, Marcia (needed more of her). Connor’s delusional political ambitions. But Logan summed up the siblings: you are not serious people. All their machinations were them fooling themselves. Just talk. The scene that nailed it was at the end of the Italian wedding episode when it’s revealed that Logan had brought over a massive team of people to work on a deal and the siblings had no awareness of it.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | January 16, 2024 1:03 PM |
R64 the unhinged one is the person who thinks his personal criticism makes it a fact or speaks for everyone. You’re a nobody dear
by Anonymous | reply 66 | January 16, 2024 1:07 PM |
I wish they’d stop asking me questions.

I think they were appalled into silence by that thing she’s wearing.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | January 16, 2024 2:06 PM |
She was very good in Sucession. The part was good already but she made it her own. It is no coincidence she is winning all these awards. Very well deserved.
I liked Sucession a lot and at the same time I understand some people may not like it. It is not a difficult concept, this.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | January 16, 2024 2:53 PM |
Succession is a tragedy.
Ken, Roman, and Shiv as a team have the ability to lead. But individually, each is flawed & they don’t trust one another.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | January 16, 2024 3:42 PM |
You're now talking to multiple posters, r66, DEAR. Maybe just take a moment, touch some grass, and evaluate why you're so triggered by us expressing our opinions on a forum designed for that very purpose. All of my posts clearly state that this is my own opinion (I think, I found it to be, etc.)
by Anonymous | reply 72 | January 16, 2024 4:50 PM |
r70 "It is not a difficult concept, this."
Let's don't.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | January 16, 2024 8:59 PM |
Shiv fucked over Kendall BAD in the end. If I were him I would never ever speak to her again.

R74 She put Tom ahead of Ken.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | January 16, 2024 9:11 PM |
I hate Tom. I kind of love him but hate him at the same exact time. His face is so punchable. And yes, Tom’s face is punchable, not Matthew. He seems lovely. Tom is smug for no reason.
Did Tom ever find out Shiv cheated on him?
by Anonymous | reply 76 | January 16, 2024 9:15 PM |
It's appalling!
We will not stand for this!
We may sit for it.

This is one of those "could have been phenomenal" shows but it drifted all over the place.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | January 16, 2024 9:24 PM |
very repetitive. should have been shorter.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | January 16, 2024 9:25 PM |
I don't think the criticism of Succession is entirely unwarranted, but as an actress, Snook did a good job making audiences care about - and at times root for - a very unlikable person. Shiv was very tough & even mean at times, but she had moments of vulnerability & hurt that made you think she wasn't so bad after all (until she did the next cold, underhanded thing)
by Anonymous | reply 80 | January 16, 2024 11:33 PM |
And none of them with an ounce of self awareness
by Anonymous | reply 81 | January 17, 2024 12:34 PM |
R78 the show never drifted. It was a very tightly written series. I think you claiming this shows you never watched.
You kept asking why it ended with 4 seasons and then claim it drifted all the time when it never drifted once and that is why it ended soon, to keep it from drifting.
by Anonymous | reply 82 | January 17, 2024 1:25 PM |
R81 that’s normal is families like that.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | January 17, 2024 1:25 PM |
The series is called “succession”. The premise is who will be the successor to the patriarch. The show never once drifted. It stayed on track and was phenomenally written. “Connor’s Wedding” episode is one of the best tv episodes in years.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | January 17, 2024 1:27 PM |
[quote] I think you claiming this shows you never watched.
What happened to you to make you like this? What part of "art is subjective" is so hard for you to understand? Exactly where on the spectrum are you?
by Anonymous | reply 85 | January 17, 2024 6:04 PM |
I think Jeremy Strong started with the “yeahs” as an acting tic. Being around that in scenes and for years, Sarah picked it up. Kind of like being an American in the UK as an example. After a while one picks up the cadence and quirks of the people around them.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | January 17, 2024 6:50 PM |
R86 that’s natural. We all pick up on what we are around often. That’s why the whole argument about white people who speak in Ebonics is stupid. They aren’t cosplaying as black when they grew up in a black area around black people. Usually they act like the environment they grew up in. Same with black people who grow up in very white areas. They get criticized for being “uppity” or an “Oreo” when that’s nonsense. Your skin color doesn’t give you an automatic way of speaking and acting. It’s all about environment.
by Anonymous | reply 87 | January 17, 2024 6:53 PM |
Well stated, r80
by Anonymous | reply 88 | January 18, 2024 3:20 AM |
R87, I'm not sure about that. In Season 2 of The Wire there's a great scene where one of the minor drug dealers is talking the heavy patois we all know from the show. The white dock worker who is trying to get some sense out of him considers him for a while and says, "Man, I don't know how to tell you this without hurting your feelings, but...you're white."
