Socialist mayor, Anne Hidalgo, wants to build social housing on the very chic Avenue George V, in the center of Paris
The luxurious Prince de Galles hotel is just a stone's throw away, Louis Vuitton and Fouquet's just a few hundred meters away. The City of Paris wishes to sell to Paris Habitat the building it owns at 37 on the very chic avenue George V in the 8th arrondissement. This, with a view to seeing “health facilities, shops and housing installed there, including 70% social rental housing and 30% free housing”, indicates the town hall in a deliberation which should be presented during the next Paris council scheduled from Tuesday October 3 to Friday October 6, 2023.
The building located 37 avenue George V and 14 rue Quentin Bauchart, in freestone, was built in 1880. It consists of a ground floor and 5 floors as well as an interior courtyard, a useful surface area of 3,630 m².

Good! Council estates shouldn't be relegated to certain areas of the city only, that's how you end up with ghettos. Same for rich gated communities. You need to have them randomly in small numbers all over, so different classes can mix on a daily basis. That makes for a healthy urban environment instead of a pressure cooker that blows every so often.

That's like saying you need to spread your cancer cells around. Then just sit back and wait for them to grow large tumors.
