Hannah Slappingham's Christmas Extravaganza!

I don't know her.

Is Hannah Waddingham famous enough to have anyone watch a Christmas special built around her? I live in the UK and I haven't been able to remember who she is, until I have googled her. After googling her, I've been baffled at the fact that someone who is a C-lister at best, would have been selected for this show.

I guess that Rob Lowe, Lisa Rinna and Paula Abdul were too busy to headline it.

Whoa!! I’ve never seen her in anything except Game of Thrones as the horrible “Shame!” nun. I had no idea she was a singer too. Was she a big musical star in the UK and I’d just never heard of her?

She should be a big thing in the US.

Yesterday.

She had an Emmy winning role and decent karaoke number in Ted Lasso and a supporting role in Sex Education.

In addition to shows listed previously, she is making pretty good rounds in well regarded shows for a woman of a certain age.

What’s funny is she was only known for being in West End shows. Ted Lasso was not seen by a large portion of the UK population. But co-hosting Eurovision made her a household name.

I don't know, but I can say I love how confidently she dresses. She's a tall woman with shape and she's not afraid to show it. She can sing, seems vulnerable, seems kind, and appreciative over her mid-life success.

She seems like the friend you'd love to have a boozy brunch with once every 3-4 months to catch up and have a laugh.

yeah, her smile and laugh really light up a room/stage. Talent in acting, singing, and sex appeal without being vulgar. Plus, she's an icon in my book for being the GoT "Shame!" lady!

She has had a long stage career in musicals in Britain, people. Including playing Desiree, the Witch, and Lilli Vanessi.

I thought the writing was horrible. And it says a lot about how bad the writing is if you notice that during a show that’s 90% singing. She was good tho. I could see her pulling off a streaming variety series.

The writing wasn't great, and that was underlined because it was imposed on the cast of Ted Lasso, who have previously been familiar to us speaking beautifully written dialogue.
