I watched both seasons thanks to this post. Thanks OP! I enjoyed it and learned a lot about Scotland in the process. I can see why Miriam Margolyes is so popular, and I like her, but I wouldn't be able to put up with her for more than a day, maybe an afternoon. Alan Cumming is thoroughly charming, and so patient.

Like many actors/actresses, she doesn't seem very bright.

I've been watching all along also OP, and loving every minute of it. I have to admit I never knew Miriam was lesbo. She can be quite the curmudgeon though. And I'm seeing a Alan in a much different light. He displays some surprisingly sexy vibes, and I have to admit I find his laugh endearing. So glad he got those awful hair extensions taken out while they were in LA.

Miriam is very funny but as common as muck.

One thing that shocked me was when they were out on the beach near the apartment building where Miriam used to live during her time in LA. They visited a seaside restaurant that was owned by a Scottish woman when Miriam lived there and where she said she went to practically, and low and behold the same woman still owned the place and was there. When she and Miriam met up again Miriam didn't seem all that excited about seeing her again other than to say she never dreamed she'd see her again. I felt a little sorry for the restaurant owner. It was after that that I figured out that Miriam is just that sort. She just doesn't show emotions in the extreme. She seems rather sad.
