I use the Outdoor Walk app every day. Somehow yesterday I accidentally changed the settings and now I can’t undo it. Instead of the default display information, I get a running count of cal burned, distance, or time. I’ve googled this every way I can think of and followed the advice I found there, but nothing has worked. I’m hoping someone here knows what do to cancel whatever I did and get the default display back.

Sounds like you need a new one. Why don't you go to the mall, stand in line at the Apple Store, and then fork out another $1000 for some dipshit product?

OP you need a liquid reset. Drop your watch in a glass of lemonade and let it soak overnight. Next day it should be right as rain!

I am running it right now. Default is:
Time
Active Calories
Heart rate
Average Pace
Distance
What are you seeing?

Honestly, it is probably just easier to reset it, rather than figure out what setting you may have changed.
ON your iPhone, watch app, then general, scroll down to the bottom, choose reset. You will have to re-pair your watch after it is done.
All your exercise data should remain on your phone and will be backed up.

By time, I mean Elapsed Time

Go ask on Reddit in the Apple Watch subreddit

Give it a good finger wagging with a stern "Bad watch."

A sign from G-d that you are too fucking fat.

R3 All of those used to be displayed while I was walking. I didn’t have to choose just one. That’s the default I’m talking about.
R4 Do you mean reset rather than repair?
R6 I might try that. I thought of this place first because I don’t use Reddit.
Everybody else - Very funny, but you could just say you don’t know - and don’t care.

Try swiping the screen

OP, if it makes you feel any better, I'm tech-clueless enough that I didn't realize Outdoor Walk was an option until now. It's not on my default Workout menu and I hadn't realized there was a huge list of additional options from which to choose.
But I just opened Outdoor Walk on my watch and as R10 said, swiping changes the display (and advances the position of the white dot that indicates how many display cards you can access).

R10 & R11 Swipe which way? I can use the 3 dots to take me to a menu to choose one measure, but I can’t turn them off. When I choose “Open” it still just shows one running variable.

Restart your watch

Have you tried scrolling up or down? I haven't been able to make is show what you say it is showing

If you press the 3 little dots in the upper rt corner of the Walk screen, it takes you to a screen with 4 boxes.

OP, I can't recreate your problem, either. Have you tried the Watch app on your phone? If you select My Watch at the bottom, then scroll down to Workout, then select Workout View, you can scroll through the Workouts list to Outdoor Walk.
At the top of that screen, upper right, there's an edit button that will show you two lists, Metrics and Do Not Include. Is everything enabled that should be enabled?

Okay, I clicked on the three dots when I go to Outdoor Walk. If I click on that I see the four boxes. Above the boxes on the right I see three lines like this:
-----
---
-
I tapped that and chose Suggested, then I hit the x on the upper left to close that menu.
That takes me back to the four boxes. Then I tap the back arrow to go back to choosing a workout.
Then I tapped outdoor walk IN THE BOX. Tap the green man.
That took me into the default workout, showing all of the info for the ongoing workout.

Thanks R17. I don’t have the 3 lines. The upper right corner just has the time. Must be a different version or something. 🤷
Thanks for trying, though!
