I like a few of their songs in earnest. Muscially, God Saves The Queen and EMI certainly stand up.
I became a huge Public Image Ltd fan very young, even before I tried to get into the Pistols. And I still am a PiL fan, at age 50. But when I look back on the Pistols, I feel confusion above all. You hear about Sid Vicious not being able to play a single note and one wonders...what was that? Was it John Lydon selling them with his charisma and vocal prowess? Was there a "there" there? I really can't be sure.
