Hoka Sneakers - SO UGLY

Hoka sneakers - seriously hideous. Let’s not hear how comfortable they are! They are so damn ugly and the people who wear them are elderly mallwalkers. If you have them please know that everyone thinks you look like a fool when you wear them.

by Anonymousreply 27December 16, 2023 11:39 PM

On Clouds are okay, but Hokas are better.

by Anonymousreply 1December 12, 2023 5:57 PM

This is the kind of thread that would benefit from a photo, OP.

by Anonymousreply 2December 12, 2023 6:00 PM

That's what you spend your day worrying about OP?

You sound about as deep as a rock.

by Anonymousreply 3December 12, 2023 6:07 PM

Who gives a shit what people wear, as long as they're comfortable. OP, you sound like a teenager and a snob and a label whore, all at once.

by Anonymousreply 4December 12, 2023 6:35 PM

FASCINATING

by Anonymousreply 5December 12, 2023 6:37 PM

Label Queens are exhausting.

by Anonymousreply 6December 12, 2023 6:49 PM

What's wrong with a chunky heel?

by Anonymousreply 7December 12, 2023 7:03 PM

I didn’t find them comfortable when I tried them in. They felt like old fashioned earth shoes!

by Anonymousreply 8December 12, 2023 7:16 PM

I wear them and live them, pisspot!

by Anonymousreply 9December 12, 2023 7:17 PM

I had plantars fasciitis (both feet) for 18 months....these do the trick for walking. It is a huge relief and comfort.

And, I don't own stock in them.....yet!

by Anonymousreply 10December 12, 2023 7:20 PM

OP is a broke-ass bitch who can't afford anything more the WalMart discount rack sneakers...

I said what I said...

by Anonymousreply 11December 12, 2023 7:22 PM

On shoes are far superior and way more aesthetically pleasing

by Anonymousreply 12December 12, 2023 7:31 PM

I'm on my third pair of Hoka's but I just bought New Balance 1080 v13 which I find more comfortable. They were expensive around $175 but I have plantar fasciitis and arthritis in one foot from breaking it when I was younger. The pain is unbearable if I'm walking on a hard surface for a long time.

by Anonymousreply 13December 12, 2023 7:45 PM

Where can I get me some of these hefty soles?

by Anonymousreply 14December 12, 2023 8:24 PM

There is a very very hot guy at my gym who wears Hokas and it does give me pause.

by Anonymousreply 15December 12, 2023 8:27 PM

Funny R15. I was just paying for gas and a hot dude in front of me had a pair on. I hadn't even read this thread yet.

by Anonymousreply 16December 12, 2023 8:51 PM

This is all my husband wears -- he has over 30 pairs in every color imaginable. I. HATE. THEM.

Especially when he wears them with business casual attire

by Anonymousreply 17December 12, 2023 9:42 PM

I have the UGG version of those, and while initially comfortable, after walking awhile I feel strain in my calves and thighs. Or maybe that’s exercise. I don’t know.

by Anonymousreply 18December 12, 2023 9:48 PM

Hokas didn’t work for me but the padding was nice. I wear Altras, which are fugs but work better with my sesamoiditis. As for sesamoiditis, you can thank a pair of Brooks for that.

by Anonymousreply 19December 12, 2023 9:55 PM

What did Brooks do to cause that?

by Anonymousreply 20December 12, 2023 10:15 PM

I finally bought a pair and took them on a trip to Italy and they were fucking awful!

That padded sole did nothing for me so I changed to my ugly Oboz hiking sneakers which were much more comfortable.

The Hokas are ok for treadmills but that’s about it.

by Anonymousreply 21December 12, 2023 10:20 PM

R19 padding in the wrong places. Also scraped the living crap out of the back of my ankles, even with high socks.

The Altras seem to be helping a lot. Their build quality ain’t great either but they’re very comfortable.

I think running shoes are too effing expensive anyway. At some point I’ll go back to Reeboks.

by Anonymousreply 22December 16, 2023 10:54 PM

Look like regular athletic shoes to my eyes

by Anonymousreply 23December 16, 2023 11:02 PM

I have Clark’s sneakers from years ago and they’re great. They have built in roller bars that are unobtrusive. I wear them with Pure Stride arch supports. I bought 4colors.

I also have New Balance sneakers with built in rollbar but I don’t wear them in public for fear people will think I’m a Trumper.

Dont look any worse than other sneakers I see people wearing apart from somewhat thicker soles. I have some Under Armour ones, some Nikes and some Skechers my flatmate said I should get. Bought those for mountain climbing when the old Nikes I had were falling apart, turns out they are totally waterproof which makes them unbearably hot in summer. Great winter sneakers though
