Eyes of Laura Mars (1978)

Great thriller starring Faye Dunaway and Tommy Lee Jones. Captures NYC circa 1977. Is this movie flawed? Hell yeah! But it is extremely entertaining and will hold your attention, especially if you like seeing Faye in her glory days, NYC, Hair, makeup, fashion, interior design, serial killers and murder on full display.

Full movie in linked video.

I agree, OP. I love this one, for the fashion and the era and its grandness.

The Columbus Square scene is my favorite. The crashed vehicles on fire and the models posing in front of them.

I like when she tells the stylist to cover the models eye with a swoop of her hair.

All I remember is Faye looking silly sporting and being dwarfed by an enormous wool scarf.

Has a great theme song belted by Babs. Jon Peters produced the movie hence the Babs connection.

Preposterous plotting and boring execution

Time Out

A shallow, chic confusion of eyes, camera lenses, and saleable images of violence of the sort it now purports to question as an 'issue'.

Back when Tommy Lee Jones was cute. And let's not forget the AMC Pacer that Laura Mars drove.

R11 maybe you’ve never seen this movie or forgotten? He’s not cute.

R12 I thought he was good-looking in his younger years with long hair when I saw the movie last month.

R13 you have lousy vision or poor taste in men. That uni brow he sported was disgusting

Been called an American version of Italian “giallo” films. Enjoyable.

The Helmut Newton style photos which were mostly by Rebecca Blake were intriguing to me. Violence and nudity.

The whole premise of Laura Mars looking and acting like she did was such a farce. Some assistant would hand her a camera and she herself would strike a catwalk pose after coming fresh out of wardrobe, hair and makeup then click click of the shutter. All done!
