Just saw him on the Today show. He's so bloated he looks like he's going to pop his collar. He also seems dead behind the eyes, miserable.
Why is he still being trotted out when there are thousands of people who can give vapid entertainment headlines and would be easier on the eyes for morning TV?
He looked the same in this segment last month, which unfortunately reminded people of his younger years when he seemed to be somewhat cute and happy.

He seemed to have Thyroid eyes when he was younger. I assumed he was coked up or something back then and the weight gain was associated with going clean.

Carson Daly is pleasant.
He has found the perfect niche...morning television.
He always seemed like the nerdy guy who's into music. He's likable and inoffensive...again perfect for morning tv.
His mental health may be a factor in his weight gain. Last week he hosted an event on dealing with mental health issues. Unfortunately the event featured that Montecito couple.

Well OP, 25 years have passed. He isn't going to look like he did when he was in his twenties, is he? At least he looks somewhat normal doesn't have the botoxed face of a melting Ken doll, as most of his contemporaries do. Personally, I never found him more than passably cute and he has always had an extremely bland personality, but I think that this is what makes him ideal for light infotainment: inane gossip is being presented and discussed by an inane person.
By the way, TRL has to be one of the most annoying shows in history, even if it had remarkable episodes like when Mariah decided to go insane during a live appearance on the show, and stripped while asking Carson to be her therapist because 'everyone needs a little therapy sometimes, and today is that day for me!'
