Any Rich Little fans out there? He's 85, and you can still get tickets to his Las Vegas show at the Tropicana, Sun - Thu

I've never been a Rich Little fan in particular, ..but he is so engaging and likable in this clip, celebrating a bygone era of all the greats. . This was probably recorded 2022 / Little references Joe Biden . Rich Little had a memoir published in 2022.

Back in the day, I remember seeing Rich Little on tv all the time

by Anonymousreply 1January 2, 2024 5:11 PM

Rich Little is still alive????

He was all over TV in the 60s and 70s, as r1 said. I was a big fan of him as a kid. So handsome and gifted at impersonations.

I don't think I've heard a peep about him in the past 40 years. Am stunned to know he's alive and still doing shows in Vegas.

by Anonymousreply 2January 2, 2024 5:25 PM

I can do an amazing Rich Little impression.

by Anonymousreply 3January 2, 2024 5:26 PM

Same as r2. My dad loved him.. That's stamina. He and Dionne Warwick could take an act on the road. She could help wean him off hair dye and embrace the snowy white.

Engaging and likeable?

When a clip starts with someone talking about the good old days of no crime and now there's a terrible invasion of illegals with a look ahead to when Americans are a minority in their own country, I tune out. He probably hated those ActUp rabblerowsers in the 80s, too.

Why do people keep reminding me that there is inequity and pain and suffering in the world? I just want to leave my doors unlocked and pretend everything is hunky doory like when I was a kid.

Maybe someone should remind him nazis were killing millions of people at the same time he was living in the crime free north. Sucky times ain't new, just new to him. 🤯

R5 again...I forgot something...

Happy New Year! šŸ„³šŸ˜‰

by Anonymousreply 6January 2, 2024 5:44 PM

OP probably enjoys the Hootenanny shows at Branson, Missouri too.

by Anonymousreply 7January 2, 2024 5:46 PM

R7 And the fair and balanced reporting of Fox not to mention the peaceful tourists who visited the Capitol on 1/6/21. 🤭

by Anonymousreply 8January 2, 2024 5:50 PM

I had no idea Rich Little was still alive — he sure was a mainstay of pop culture during my youth. I remember being gobsmacked when he showed up on The Young and the Restless pretending to be Brad Carlton on the phone.

I also thought The Tropicana hotel/casino in Las Vegas had closed and had been demolished… guess I really need to pay more attention.

by Anonymousreply 9January 2, 2024 7:18 PM

R5 You know he did.

OP, He's a long time far right winger who has done the religious right tours of The 700 Club, etc.

so I'd bet he loved to get your $$$ for all of his right wing causes.

Rich Little isn't even American. He was born in Canada.

by Anonymousreply 11January 2, 2024 11:01 PM

Haven't thought about him in decades. Would have guessed he was dead.

by Anonymousreply 12January 2, 2024 11:03 PM

I remember being turned on by him impersonating Groucho Marx in a nudist colony on HBO back in the 70s.

by Anonymousreply 13January 2, 2024 11:22 PM

[quote] Any Rich Little fans out there?

No.

by Anonymousreply 14January 2, 2024 11:23 PM

Pretty sure the Tropicana has been demolished.

by Anonymousreply 15January 2, 2024 11:27 PM

My teenage self was so embarrassed in the ā€˜70s when, after a Rich Little concert (!), my sister asked him if Paul Lynda was gay.

by Anonymousreply 16January 2, 2024 11:30 PM

Rich Little spoke many of David Niven’s lines in two Pink Panther films. Niven had Lou Gehrig’s disease and was unable to articulate properly.

by Anonymousreply 17January 2, 2024 11:34 PM

I see impersonations of dead people.

by Anonymousreply 18January 2, 2024 11:34 PM

It was weird to see him this summer on reruns of "The Patty Duke Show" and "The Muppet Show", then see this thread and think, "Jesus, that fucker is still alive?!". Yet all but 'Ross' from "TPDS" and Jim Henson, most of the original puppeteers and creative staff from The Muppets are all gone.

by Anonymousreply 19January 2, 2024 11:36 PM

An impressionist whose impressions are all alike!

by Anonymousreply 20January 2, 2024 11:54 PM

I remember him hosting the new ā€œYou Asked For Itā€ in the early 80s.

Meh.

by Anonymousreply 21January 2, 2024 11:56 PM

I worked with Rich Little for a several days in the mid-1970s. His wife was there the first day or so...and as soon as she left, his girlfriend arrived.

by Anonymousreply 22January 3, 2024 12:17 AM

R11 He probably moved to the US to avoid paying higher taxes for their health care system.

by Anonymousreply 23January 3, 2024 3:50 AM

He does a great Johnny Carson.

by Anonymousreply 24January 3, 2024 4:07 AM

R24 I'd never do a Johnny Carson.

by Anonymousreply 25January 3, 2024 4:23 AM

The Tropicana is still there but is slated for demolition. They're going to put a baseball stadium in it's place.

by Anonymousreply 26January 3, 2024 3:40 PM

He's keeping George Burns, Jimmy Stewart and Jack Benny alive for a new generation.

by Anonymousreply 27January 3, 2024 3:46 PM

He basically disappeared from public appearances before 2000, only appearing in a few cameo roles from time to time. I guess he was wealthy enough to retire relatively early. The black hair dye at age 85 is horrible idea. So are all the obvious plastic surgeries.

I stopped dyeing my hair in my mid 50s and opted for the salt & pepper look because I was concerned about looking artificial. At some point one needs to accept aging .

by Anonymousreply 28January 3, 2024 3:53 PM

^ Good advice, Marlo.

by Anonymousreply 29January 3, 2024 4:02 PM

Vegas has an awards show -best show, best performer - who knows. I was in Vegas the night of the award show - which ment all the major shows were dark for the night. The only thing we could see was strippers or Rich Little. We went to Little. Good lord it was 1973 or 1979 again.
