The Press asked Sarah Snook zero questions?!

I hated the 2 episodes of Succession I watched but have no problem with her as an actress. That said, she was the most boring guest I’ve ever seen on The Graham Norton Show. She doesn’t have “it”.

She gave a very one note performance on Succession. I don't think that show will age well.

All she did was pull faces and repeat "Yeah?" "Yeah??" "yeah." I figured out the series ending at the end of season 2, and I've seen everything that writer had made up to that point. I just don't think that the acting or story was all that great. The show makes people feel like they are part of this moment, that ordinary people have insight into the lives of the ultra rich, but it's not really saying anything profound. It's one of the first in a cottage industry of shallow stories about ultra rich people (Glass Onion, Murder at the End of the World, etc.)

I like her, but yeh?

She is not really engaging, yeh?

I do like her but she definitely doesn't have any sort of 'it' factor. She was the only one I could stand on Succession.

R1. She was definitely a dud (but a nice one) on Graham Norton and he usually brings out the best in his guests. She seemed pleasant but not terribly exciting.

She’s Australian and is an actress. Not a movie star. Shes the theatre type or tv type (depending on the character) but not someone who will ever be a movie star or anything. And that isn’t a bad thing.

And I don't see a career with her in demand. I'd think "An I missing something?" Why is this plump, haughty nerd bitch showcased like she's something special, what am I not getting??

She's a very good actress, and she was never plump before she had the baby. She just seems like a nice Aussie girl who likes a laugh (which is good because her husband is a comedian).

She will rarely get the opportunity to play a rich woman again with her somewhat common looks. She would be best cast as a medieval milkmaid.

I’ve only seen her in “Holding the Man”, and she was great in that. It was a supporting role, but there was a lot of depth there.

I was bored with her character by the end of Succession.

As others have noted, her show is over & she has nothing to sell at this point. That & she seems more like a working actress rather than a *star* like Margot Robbie - not that it's a bad thing, but just not the kind of clickbait these guys are looking for. Some kind older yenta-type should've told her she's a lovely girl, but that dress does her no favors. Bare midriffs are for very skinny 20 year olds & you are neither. Go old Hollywood glamour that accentuates your tits

I binged Succession over the holidays and was underwhelmed. I think it is one of the most overrated shows of recent memory. Loved Kieran Culkin, by the way, but the writing for his character was garbage.

I don't get the love for "Succession."

I tries watching one episode out of curiosity and found it boring.

Later, I returned to it for the final season and it seemed marginally better. But the dialogue was too precious for words. A lot of actors overstepping each other. And this was drama?

I found the final season of "The Crown" vastly superior.

I watched the first two seasons of the Crown and never looked at it again.

I was glued to the screen for every episode of Succession, every season.

Succession tried to be another Sopranos. It wasn't. The Umm Ahhh Errr dialogue was hard to bare.

I wonder if it is different watching it over several seasons versus binging it in a week, which is how I watched it. I found it repetitive, slightly boring, and that a lot of the characters' actions didn't make sense. Good acting, though.

I was late to Succession. I started it when it was already in its third season. I enjoyed it, though didn't absolutely love it. I doubt I'll watch it again.

Succession was like TV written by accountants to entertain management consultants.

Next month Sarah Snook opens in London's West End in a solo performance of "The Picture of Dorian Gray." If it goes well it might very well wind up on Broadway.

There are some posters who are EXTREMELY invested in Succession and get unhinged at any criticism that states it is less than the best show that they have ever seen. I really don’t get the obsession. Snook/Shiv was pretty on the show but is butt ugly in that GG picture.

I watched Succession. Enjoyed it but was wearying of the circular plotting. Through the seasons, the story never advanced. The three siblings just squabbled over who would take charge and the golden child constantly changed . The stuff on the side was fun to watch though. The business associates, Marcia (needed more of her). Connor’s delusional political ambitions. But Logan summed up the siblings: you are not serious people. All their machinations were them fooling themselves. Just talk. The scene that nailed it was at the end of the Italian wedding episode when it’s revealed that Logan had brought over a massive team of people to work on a deal and the siblings had no awareness of it.

She was very good in Sucession. The part was good already but she made it her own. It is no coincidence she is winning all these awards. Very well deserved.

I don't think the criticism of Succession is entirely unwarranted, but as an actress, Snook did a good job making audiences care about - and at times root for - a very unlikable person. Shiv was very tough & even mean at times, but she had moments of vulnerability & hurt that made you think she wasn't so bad after all (until she did the next cold, underhanded thing)

You kept asking why it ended with 4 seasons and then claim it drifted all the time when it never drifted once and that is why it ended soon, to keep it from drifting.

The series is called “succession”. The premise is who will be the successor to the patriarch. The show never once drifted. It stayed on track and was phenomenally written. “Connor’s Wedding” episode is one of the best tv episodes in years.

I think Jeremy Strong started with the “yeahs” as an acting tic. Being around that in scenes and for years, Sarah picked it up. Kind of like being an American in the UK as an example. After a while one picks up the cadence and quirks of the people around them.

R86 that’s natural. We all pick up on what we are around often. That’s why the whole argument about white people who speak in Ebonics is stupid. They aren’t cosplaying as black when they grew up in a black area around black people. Usually they act like the environment they grew up in. Same with black people who grow up in very white areas. They get criticized for being “uppity” or an “Oreo” when that’s nonsense. Your skin color doesn’t give you an automatic way of speaking and acting. It’s all about environment.

R87, I'm not sure about that. In Season 2 of The Wire there's a great scene where one of the minor drug dealers is talking the heavy patois we all know from the show. The white dock worker who is trying to get some sense out of him considers him for a while and says, "Man, I don't know how to tell you this without hurting your feelings, but...you're white."
