Remembering Rock in one of his best, "All That Heaven Allows"

Born this day was Rock Hudson. While I think 'Giant' was Rock's best movie & role, Hudson was also very good in Douglas Sirk's 'All That Heaven Allows,' with Jane Wyman. As the iconoclastic carpenter, Rock is warm, natural, and I could listen to his voice all day! My look at "Heaven" here:

I just wish that someone had slapped Mona Plash IN HER FACE. But I see what Sirk was doing in this. Her remarks, however catty and passive aggressive, were simply not important.

I love this even more than THE MAGNIFICENT OBSESSION.

Jane Wyman spoiled both movies for me. As if Rock couldn't have done much better.

I felt that "All That Heaven Allows" was pretty adult beneath the soapy surface.
