The worst was for sure The West Wing. Opening credit theme, sensational: closing--often not appropriate to what we'd just seen. I get what they were trying to do, but it didn't work.

St Elsewhere's series finale. No contest.

WKRP. The lyrics were gibberish.

I liked MTM Productions' formula of showing the supporting and guest cast as part of the closing credits with clips from that episode.

I second The Muppet Show! Would the Carol Burnett show count? I believe it was more of a musical intro to the ending credits, but it was lovely.

My favorite has always been the closing credits to the 1960s Supermarrionation classic “Stingray”. It’s a way out of left field, haunting ballad ‘Aqua Marina’, that I used to croon along to as a toddler. Throughout my years, I find the song, and the accompanying montage of series images, still holds up.

An indie band from Scotland called Bis did the end song. They've released 6 albums between 1997 and 2022.

The end theme to Mash. I like this someone alluded to before how it shows us the stars and guest stars from the preceding episode. I think it might also do it the fact that for a year I lived with my dad in a double wide trailer but my brother and I didn't have our own bedroom. Mash would come on right after the 10:00 news and my dad and stepmom made a habit of watching it every night before going to bed at 11:00.

Since my brother and I slept on a mattress on the living room floor we also just had to watch it even though we were only nine and 11 years old. Of course what kids going to really complain about staying up late right. So even though I hated my stepmom I can't have better sleep memories about that time because it was one of the few times we lived with our dad growing up.
