I'd think they'd come up with a narrative to comfort themselves that he's not an idiot, even if it's as simple as "boys will be boys." Years ago, the mom of the kid who ate a slug on a dare and got some crazy infection that paralyzed him that then eventually killed him totally had that narrative down - to the point of being defensive. I thought it was odd in her case since there's the simple narrative that there's really no way her son could have foreseen that extreme sequence of events, as where Beam Dreams really should have known the dangers of contact with a concrete beam.

Teenagers do stupid things. That's really sad - something he presumably thought was silly fun, now numerous lives are ruined.

I wonder if he was drunk? Even teenagers know that the ceilings of parking garages are very, very low, and they are crisscrossed with beams. I don't think most sober teens would have tried what he did.

I think people think they'll use them way more than they think. They can be nice for getting some cool air without the same level of noise as the lower windows. But I'd never pay extra for a sunroof. The one time I had one, I just didn't use it that much.
