Valancourt Books began publishing these long-out-of-print, semi-forgotten novels from the '70s and '80s under the "Paperbacks from Hell" banner a few years back. I first came across one titled "The Spirit", which I bought and found a bit tedious. There are some gems in there, though—I just finished "Let's Go Play at the Adams'", which was a real assault on the senses. I want to read "The Auctioneer" by Joan Samson next. Does anyone remember some of these books from back when they were originally published?

I remember some, mainly because of their jacket covers. I also found this boo "Paperbacks from Hell" last year and enjoyed it.

I remember some of them. I think I had The Nest when it was published by Zebra, king of trashy horror paperbacks in the 80s. Definitely recognize some of the author names if not those specific titles.

“Gwen, in Green” piques my interest. I’m ordering it now.
