What is the difference between Good Looking and Handsome?

To me, good looking implies sexy. Handsome doesn't imply sexy, but classically beautiful.

Good-looking is pleasant and easy to process. "Really good-looking" means the looks are starting to be remarkable. Handsome means there is power in the aesthetic. The attractiveness is less about being pleasant and easy and more about projecting power imbalances and thus also, for the admirer, respect or possibly (if the admirer is gay or a hetero woman) sexual attraction. Handsome provokes a feeling in the gut.

They're synonymous in the context of men. But pretty and handsome, for me, are not.

Handsome = Masculine + Attractive

Pretty = Feminine + Attractive

Either of them can be good looking.

I think they both mean the same thing, but "good looking" can be used for both sexes. Like "'They're a good looking couple" or "you have good looking parents" rather than saying "you have handsome parents" or "beautiful parents" which doesn't sound right.

I get called Handsome 99% of the time. I never get called 'good looking' and rarely Hot or Sexy.
