“A Little Respect” (1988) by Erasure is gay pop perfection and an underrated GEM of a song!
I love both “Chains of Love” and this song but have always liked this one more. They’re both amazing though. Actually, their entire album “The Innocents” is great and gave them their most success here in the states.
They deserved better. They were fun.

After Vince Clarke had the cream of the crop with Alison Moyet's vocals and the innovative sound of Yazoo he went in search of a similar voice and Andy Bell trying to sing like Moyet (and failing miserably) was the best Clarke could do unfortunately.
Erasure had some good songs but Bell was always the cheap basic version of Alison Moyet.

I think Clarke is better.

It got a lot of airplay in that one Scrubs episode where people sang it throughout the episode.

I love Clarke and Erasure so much more than Yazoo.
Snowglobe, their 2013 Christmas album is beautiful. Listening right now.

I didn’t know they had a Christmas album. I listened to a few of the songs on YouTube just now. I like Erasure and have some of their CDs, but these songs I just heard are most likely the worst renditions I’ve ever heard of any Christmas song, worse than the Christmas songs “sung” by barking dogs.
