The movie "Lone Star" is a personal favorite, she was excellent. Sad.

When I was a kid, one of my classmate’s dads died from cirrhosis at 37. I’m 35 now, I can’t even imagine.

Obama was still President when this happened.

She was quite good.

by Anonymousreply 11October 25, 2023 2:07 AM

I think she was a drinker for a long time. I saw her later in her life and she looked bloated.

by Anonymousreply 12October 25, 2023 2:09 AM

I don't know her, but deaths caused by alcohol need to be addressed more often.

People just keep ignoring how dangerous being a permanent drunk is.

by Anonymousreply 13October 25, 2023 2:11 AM

Chronic alcoholics know it's dangerous, R13, but they can't find the willpower or the right technique to stop.

I had no idea she had this problem.

by Anonymousreply 14October 25, 2023 2:21 AM

Oh no, this is sudden.

by Anonymousreply 15October 25, 2023 2:31 AM

Do they?

My brother in law drinks everyday and refuses to listen to his doctor.

I think a lot of them downplay the toxicity of alcohol given how normalized alcohol is in society. A lot of them just seem to associate alcohol with positive words and concepts.
