R7 I read a really interesting article years ago that said that the golden age of Islam was really the twilight of the previous cultures. In other words, Islam conquered these other great cultures, like Persia, and basically took credit for their accomplishments. But since Islam itself is morally bankrupt and has nothing to offer the world, once they “used up” the accomplishments of those they conquered there was nothing left.
