Lmao I can’t stand Bradley. Not only do I think he thinks he’s better than he is, he’s also pretentious and a snob.

Well, that's a massive projection especially considering Murphy's career-long reticence about press interviews and publicity. Did the average moviegoer actually knew he existed prior to Oppenheimer? Maybe slightly from Batman and 28 Days Later...

I can think of at least one person who wants an Oscar more.

Cooper is terrible in Maestro. The fake nose made him sound like he was permanently stuffed up, his Bernstein "imitation" went in and out, and at one point during the movie, he was channelling Martin Short's character Jackie Rogers, Jr.

I found her very affected and if she was playing the character purposely as such in certain times, then we needed to see her "take the veil off" so to speak. And we never did. In that scene towards the end she has with Sarah Silverman, that would have been the perfect time to do it, but she's still the same character.

I thought the film was largely terrible. Of all the things to focus on in Leonard Bernstein's life and career, his sham marriage was not the one. And that's really all they do, is go on about it like it was some grand romance and how she saved him. We see no evidence of her saving him. At one point she says to him- You need me. (And she wasn't talking about being his beard.) Also, we're told time and again how much she does for him. Yet not once are we shown why he needs her, or how crucial she is to his life. All we see is her making him respectable for 50s audiences. And that's some bullshit to make a movie about.

There's no such thing as wanting an Oscar too much!

Bradley is incredibly precious. That said Cillian Murphy is just as desperate for an Oscar as he is. Cillian comes off as less insecure because he was all those gifs of him rolling his eyes at people.
