Broadway has-been Aaron Tveit and Sutton Foster the new stars of “Sweeney Todd”

How is Aaron Tveit a "Broadway has-been" when just this spring he departed from the hit MOULIN ROUGE, a role he originated and for which he won the Tony?

Has-been implies that you are no longer wanted in the industry, but Tveit is still very much sought after by producers, such as this casting which has many people on social media ecstatic.

I don't understand the hatred for him on DL. I think liberals just hate him because he epitomizes all they despise -- white, attractive, successful, straight male. "Bland" is a dog-whistle which basically means the same thing.

I bet it's going to piss them off when SWEENEY TODD does extremely well with his (and Sutton Foster's) casting, while all-black plays (or musicals with black leads) continue to struggle at the box office.
