Simon MacCorkindale- British actor and vintage beefcake
Simon was born in Ely, Cambridgeshire, England in 1952. He wanted to be an officer in the Royal Air Force but couldn’t due to his poor eyesight, which led him to want to become a theatre director. He studied at Studio 68 of Theatre Arts in London where he began working as an actor. He made his West End debut in 1974 and then did many guest spots on British television shows. In 1978 he landed what would be his big breakout, a role in Death of the Nile. After this he moved to the states to work on tv and films. He starred in Falcon Crest and then began directing and producing stage, tv and film productions in the late 80s into the 90s. He moved to Canada and starred in a tv series there for a few years before moving back to the UK in 2002 and starring in a medical drama for 6 years.
In 2006 he was diagnosed with bowel cancer. He had part of bowel removed and went into remission only to find out that the cancer metastasized to his lungs a year later. He spent almost all of his fortune getting private cancer treatments in the states that were doing nothing. He kept this all a secret until late 2009, when he let it be known he had terminal cancer.
He died on October 14, 2010 in London.
A sad end to a lovely and talented man, taken far too soon.

Just watched him on Falcon Crest, he was gorgeous and never should have left. Did that old cunt Wyman have something to do with him leaving?

He was a very attractive man and seemed like a nice guy. It’s a shame cancer took him out at a fairly young age.

Ask the undertaker how big his cock was.

He never reproduced. Too bad; he could have made some really hot sons.

He was truly gorgeous in DOTN. Not a shock at all it gave him some attention.

He played the grandson of Emperor Augustus in "I, Claudius" (1976). He has a good scene with Livia (Sian Phillips) where she forces him to reveal to Augustus that his mother Julia has been sleeping with all the men in Rome.

[quote]Had SUCH a crush on him.
From the first several pics in this thread, I would say he did too.

He also guest-starred on episodes of the t.v. shows "Nikita" and "Earth Final Conflict" in the 1990's.

It's a shame Agatha never got to see Simon and Nicholas Clay in DOTN and EUTS and experienced an involuntary twitch.
He was one of my first "boyfriend fantasies" on account of DOTN and Jaws 3. I was a strange child.

HBO used to rerun Death on the Nile endlessly in the early 80s and I watched it every time. The scene with Simon taking his shoes off to run down the corridor quietly no doubt contributed to my socked foot fetish. Very sexy man.

So cruel that his colon took him out.
He's someone so beautiful you can't imagine them having a digestive system.

Thank you, R21! I couldn't believe OP ignored Minimal. It's like doing a Chuck Wagner thread and leaving out Automan!

Didn't Mr. MacCorkindale appear in a low budget Indiana Jones knock-off movie in which he wore a loin cloth? They forced him to fight some village tribesman and when he fell, the loin cloth fell to one side and we got a peek of his privates?

No one has mentioned his scene from JAWS 3D where he’s eaten alive? It’s trastastic!
He’s in the red wetsuit.

Just when did you lose your sight?
He had a magnificent basket. Those jeans were on the verge of splitting at the crotch.

Are we sure “colon cancer” isn’t slang for getting the AIDS?
For someone who didn’t procreate, he was right in the thick of the crisis.

R29 you’re a fucking idiot. Not having kids doesn’t make one gay. My sister is married and they have chosen not to have kids. They don’t want kids. Does that make them gay? No. It’s a personal choice.
He also died in 2010. From CANCER.

PS thank you Vintage Beefcake for doing the lord's work - many good photos and threads. Enjoying your posts!!!
I will say (knowing posters at the DL) that some posters might react negatively to a lot of threads started by the same person.....I know you're presenting a different theme in each thread, but if you start reading pushback or complaints, you may want to consider one general vintage beefcake thread.

R24 here. Found it. The film is known as both "Falcon's Gold" and "Raiders of the Sacred Mountain". Though I can't find any screen caps or even a video link. It seems to fall under "lost media" as it hasn't been seen since the days of VHS and video stores. It was also supposedly the first Made For Cable (Showtime specifically) movie.
I have fuzzy (no pun intended) memories of seeing it in my mid-teens (mid-80s) on a Saturday afternoon on a local syndication channel.

R36 a lot of movies are “lost”. There are a lot of movies that never made it past VHS (and many that never made it to VHS). This is why I hate everything going digital. So many lost films.

Completely and totally cannot agree enough R37 ! A lot of lost television as well.

I liked his show COUNTERSTRIKE. I particularly remember the episode where the fabulous LaToya Jackson guest starred.

R20 loved that scene as well with him in black socks. Also loved the sexy guy they cast as Simon in the 2004 Suchet version
