AI Images have gotten so good in such a short time
by Anonymous | reply 65 | January 16, 2024 8:05 PM |
Helen Keller could tell those images aren't real.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | December 12, 2023 3:58 PM |
They literally have the same face, it’s just that one of them is blond. I do agree though that AI is getting better every day.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | December 12, 2023 3:59 PM |
But have the peens improved?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | December 12, 2023 3:59 PM |
R1 of course the image isn't "real" but it's a very good rendering. Look at the hairs on their arms, the veins..
R2 Yes I noticed that, too. Will experiment a bit with a black-white couple.
R3 no idea, OpenAI is so sanitised.. But I will try to push it in a more lewd direction!
by Anonymous | reply 4 | December 12, 2023 4:00 PM |
Now, you can see why the actors (and writers) needed to be adamant about AI protections.
At the speed it's progressing, there's no telling how sophisticated it could become in 5 years.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | December 12, 2023 4:11 PM |
[quote]They literally have the same face
How? One is clearly of Arabic or Persian extraction, and the other is a Northern European. Look at the schnoz, it's a dead giveaway.
Also, that certain gays are super into twinning isn't exactly news, so this generated image is spot on in that regard. Perfect 10s tend to date guys who look exactly like them, they can't help themselves.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | December 12, 2023 4:12 PM |
I have to say, I'm taken aback the most by the softness in their facial expression upon zooming in. They're clearly being touchy-feely with each other and I'm amazed AI has managed to produce that.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | December 12, 2023 4:15 PM |
Is he doing hair? They both have the same bouffant! Lol.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | December 12, 2023 4:16 PM |
Here's a handsome interracial couple strolling in Paris. This took me an awful lot of prompts, by the way. At one point, it rendered two Asians.
Certainly not as "convincing at first sight" as the picture in my opening post, but also not terrible.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | December 12, 2023 4:18 PM |
I would be very worried if I was a plain or average looking actor.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | December 12, 2023 4:19 PM |
R10 Hon, we should ALL be worried. There is almost no job that AI can't do better or at least cheaper and faster. This goes for basically ANY office job, but also for composers, filmmakers, writers, illustrators... You name it.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | December 12, 2023 4:22 PM |
there goes 90% of the commercial graphic design industry. this plus canva will cover almost all of the work.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | December 12, 2023 4:22 PM |
My images still look…mutant. How do I fix this?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | December 12, 2023 4:30 PM |
[quote]there goes 90% of the commercial graphic design industry. this plus canva will cover almost all of the work.
Yes and no. You still need people to manage the work of the AI - it's not Star Trek where you can give general directions and get perfect results.
It'll be smaller with fewer people since the work can be done much faster.
What's more insidious is that the majority of "learning" is currently by machines based on human inputs. Very soon, the machines will be learning from a majority inputs from other AI outputs. This creates a whole series of other issues for consideration.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | December 12, 2023 4:34 PM |
It may not be like Star Trek today, but as R5 suggested, it will.
There does seem to be an issue of an AI "learning" from other AI-generated sources leading to a breakdown of the process (outputting garbage). That is the least of our concerns. The way I see it, either AI will make us all jobless or it will kill us all. Being jobless isn't necessarily the worst outcome; there is a utopia in which we are all freed from the daily mundane to pursue whatever interests we want, but given the way things are going in the world today, that is, at best, a remote possibility. I think we'll take AI right up to the point of the singularity but will stop short of letting the AI gain consciousness. We will then fight for all eternity to keep rogue actors from pushing AI to that brink (much like nuclear weapons but without the skillset required to refine radioactive material to weapon grade).
by Anonymous | reply 15 | December 12, 2023 4:53 PM |
r14 i'm thinking of bulk type work - like making restaurant menus, signage, flyers, images for web backgrounds, etc. small businesses can just generate professional looking stuff internally without having to contract anybody.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | December 12, 2023 4:59 PM |
The gay in the back looks like he survived a shark attack on his lower arms
by Anonymous | reply 17 | December 12, 2023 5:08 PM |
Yeah and blond guy looks like he’s got a touch of necrosis on the tip of his index finger
by Anonymous | reply 18 | December 12, 2023 5:11 PM |
I don't think op's image is good. these men look like gays
by Anonymous | reply 19 | December 12, 2023 5:59 PM |
OP? Get your eyes checked.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | December 12, 2023 6:54 PM |
You get your eyes checked, R20. If you can't see that AI image generation has taken giant leaps in the past year, you are beyond saving.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | December 12, 2023 10:10 PM |
r2 "literally"
oh, dear
by Anonymous | reply 22 | December 12, 2023 10:11 PM |
The one on the right's chin sticks out farther than his nose.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | December 12, 2023 10:16 PM |
For this image, my prompt was:
[quote] Create a four-panel comic of a mailman befriending an English Bulldog.
It delivered. Again, not amazing yet, but you can see where this is going. Took me exactly 3 seconds to generate this.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | December 12, 2023 10:42 PM |
Are they twins OP?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | December 12, 2023 10:45 PM |
R25
by Anonymous | reply 26 | December 12, 2023 10:46 PM |
Robots in love.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | December 12, 2023 10:56 PM |
r25 You tried
by Anonymous | reply 28 | December 12, 2023 11:29 PM |
Now that I've created them, I want to know their story. They're so cute.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | December 12, 2023 11:35 PM |
When two farmers are in love, it's all about the corn.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | December 12, 2023 11:37 PM |
I would love to buy either of these outfits.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | December 12, 2023 11:39 PM |
There are three Pride cappuccinos in the OP, who is the third one for?
by Anonymous | reply 32 | December 12, 2023 11:55 PM |
A young Scrooge is visited by the spirit of his dead partner Marley.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | December 13, 2023 6:33 AM |
R32 I started out with “make a picture of a blond man making coffee as a barista”
And then I added another man.. and then I asked for rainbow flags on the cups
by Anonymous | reply 34 | December 13, 2023 6:36 AM |
It's not so much that the AI images are looking more human, as that use of cosmetic surgery and its bells and whistles has reached the point where humans are looking more like AI images every day.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | December 13, 2023 12:42 PM |
That image by OP is terrible. But the latest version of Midjourney (6) that was released a few days ago, is mind blowing
by Anonymous | reply 36 | January 3, 2024 7:12 PM |
Just made this image in Midjourney. And if I played around with it a bit more, it would look even more realistic
by Anonymous | reply 37 | January 3, 2024 7:15 PM |
[quote] Certainly not as "convincing at first sight" as the picture in my opening post, but also not terrible.
They're both terrible, which makes you delusional. I'm going to pass this Duthie on the left hand side.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | January 3, 2024 7:19 PM |
I love the blue cabinets, but without the white trim on the panels, the AI guys looked too fake.
Nice hairstyle though!!
by Anonymous | reply 39 | January 3, 2024 7:20 PM |
Image I just made in MJ. Soon we won't be able to tell the difference between what's real and what's fake
by Anonymous | reply 40 | January 3, 2024 7:25 PM |
OP, look at the hands, they still suck
by Anonymous | reply 41 | January 3, 2024 7:37 PM |
[quote]You still need people to manage the work of the AI - it's not Star Trek where you can give general directions and get perfect results.
It'll be StarTrek soon enough. You'll be able to give spoken prompts and have a conversation with A.I. about what kind of image you want, and have A.I. do corrections and changes on command.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | January 3, 2024 9:14 PM |
All fake ad fuck looking. Hate em.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | January 3, 2024 10:54 PM |
Fake as fuck
by Anonymous | reply 44 | January 3, 2024 10:54 PM |
They look like paintings.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | January 3, 2024 11:02 PM |
r37 and r40 are good enough that few people would know they weren't real at first inspection and almost no one prior to the media hype about AI (so 10 years ago) would even guess they weren't real people.
The only reason most people would know is if they were looking for it. Of course, professional photographers and graphic artists would be able to spot it. People on a thread labeled AI images would know. But, most people probably wouldn't be able to tell since they're just not that observant.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | January 4, 2024 12:35 AM |
^^^further, I bet folks would have a difficult time if we started posting some AI and real images and told people to guess which it was.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | January 4, 2024 12:37 AM |
R8 you're an unfunny idiot and the AI are coming to get you.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | January 4, 2024 1:58 AM |
r49 Was that done with MJ? It's quite good.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | January 4, 2024 2:58 AM |
Can they be any more fem? Hard pass!
by Anonymous | reply 51 | January 4, 2024 3:02 AM |
At R49, they look femme?
by Anonymous | reply 52 | January 4, 2024 3:06 AM |
I don't think r49 looks particularly fem. Certainly not more so than OP whose guys look very Tarzan/Jane.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | January 4, 2024 3:09 AM |
Some of you queens don’t understand the simplest of concepts: I said AI image generation had gotten very good in a very short amount of time. Not perfect. It’s about the enormous leaps that technology has taken in the past 36 months.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | January 4, 2024 8:07 AM |
OP, try adding words to your AI like "photo realistic" it makes a world of difference from the more cartoon glossy images it spits out. Works well on Mid Journey.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | January 4, 2024 8:32 AM |
Wow that's amazing quality OP. It's close to being real. This all has come along very quickly.
Scary stuff.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | January 4, 2024 8:55 AM |
R55 I liked midjourney, but the fact that you can only work with it through Discord, and you need a paid version for what is only image generation (compared to ChatGPT, which offers both the "search engine" and image generation), is a bit of a turnoff to continue using their service
by Anonymous | reply 57 | January 4, 2024 9:03 AM |
Images that I just generated in Midjourney. You wouldn't even be able to tell these are not real photos.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | January 16, 2024 7:25 PM |
They do look real. I imagine those are done in V6. The post at R49 is 5.2.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | January 16, 2024 7:29 PM |
R59 Yes, in V6
by Anonymous | reply 60 | January 16, 2024 7:49 PM |
It's so exciting, but you know it's going to be used for criminal or political purposes. It sows just enough discord and doubt to make it a complete nightmare.
If it were limited to artistic or creative purposes, like movies, videogames or a new type of animation for storytelling, that would be incredible.
Sadly, we all know it won't be.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | January 16, 2024 7:52 PM |
I love the potential for AI, but I'm not impressed with the images in this thread. Very cartoony, overly crisp and precise, too plastic-looking. I've seen better, not necessarily of humans or animals, but landscapes and mythical creatures and graphic novel-styled renderings. Most of what I've seen of AI trying to create images of people in various situations looks too fake to me.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | January 16, 2024 7:59 PM |
R61 That's what we always said about technical innovation. There will be problems (like with everything in life) and in time there will be solutions and advances made.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | January 16, 2024 8:00 PM |
R16 - yes, that type of work makes AI an excellent tool.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | January 16, 2024 8:02 PM |
R37 - that is definitely incredible! Not at all cartoonish like many others in this thread.
