As for today, I'm not sure where you can find them, but I agree with OP that they are fun and in the right color can add a nice bit of texture to your outfit.

I remember wearing them to school in the early to mid-70s. I'm sure they also had Lee and Wrangler cords? They were "boot cut" meaning moderately bell-bottomed. We usually had chunky heels on our shoes or boots. Never wore sneakers to school.

I remember wearing cords when was I was in elementary school in the 1960s (especially since jeans were not worn to school). But also pants that were like blue jeans but came in colors like brown, tan, red, etc. We used to wear them short, way above the ankle - that was a hugely popular thing at the time. I think you can see the Beach Boys wearing their pants like that. With somewhat pointy, lace-up Thom McAn shoes.

memo to the nursing home - corduroys have been acceptable for adult men to wear as pants for well more than a decade now.

Funnily enough there are some great chords in Skate shops. Maybe not Levi brand but Thrift shops have some classic ones now and then.

I never knew they were out, especially after Labor Day up to May.

I used to buy the very light tan ones at the Gap at 73rd and Broadway. 29/30 IIRC.
