Believe it, or not…
McConnell will not allow block on open Judiciary spot

Is his own imminent death finally making Mitch soft?
by Anonymous | reply 1 | September 29, 2023 11:04 PM |
Actually, it doesn’t look like McConnell is the one saying it in this article, but I hope it’s true.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | September 29, 2023 11:04 PM |
Um, duh… Cornyn was speaking for the minority leadership. Do you think he did not have McTurtle’s blessing?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | September 29, 2023 11:06 PM |
Watch out for a trick….
by Anonymous | reply 4 | September 29, 2023 11:28 PM |
Shocked if this turns out to be true and it holds. This is very unlike the Repukes, especially McTurtle.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | September 29, 2023 11:31 PM |
I'm stunned, but will wait to see it.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | September 29, 2023 11:34 PM |
I don’t know if Cornyn & McConnell talked or not. I don’t assume anything these days. I hope it’s true, but we’ll see. I really thought that was one of the reasons Feinstein wasn’t leaving.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | September 29, 2023 11:35 PM |
I'm certain it was, r7.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | September 29, 2023 11:37 PM |
I don't believe it for a second. He's never been trustworthy. Something is up, for sure.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | September 29, 2023 11:38 PM |
President Biden knows these senators personally. I'm sure some favors were called in. That or McConnell knows he's overplayed his hand with the judiciary.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | September 29, 2023 11:43 PM |
Well maybe Mitch understands that it isn’t a good time to interfere with the Judiciary since Kevin McCarthy is determined to tank the government.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 30, 2023 1:12 AM |
He's hoping that by changing his ways, he can avoid going to hell.
Sorry, Bitch! Not gonna happen.
Your spot is already reserved!
by Anonymous | reply 13 | September 30, 2023 1:14 AM |
Yeah, right.
Never
Ever
Ever
Trust a fucking word they say. And even IF it turns out to be true, you can bet Schumer gave away the farm for it to make any appointment moot.

In a fantasy world, Gavin would chose Kamala to take the senate seat and then Biden would have a fighting chance of being re-elected (with a solid running mate from a swing state aka GW).
God that would be amazing
by Anonymous | reply 15 | September 30, 2023 1:38 AM |
AND Kamala was previously already serving on the judiciary committee.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 30, 2023 1:40 AM |
he's still a cunt
by Anonymous | reply 17 | September 30, 2023 1:41 AM |
He hasn't heard from ME! I'm powerful, you know, one of the five most powerful senators.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | September 30, 2023 1:44 AM |
McConnell can't die soon enough for my liking.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | September 30, 2023 1:45 AM |
I'll believe it when it happens. Republicans are liars who always go back on their word.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | September 30, 2023 1:46 AM |
They must know something we are not privy to. Perhaps something about Trump and are trying to suck up to Biden or the polling is way off for them in 2024. McConnell is an evil genius. Plays the game better than most, do not underestimate the man.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 30, 2023 3:39 AM |
Except he’s having mini-strokes so maybe he’s lost his edge.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | September 30, 2023 4:53 PM |
If they don't allow a vote to repalce DiFI on the Judiciary, Schumer should not allow a vote on a budget and let the government shut the fuck down. The Republicans will be blamed regardless, so it's a win-win situation. It's time Democrats start playing hardball just like the Republicans.

[quote]It's time Democrats start playing hardball just like the Republicans.
Harry Reid invoked the nuclear option to prevent filibusters of Obama's appointments, other than for Supreme Court. Does that not fit your definition of hardball?

R23 is clueless
by Anonymous | reply 25 | October 1, 2023 4:24 AM |
That was a decade ago, R24. We're in another era.
Likewise, R25.
