I don't understand why this is tragic.

He decided to die and followed through with it by shooting himself in the head. According to the linked story - he left multiple suicide letters to people and also letters with instructions.

Why is it any of our business what this person did? It was his life and he made the choices he saw fit for his life. He had an ongoing illness which he decided he couldn't beat. His decision to take his life was obviously well-planned and executed. It wasn't a spur of the moment decision. Nobody except him knows what he was going through or which events led him to make the choices he made. It was his choice. Why was it tragic?
