Gay Enemies From Within

Who are they?

Watching "Fellow Travelers," it has really stirred up some angry emotions in me.

To think that there was a gay witch hunt going on in the 1950's and 1960's, that were led by closeted gays. It's beyond infuriating.

Men like Joe McCarthy and Roy Cohn. Demonizing and terrorizing gay men, all while being in the closet themselves.

And things are still the same today.

Aaron Schock, Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, Matt Gaetz, Mike Johnson, Adam Kinzinger, etc.

I say, it's time we turn the tables on them.

Closeted men are EVIL.

Out them like McCarthy was outed, and bring about their downfall.

We shouldn't have to put up with this shit in 2023.

Never underestimate the depths of darkness from a Quisling. The only thing remotely geigh about them is the sex. They have not earned the title of "Gay," I call them mere "homosexuals."

by Anonymousreply 1November 12, 2023 3:18 AM

Poor Nelson…

by Anonymousreply 2November 12, 2023 3:26 AM

Geez, I'd never heard the McCarthy rumors. He seems like the polar opposite of gay:

"In any event, McCarthy did not sue Greenspun for libel. (He was told that if the case went ahead he would be compelled to take the witness stand and to refute the charges made in the affidavit of the young man, which was the basis for Greenspun's story.) In 1953, he married Jean Fraser Kerr, a researcher in his office. In January 1957, McCarthy and his wife adopted an infant with the help of Roy Cohn's close friend Cardinal Spellman. They named the baby girl Tierney Elizabeth McCarthy."

Correction - closeted REPUBLICAN men are evil.

Take a typical nasty, evil Republican, then throw on top the closeted gay, and you've got a level of mean and nasty that most straight men can't touch.

I always wondered if they're prompted to do this shit because of blackmail within their own party.

by Anonymousreply 4November 12, 2023 3:30 AM

Hoover was left off the list, but was he really gay?

In the Fellow Travelers thread, it's mentioned that he was gay.

But my understanding was that he was merely a cross-dressing transvestite, and not gay.

by Anonymousreply 5November 12, 2023 3:36 AM

R5 - are you serious? You mean you forgot about the man he worked and lived with for decades? Clyde Tolson.

The spent weekends and vacations together. He inherited Hoover's estate - moved into his house when he died and accepted the American flag at the funeral.

I don't know what the fuck else we're supposed to believe with NO OTHER WOMEN for either of them in the pic for 40 years?

by Anonymousreply 6November 12, 2023 3:42 AM

I had no idea, R6.

Thanks for the history lesson!

Those two sure looked like a couple of Dandy Boys.

Wow, Clyde Tolson was handsome.

Much better looking than Hoover.

It J Edgar Hoover who was in the closet and head of the FBI not Senator Joseph McCarthy, who dated both of John F Kennedy's sisters. Eww

by Anonymousreply 9November 12, 2023 3:51 AM

Read the Wiki link at op, R9.

McCarthy was definitely into other men, and even raped one.

He was single until he got married to a beard in his 40's.

by Anonymousreply 10November 12, 2023 3:57 AM

Chronic meth whore cockgobbler Aaron Schock obviously.

by Anonymousreply 11November 12, 2023 3:57 AM

You forgot about Ken Mehlman - the gay man who made gay marriage an major campaign issue in 2004 to re-elect Bush.

Remember all the state amendments to prevent gay marriage in 2004? And all the homophobic backlash? Cuz I do.

Meanwhile this asshole was openly gay the whole time and every Republican knew it.

Still not forgiven. He would have been a Jew for Hitler if it helped his career.

by Anonymousreply 12November 12, 2023 4:03 AM

Imagine how much harm we could have side-stepped if the media reported on these closeted men earlier? It wouldn't have been hard to get the dirt.

And yet it still is this untouchable topic for Republicans.

I don't get it. Fucking dick pics of Biden's son is up for consumption, but these lying snakes in the grass are given the pass?

by Anonymousreply 13November 12, 2023 4:19 AM

Oh and Mehlman tried to get Don't Ask, Don't Tell repealed - so not just throwing his gay and lesbian brothers and sisters under the bus, but also trying to get them dismissed from the military.

He's disgusting - a whole life of good works isn't enough.

by Anonymousreply 14November 12, 2023 5:05 AM

This is an excellent thread. We should all know who our enemies are - particularly when they are other gays.

by Anonymousreply 15November 12, 2023 8:15 AM

Condalizzie Rice.

by Anonymousreply 16November 12, 2023 8:49 AM

Good timing OP. Gaetz is a perv but he isn't gay and he's cleaning closets.

Kinzinger is in the closet (the “ass for ass” hookup pic) but did he take anti-gay positions or votes? He’s no longer in Congress in any case.

by Anonymousreply 18November 12, 2023 10:28 AM

The really enemy is homophobia, let's face it.

If being gay had no stigma, there would have been no need for the backstabbing between the gays.

by Anonymousreply 19November 12, 2023 11:18 AM

They take more pleasure in hating other gay men, R19. Some of them believe that it’s impossible for a straight man to be homophobic.

by Anonymousreply 20November 12, 2023 12:51 PM

[quote] The really enemy is homophobia, let's face it.

Wow, what a way to let these assholes off the hook.

Trust me, these traitors bear much of the blame.

by Anonymousreply 21November 12, 2023 12:51 PM

"Correction - closeted REPUBLICAN men are evil."

Nope, closeted men and "straight" men who have male to male sex are the most vicious homophobes around the world.

The most homophobic cultures and organizations are known for lot of homosexual activities, particularly pederasty. Catholic church is the main instigator of homophobia in Europe, while the big majority of their clergymen are homosexual and pederasty as culture have been flourishing in it, probably for centuries.

And Muslim Middle eastern nations, which are believed to have larger percent of boys sexually assaulted by men than girls (of course girls are locked up), where it is completely normal for a group of grown men wolf whistling after young boys. I have read in an article that it is even believed that most men have encountered some sort of sexual abuse as young boys in these societies. And a lot of homosexual activities are going on between grown up men too, so it is not uncommon for a man whose wife is pregnant to seek sexual gratification in another guy, probably have the most homophobic culture and legislation in the world.

African american gangsta culture is very bisexual, with a lot of activity on the down low (the fact that came to light with upsurge of Aids among black women) is very homophobic too.

I was thinking that it might be possible that some northern European cultures which are least homophobic have the lowest number of homosexual men. Might be wrong, but all these examples lead to conclusion that homophobia is strongly related to closeted homosexuality.

by Anonymousreply 22November 12, 2023 12:56 PM

If you have a problem with me OP, you need to take it up with my Lord and Savior.

by Anonymousreply 23November 12, 2023 1:10 PM

A good documentary about this topic. It's a bit old but so am I.

[quote] was thinking that it might be possible that some northern European cultures which are least homophobic have the lowest number of homosexual men.

So what you’re trying to say is that we can eliminate homophobia by eliminating all of the gay people.

Yet again.

by Anonymousreply 25November 12, 2023 1:27 PM

Kevin McCarthy

by Anonymousreply 26November 12, 2023 1:46 PM

R25 I would prefer to eliminate shame and self hatred of closeted men that make them transfer their anger towards openly gay men.

by Anonymousreply 27November 12, 2023 1:49 PM

Adam Kinzinger voted against LGBT rights - and pretty much fell in line with his party on all of their terrible positions.

He's trying to whitewash his past - but like Schock, his record stands for himself.

R22 - I disagree. Show me closeted gay Democrats who have made life worse for all of us? Who voted against our rights?

Yes, there's a larger issue of what closeted men do and say in all countries - and they can be the most homophobic assholes against us. But I believe we're talking specifically about politicians and people who have actively come for us via legislation and smearing us for votes.

And no - you don't get to go back in time and say "Well, Clinton was against gay marriage" - fuck, the conversation and understanding has evolved. But Republicans have not.

by Anonymousreply 32November 13, 2023 4:44 AM

There is good book called The Secret City that examines gay history & politics in Washington over many decades, including the McCarthy era Lavender Scare. The author points out that there would not have been a security risk if people could be honest about their sexuality because then there would be no reason to blackmail them (which currently is demonstrated by politicians like Pete Buttigieg).

GOP pollster Frank Luntz is rumored to be a closet case

R19

So your point is that gay men are backstabbers attacking other gay men and you blame that on straights. Because if all the straights had love in their heart gay men would be nice to each other.

That makes so much sense :-). That is pure DL at its best. Gay men can’t help themselves.
