Falling Down (1993)

Michael Douglas loses it in the middle of a downtown traffic jam and goes on an increasingly violent murder spree across Los Angeles until he corners his ex-wife and child on the Venice Pier.

Robert Duvall also stars as the “detective on his last day before retirement” cliché.

Justified, or just another Karen with a gun?

It’s a very negative movie, but it shows the mentality of Americans very accurately. That is not a good thing.

Isn’t this the first time in film history that a white person admitted he’s the bad guy?

Hated this film back then but many people love it. I am a MD fan and will obsessively watch anything he stars in. Douglas makes entertaining films.

I liked it when we saw it on TV. Michael gave a really good performance as a mild man pushed too far

I've fallen and I can't get up!

But he’s not a “mild man who’s pushed too far”. He’s a fucking psycho.

Michael did this role to remind people he was a serious dramatic actor. At the time he felt typecast as a sex symbol in erotic thrillers or sexy comedies.

I worked at an insurance company for way too many years. There was a guy I worked with who identified a lot with this movie, I mean a lot. He talked about it constantly.

Ha. I am an obsessive Douglas fan but never registered him as a sex symbol. Not even attractive but I love all the raunchy sex movies he made back in the 90s . Disclosure is a "reversed sexual harassment" story with a side dish of virtual reality and it is a scream. He still stars in excellent films worth seeing today.

He’s like an uber-Karen. He even says “haven’t you heard the customer is always right?”

A Karen with a gun. Otherwise known as a Republican.

And a fat Tuesday Weld.

[quote] And a fat Tuesday Weld.

She does come off pretty ugly in this film.

But then, everyone in this film is ugly
