The store decorations were up November 1st, the commercials started a week ago, Christmas music playing already. What is this insanity?
Has the Christmas shit always started this early?

Early? I thought it came kind of late this year. My Costco usually has the trees and lights up by mid-August. Even my local Home Depot is only now building out the tree area in the parking lot; in years past, it was built in September taking up the parking spaces nearest the garden center for months.

The commercials started b4 Halloween. Most stores started decorating around November 1st here in S. California.
Way too early 4 me!!

Way too early for me, too.
People who never go out are suddenly crowding every grocery store.
I went to Harbor Freight yesterday to get some drill bits and the place was jammed with holiday shoppers! On a Friday afternoon, FFS!
I hate this shit. I have to go to the grocery, and I dread it. More assholes crawling everywhere, clogging up the aisles like beaches whales.
Why can’t they just STAY HOME and shop on line like they normally do?

It used to be that retail and municipal holiday decorations went up the day after Thanksgiving or sometime during that week. Now it appears to be the day after Halloween.
Not a fan - to everything is a season.

Very very strange year-
Its like everyone is on vacation this week AND next.
I had to go to Walmart yesterday. (And I live in a pretty crime free neck of the woods- i think we have the lowest murder rate in the USA, or second to lowest) and the energy in that place was FUCKED. And it was mainly old folks- Like 65-80. What a bunch of cunts.
But at work, everyone was working 1-3 days this week and off, and then are taking next week off too... Its like something is coming and everyone knows it subconsciously.

Growing up, we put up our tree on Christmas Eve and took it took on New Year’s Day.
When a holiday is stretched into a couple months, is it really that special?

I really love Thanksgiving and Christmas, but I like to celebrate each o its own. This weekend and the coming week are all about being grateful. Yeah, I have some difficulties right now, but I'm a lot better off than a great many others. I want to take the time to enjoy mid-to-late November...the yellows and oranges, the crunch of the fallen leaves, the two young deer camping out in my backyard this morning until about 2 pm. the college football, all the great food at the end of the week. People are already decorating their homes. I get it -- it's better to do it when it hasn't turned very cold yet. The lights are good, now that it gets dark by 5 pm.
I like getting ready for Christmas...just not the Christmas music just yet!

It’s good to get the Christmas shopping and chores done early in order to really enjoy Advent.

November 1? Christmas carols and decorations have been up since October in my neck of the woods. I remember seeing Christmas commercials for Glade in September!
