Argentinian Men

Who has had them?

What are they like?

Stuck up cunts.

Like all Argentinians.

Thread Closed.

by Anonymousreply 1November 18, 2023 4:21 AM

They make for cheap whores though!

by Anonymousreply 2November 18, 2023 4:26 AM

R1 overstates it a little bit, but he's not really wrong. They're only only two kinds of Argentines: those that despise their country and those that feel it is the greatest and most important place on earth. Like the French in the nineteenth century, they see themselves as the pinnacle of art, culture, and desirability.

by Anonymousreply 3November 18, 2023 4:52 AM

Poor........

by Anonymousreply 4November 18, 2023 4:59 AM

Great husband material if you want to sponsor one & get one out of their shithole country......

by Anonymousreply 5November 18, 2023 5:01 AM

Absolutely beautiful men.

The ones who say their half Italian or of Italian heritage are the ones who think they’re god’s gifts. And they are beautiful.

And like Italians, the above poster is right. They despise the injustices of their country but it is still the best in the world. They do everything. The best.

by Anonymousreply 6November 18, 2023 5:51 AM

They are beautiful but broke

Not nearly as good as Brazilian men. They are all slightly neurotic.

2. Do they have nice asses?

by Anonymousreply 13November 18, 2023 7:50 AM

Argentines are Italians who speak Spanish and think they are British.

by Anonymousreply 14November 18, 2023 8:42 AM

by Anonymousreply 16November 18, 2023 9:36 AM

They all look alike.

by Anonymousreply 17November 18, 2023 9:44 AM

My friend hates the way Argentineans speak Spanish.

They pronounce their 'Y' sounds weird.

For instance, the color 'yellow' in Spanish is 'amarillo,' which is pronounced as 'ah-ma-ree-yo,' but they say it like 'ah-ma-ree-sho..'

The name 'Yolanda' becomes 'Sholanda'

And so on.

by Anonymousreply 18November 18, 2023 10:01 AM

They have the very worst of Spaniards (boundless arrogance, pettiness, proud of their aggressive ignorance), and the very worst of Italians (obnoxious rudeness, pathological vindictiveness, proud of being crooks). Also, they have a long fascist political tradition and large minorities of exclusive German, English and Polish descent who are virulently racist.

Central Argentina was extremely wealthy in the 19th Century and early 20th Century and there were important trade relations with the UK, and as R14 correctly says, many Argentinian people believe that they are an extension of the British empire and the very beacon of civilization in Latin America... When in reality, they are simply another awful Third World sewer full of petulant, impoverished nobodies.

Furthermore, this is probably the reason why they have a HUGELY contentious relationship with Mexican people: both countries have a ridiculously inflated sense of self-importance and are full of pathetically destitute and ignorant idiots who think they're the centre of the universe. Of course, the main difference is that most Argentinian people are of direct European ancestry, whereas most Mexican people look like they've missed several evolutionary leaps.

Still, I won't deny that Argentina is a spectacular country and Argentinian men can be very hot and charming. The problem is that the charm is only on the surface, of course.

by Anonymousreply 19November 18, 2023 10:26 AM

The Argentinian men who are my friends, acquaintances, and some whom I know mostly through sex men, none wants for confidence, but it's different sort of confidence than seen in men from Spain or the U.S.

Wherever they are, there they belong and they go straight in for the center. They will meet everyone, make plans, charm most and fail to go unnoticed by any, and they are fairly expert at move between group and individual dynamics. They don't need a lot of warming up. They will bring conversation out of the shy and have the guy who usually never shuts up asking questions, listening with much interest. They don't brag, they don't show off, they're not obnoxious, nor do they try too hard. It all seems effortless and you might not notice if you were not drawn to the handsome fuckers.

Only when you know them and make a joke about their confidence will they make an "I know" response, showing that self-knowledge of their skills and traits us no surprise.

Maybe I'm wary of people with those skills, but they use their powers well and not maliciously nor deceptively. For me, they are a likeable lot.

I have seen many gorgeous men in Mexico, and I’ve been all over the map.

by Anonymousreply 32November 18, 2023 8:00 PM

The only aspect of Argentinian men that disturbs me is their pathological obsession with their football (soccer) clubs. 2 weeks ago, Boca Juniors played the final of the Copa Libertadores against Brazilian club Fluminense. The final was held at the Marcana Stadium (Rio de Janeiro) and I was shocked to watch some videos of crazed as fuck fanatics who did everything to attend to the final. One boy raffled off his PS5 while his dad raffled off his motorcycle as well just to buy tickets. Some others mortgaged their houses. But for me, the worst of those tales was the one of a father who used the money of not one, but two scholarships his son was granted in order to buy tickets. Eventually, Boca Juniors lost the final.

by Anonymousreply 33November 18, 2023 8:03 PM

R18, and there are varieties of Spanish that pronounce Y and LL as "J" as in James.

Re: Argentine Spanish -or as they call it, castellano.

The pronunciation of y or ll varies throughout the Spanish-speaking world from a soft /y/ sound to a hard /dj/ sound. It will vary with its position in a word and the emphasis the speaker gives the word. In Argentina, that pronunciation is usually considered a marker of social class. A harder /zh/ sound (like Zsa Zsa Gabor) is normal, while a /sh/ sound is considered lower class. Many's the time I've heard upper middle class mothers correcting their small children's pronunciation, accusing them of spending too much time with the servants...

R38, you forgot about the palatalized L sound for ll that's common in Spain. Me lyamo; castelyano; etc. It's nice in that it distinguishes that sound from y.

I had a date/hook up with a German-descent Argentinian 20+ years ago. Confident and sexy with a big thick dick (cut surprisingly.) Now that others have mentioned it I do recall some mildly racist/discriminatory comments but don’t remember what they were. Funniest thing to me was I called him the day after our date and said, “Hey it’s MyName.” “Who?” Was his response. Even after realizing who I was the conversation didn’t really progress. No second date.

by Anonymousreply 42November 18, 2023 11:03 PM

R40 Straight for pay.

by Anonymousreply 43November 18, 2023 11:08 PM

Most of the Argentinian men I've met are generally friendly, but arrogant in a neurotic way. They are not truly confident. It's as if they need you to believe that they are the best or they fall apart. They'll sometimes say truly stupid things with a lot of feigned confidence, which makes them sound insane. Their other unlikable trait is that they talk non-stop. They can have a conversation all by themselves. Basically, they are tolerable when they don't speak, so they are good for a fuck, but not worth dating.

So many answers to the second question, but very few comments on the first.

I’ve been traveling to BsAs for awhile now. I have become familiar with a few masseurs there. One is strictly legit, but I’ve sampled the wares of the other two.

Overall, the encounters haven’t been anything to write home about. But the men were nice enough, didn’t give off any attitude, and as I said upthread, cheap hires.

by Anonymousreply 49November 19, 2023 12:02 AM

The hottest Latin guys are from Argentina and Colombia.

by Anonymousreply 50November 19, 2023 12:04 AM

Not to pile on, but here goes. I’ve worked with many Argentinian men in my career. They are all at least good looking. Some of them are simply beautiful. Well dressed and well mannered in general. But they have massive egos, particularly the gay ones.

In recent years, several of the gay ones are here for a year or two and desperate to get married to somebody who lives in the US legally and provide them a path to a green card. They come on too strong and have unrealistic expectations, and they get bitter and aggressive when the guys they deem worthy of them turn out not to want to marry them.

All of them act disgusted with Mexicans, Salvadorans, and Guatemalans. They will socialize with Cubans as long as they are white. To a one, the Argentinian men I’ve known lack self awareness about the fact that their country has been a mess for decades, with no improvement in sight, and that not everybody is fixated on them. We had one postdoc from BsAs whom we had to refer to the US government to send him back. He was straight and stalked several American undergrads and grad students all of whom turned him down forcefully.

Argentinians are like Americans, if the United States had never become a world superpower. Since Argentina is instead a poor and non-powerful country, they are instead neurotic and deeply insecure, with a superficial veneer of confidence. If you insult an arrogant American, most will simply ignore you. If you insult an Argentinian, they will become defensive and overly angry. They are thin-skinned babies.

by Anonymousreply 62November 19, 2023 8:14 AM

It's very sad. Argentina has a lot of natural assets. Great farmland, great ranchland, great wine-growing regions. These should all be sources of wealth. Buenos Aires is an architecturally-rich city and a sea port. There are many potential tourist attractions, both in the Andes and in places like Patagonia and of course the famous waterfalls on the border with Brazil. But somehow things went very south for Argentina in the 20th century from the great Depression onwards, and the country can never seem to quite be able to dig itself out of economic malaise. Part of it is that the central bank just prints pesos as fast as it can. The money is not tagged to anything else. People buy a lot of consumer goods because in their minds, it's not worth putting money in banks. It will be worth less the next day than when they deposited it, whereas at least some sort of good or property will continue to gain value. It's leading to a brain drain, as they educated young are fleeing the country.

R63 Menluvinguy guess who is to blame for their situation:

During the 1970s and 80s, eight US-backed military dictatorships jointly plotted the cross-border kidnap, torture, rape and murder of hundreds of their political opponents.

The National Security Archive has revealed new details about how the U.S. government was in direct contact with the coup plotters in Argentina prior to the overthrow of Isabel Perón’s government on March 24, 1976. Declassified documents show then CIA Director George H.W. Bush briefed President Gerald Ford on a “possible” coup almost two weeks before it happened. The U.S. government also told the Argentine military in advance that it would recognize the new regime. At the time, the State Department was privately acknowledging a coup would lead to “military rule for an extended duration and of unprecedented severity.” The U.S.-backed dictatorship in Argentina would continue until 1983.

Argentina has just elected a very right wing president who has vowed to get rid of the peso as the currency and use American dollars as the currency. That should be interesting. I didn't realize that a few central American countries have already moved to do that as well. The idea is that if there are no pesos being printed, the dollars will stabilize inflation and more or less tie it to the rate of inflation in the US. But the Argentine government and its central bank will have ceded all control over economic levers to the FED and federal government in the US

by Anonymousreply 78November 20, 2023 8:11 AM

That’s what being an anarcho-capitalist looks like, r78. There are no limits to the stupidity of these extremist populist right-wingers, and it seems like this is their moment to shine—see Trump in the US, Meloni and her henchmen in Italy, Orban’s christo-fascism in Hungary, and the intellectually short-circuited Suella Braverman, the UK’s only-just ex Home Secretary with a fondness for race-baiting and cynically orchestrated culture wars are stirring up and encouraging the darkest traits of Mosley neofascism.

My boss is an Argentinian woman, and she and her husband are incredibly lovely and nothing at all like the arrogant, showy “polo tent” Argentinian stereotype. They are both high educated and how to start from ground zero professionally when they arrived as immigrants - they came over when my city did a big recruiting campaign for Argentinian Jews in the 90s. They found Argentina was just too unstable for them to bring their children up in, and that being Jewish added an extra level of anxiety in an economically turbulent country. She jokes that when she goes back she’s always pegged as being “foreign” because even though she tends to be quite put together and ladylike by Canadian standards, she’s not nearly as “silk blouse and designer handbag” as Argentinian women tend to be.

This is perhaps neither here nor there; but a few years ago I attended a dance concert in Southern California which featured an Argentine flamenco dance company. I've been scanning this thread with great interest. A month ago I was at a party and a gorgeous Argentine approached me, flirted, asked for my number, got frisky/feely. No complaints. We had a couple of things in common, keep in touch a little bit (he lives an hour or so away). What resonates with many on these posts is his absolute confidence as he approached me, and "impose" himseld on me (zero complaints). Yesterday, he gave me some reason to suspect he didn't like POC.

I was initially wooed by him. He's been polite to me, but he recently informed me he now has a bf. With his beauty, I KNEW it was only a matter of time.

Let me tell you something, don't you think that we all have our prejudices, our likes and dislikes or even bigotry. But as long as one is fair, one doesn't spread hatred or discriminate against someone, wouldn't someone' s emotions be his personal matter.

I know you Americans carry this burden of slavery and discrimination against blacks, but do you think it is fair to project it on others. You have unnaturally high level of censorship on that matter. I mean, this is your taboo, other societies have their own tabooes.

R106, I’m not r105 but to answer your question, I don’t think so. America never promoted intermarriage. Just oppression and genocide.

Well R 108, out of wedlock white Americans surely fathered a lot of biracial babies.

I wish they shaved closer.

R107 you’re entitled to your opinion but I don’t think you understand America’s complex history regarding race. Most of the world has issues with the black diaspora and they all deal with them differently.

One of the hottest male singers from there is Emanuel Ortega. He had some success both on Argentina and some parts of Latin America during the late 90s-early 2000s. This is perhaps his most well-known and successful song: "A Escondidas" from 1999.
