I keep removing threads from my watched list, and they keep returning.

That's been happening for years, OP. You probably just want to get used to it.

Actually I never had a problem with it until now, r1. I guess I WAS one of the lucky ones.

There's a trick to it, OP. You can't have other DL tabs open, or they will preserve the watched threads list as it is. Click the orange eye of the thread you want to discard, so that it's black, and then click onto another selection from your watched threads list. That should do it. The one you've de-selected should have a black eye.

I’ve actually given up trying to remove threads from the watchlist because of this issue.

I’d be even happier if I could block a thread and have it stay blocked.

OP in your case it's payback for all the stupid threads you start.

OP, I find that once I deselect a thread then I have to not refresh the page for several minutes. I have never worked out why or how long I need to wait exactly but it does seem to work.
