They're being held because of the trespassing charge, but you can be sure there are other things that will get tacked on. All the footage still exists on the various streaming services so technically, it can be used as evidence, but since the morons are already in custody, law enforcement probably doesn't need it. In Japan, you're guilty until proven innocent. Absolutely they were monitoring their streams and knew that they would do something that would be an offense that would put them away. They gave the police their opportunity and they pounced.

Although some feel they will be released after 28+ days with no charges and deported, there is a very large sentiment that they're made an example of so others won't try to do this as well.

Wanted to add that even though Japan's recidivism rate is low but rising, part of those numbers are seniors who commit minor crimes so they can be incarcerated to have a roof over their head, food and health care. Many have no families so jail is a good place for them.
