An Oscar, a much loved hit (Romy and Michelle) and now Dancing with the Stars?
Mira Sorvino--what went wrong?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | October 5, 2023 9:20 PM |
She didn’t suck off Harvey Weinstein.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | October 4, 2023 12:54 AM |
Post-Its.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | October 4, 2023 12:55 AM |
NOT sucking off Harvey is it's own reward. Mira is a hero.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | October 4, 2023 2:07 AM |
but why did non-Weinstein films not hire her?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | October 4, 2023 10:08 PM |
Because Weinstein or his people put out the word she was difficult, demanding, box-office poison, etc.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | October 4, 2023 10:40 PM |
Weinstein blackballed her.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | October 4, 2023 10:47 PM |
I do remember stories that she was "difficult."
She supposedly lost out on replacing Natasha Richardson in Cabaret (per a cast member) because of that and allegedly told off a director at the Golden Globes "don't you know who I am?!?! I'm an Oscar winner.
All of that may have been smear tactics though now from Harvey.

Try "Lucky with no talents catches up with a bitch."
by Anonymous | reply 8 | October 5, 2023 2:07 AM |
Nothing went wrong. She took a stand and should be proud of that. She knew her career would be damaged by Harvey Prickstein.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 5, 2023 7:19 AM |
Weinstein smears aside, she is a well-known cunt. Her father too.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | October 5, 2023 8:23 AM |
She is also a very bad actress. But no one deserves to be Weinstein-ed.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | October 5, 2023 9:09 AM |
She also tried to become a leading lady after her Oscar win and starred in a couple of flops. Romy and Michelle took a few years after its initial release to become a cult classic.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | October 5, 2023 10:18 AM |
[quote] Weinstein blackballed her.
Because she blue balled him.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | October 5, 2023 10:23 AM |
You do realize her Oscar win was 30 years ago? Even if she hadn't been blackballed by Weinstein, she almost certainly would be entering this phase now. She's in a looks and youth-obsessed business and is within sight of 60.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | October 5, 2023 10:50 AM |
I think she's a great actress.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | October 5, 2023 12:33 PM |
She made some bitchy comment recently about being tainted by winning an Oscar for a Woody Allen movie
by Anonymous | reply 16 | October 5, 2023 1:33 PM |
Not that great of an actress and she wouldn’t fuck Woody Allen.
If you’re looks are a 6 and your talent is 5, you better spread those legs darlin.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | October 5, 2023 1:48 PM |
Did she not give an unsimulated blowjob in some indie movie? Or was that someone else?

That was Chloe Sevigny
by Anonymous | reply 20 | October 5, 2023 2:36 PM |
Thanks R20 that's right, she sucked off that horny dude with the hair from Six Feet Under
by Anonymous | reply 21 | October 5, 2023 3:00 PM |
The SAG strike...
by Anonymous | reply 22 | October 5, 2023 3:11 PM |
Nothing. She has had the career she was meant to have.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | October 5, 2023 3:14 PM |
Bitch, you're in the company of other women like Diane Keaton, Dianne Wiest, Penelope Cruz, Cate Blanchett.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | October 5, 2023 3:28 PM |
R24 big Mira doesn't see it like that. She thinks it's cool to drop her panties and shite over the person who cast and directed her to an Oscar, despite the fact almost all the other nominees that year were more deserving. No such thing as innocent til proven guilty in Mira's book.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | October 5, 2023 3:32 PM |
She doesn't have a leading lady face.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | October 5, 2023 3:40 PM |
That article with Mira crapping all over Woody Allen made me hate her pathetic, thirsty guts. I don't even like Allen as a person (though I don't believe he molested Dylan), but that's just shitty. He gave her the role that was her ONLY Oscar nominee (and which she won, despite better nominees), and now 28 years later she denounces him because it's trendy? Done with her. Done.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | October 5, 2023 3:46 PM |
I felt the same when I read it R27 plus the fact she wrote an open letter to Mia and the daughter for the attention, otherwise she could have privately communicated her apologies to them if that's how she felt.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | October 5, 2023 3:48 PM |
I don't think she deserved her Oscar. She's only won acclaim for playing dumbos.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | October 5, 2023 4:15 PM |
Moaning Mira beat
Kate Winslet (Sense and Sensibility)
Joan Allen (Nixon)
Kathleen Quinlan (Apollo 13)
Mare Winningham (Georgia)
by Anonymous | reply 30 | October 5, 2023 4:21 PM |
Forgettable. That Oscar win was a joke.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | October 5, 2023 4:21 PM |
She was always with the worst people. Weinstein...Allen... she even actually fucked the disgusting Tarantino. She’s a neon hire. She’s not missed on the screen.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | October 5, 2023 4:29 PM |
*nepo not neon
by Anonymous | reply 33 | October 5, 2023 4:29 PM |
She is a truly mediocre actress and an extremely disliked bitch.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | October 5, 2023 4:31 PM |
Her hair color never seems to look natural, esp. at R16. She simply looks better with dark hair. Even Angelina Jolie can't pull off blonde hair.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | October 5, 2023 4:32 PM |
Her being a brown noser only got her so far it seems.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | October 5, 2023 4:43 PM |
Regardless of what happened to her I still say "Dancing with the Stars?" Can you imagine?
by Anonymous | reply 37 | October 5, 2023 8:07 PM |
I can think of at least three performances that should have been nominated over Sorvino that year-
Rachel Griffiths for Muriel's Wedding
Deborah Harry for Heavy
Judy Parfitt for Dolores Claiborne
Sorvino was wretched in Mighty Aphrodite, but then the Supporting Actress category is the one the Oscars seem to consistently get wrong. In the past 40 years, you could count on one hand the times they've chosen the best performance.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | October 5, 2023 8:17 PM |
Good call R38 I forgot that was the year they snubbed Parfitt for this wretched little fart.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | October 5, 2023 8:46 PM |
Speaking of her...this was on the other night.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | October 5, 2023 9:06 PM |
Isn't she cheating on Dancing since she was a trained dancer?
by Anonymous | reply 41 | October 5, 2023 9:06 PM |
Not any more than Marilu Henner was, r41.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | October 5, 2023 9:11 PM |
You would think a Harvard graduate would have a better career trajectory than washed-up actress.
