Ninja countertop appliances

Tell me your opinions about this brand.

I own their multi cooker crockpot, and I am currently on my second Foodi six-in-one oven thing. I love them both, and I’ve made some fantastic meals, particularly with the crockpot. I’m thinking about buying the Thirsti blender.

I’m always surprised by the amount of attention they attract from friends — both good attention and bad attention. The bad attention comes from the purists, who sort of scoff at the appliances. But most people rave about how much they also love them!

Inveigh, Datalounge.

I don't know about the Ninja appliances, but they make GREAT vacuums. (Shark)

Why are you on your second Foodi six-in-one oven thing?

by Anonymousreply 2December 6, 2023 9:04 AM

I just bought a Ninja coffeemaker and I love it.

by Anonymousreply 3December 6, 2023 9:42 AM

If you cannot afford Breville, I suppose these Ninja things might do.

I have a bunch of ninja stuff and love it all. The food processor blades are especially dangerous though. I don’t think I’ve ever touched them without cutting myself. I dropped the whirly blades on my foot and they made a huge, deep gash. I should probably wear protective gear when I cook.

by Anonymousreply 5December 6, 2023 10:06 AM

Or stop cooking drunk.

by Anonymousreply 6December 6, 2023 10:10 AM

R2, that's the one thing. They seem to break easily.

This sounds more like a user issue. You can't blame the blades for being sharp and cutting your foot when you drop them. Blades are supposed to be sharp.

And yes, stop drinking while preparing food. I've had drunken kitchen mishaps, so I'm not judging you.

There's a Ninja appliance that reminds me of the old "Nesco" roaster. Some of this Ninja stuff is old stuff, rebranded. But it's nice that it's a less expensive alternative to a lot of new stuff on the market, as well.

I have a Ninja Foodi grill that I use daily. It works really well, but cleaning the grill plate is a chore and a half.

by Anonymousreply 10December 6, 2023 3:33 PM

R5, I too cut the hell out of my hand making some salsa at a friend's house. It worked wonderfully but never got one for myself because I'd like to keep my digits. I'm not even clumsy.

by Anonymousreply 11December 6, 2023 3:38 PM

i have the ninja foodi multicooker, i think it's the 12 in 1. it's a lifesaver because i live in a motel. it's held up well for the most part besides the basket which is easy to dent.

by Anonymousreply 12December 6, 2023 3:42 PM

Love my blender by ninja has the nutri ninja for my daily protein shakes

by Anonymousreply 13December 6, 2023 4:27 PM

I have their blender. It works good. I eventually will be buying their 10 in 1 digital Air Fryer Oven. It's probably similar to what R12 has.

by Anonymousreply 14December 6, 2023 4:47 PM

I wish they would make an oven unit with greater capacity. I wanted to make some baby back ribs a few weeks ago in my Foodi grill but I would have had to batch it into four or five separate portions.

I’ve usually always used Breville or KitchenAid products, but switched to a Ninja toaster/convection oven based on all the positive reviews. I love it! It preheats really quickly and cooks evenly. I have dual Viking ovens that I rarely use now, except for when I’m cooking for a big group, because the Ninja works so well. I also just bought a Ninja multi-cooker to replace my old Crockpot. It worked really well for Thanksgiving stuffing, so I’m trying a pot roast in it now.

Years ago I had a Ninja blender but didn’t like it, gave it away, and switched back to KitchenAid.

The Ninja Creami makes the most incredible ice cream.

by Anonymousreply 17December 6, 2023 5:06 PM

Nah, R8, not cooking drunk or being too careless. You really need to experience the blades to know what I’m talking about. When I dropped it on my foot, I accidentally knocked it off the counter after cleaning, so maybe a bit careless of me, but honestly, you could slit someone’s throat with very little effort with those things. I get they should be sharp, but these are unlike any blades I encountered.

by Anonymousreply 18December 6, 2023 5:13 PM

On consumer reports, Breville rates relatively mediocre, Ninja is better and sharper!

by Anonymousreply 19December 6, 2023 5:20 PM

I have a ninja food processor. It’s ok.

by Anonymousreply 20December 6, 2023 6:49 PM

Ninjas are flimsy and lethal.

by Anonymousreply 21December 6, 2023 6:54 PM

When I want to brew coffee and steam milk then I will look into Breville.

When I want to do anything else, I will go elsewhere, because Breville specializes in “shit for making coffee”.

by Anonymousreply 22December 6, 2023 7:24 PM

I have the blender and the air fryer (5 in 1). It's a great, affordable brand. Fuck Vitamix.

by Anonymousreply 23December 6, 2023 7:25 PM

I have a ninja blender a friend gave me but it stopped working and the light just blinks but won't work. I need to look at it after I get off work.

by Anonymousreply 24December 6, 2023 7:25 PM

R24 I think your friend at R16 knowingly gave you this dud blender. 😂

by Anonymousreply 25December 7, 2023 3:47 AM

I’ve had a Ninja air fryer/grill for several years, and I use it practically daily.

by Anonymousreply 26December 7, 2023 4:34 AM

I had occasion to use a Ninja food processor at was somewhat surprised that it didn’t suck. The best food processor is an old made in Japan Cuisinart. You can find the in mint condition on eBay

Anyone have any good Creami recipes - looking for both dairy and nondairy. We love our Creami - just got it.

by Anonymousreply 28December 7, 2023 6:32 AM

I never buy brand name appliances. I buy the cheapest and make do. I can cook so that’s a plus.

by Anonymousreply 29December 7, 2023 7:26 AM

So no Easy Bake Oven for you, hunh?
