In 1979 I was in seventh grade and we all wore Levi’s cords. They came in many colors cans were what everyone wore—both males and females.
Do they still make these? I’d love to find them again.

God, I forgot about those. At this age, shouldn't you be looking for adult pants?

Honey, you're not 12 years old. You'll never be 12 years old again.

You can wear them with Keds!

“ I’d love to find them again.”
OP at 56 yrs old, what would you do if you found them?

Fun Fact, Fraus at that time didnt have an affair with Yankee Candles, it was all about macrame plant hangers. The more the better.

I’m surprised they haven’t made a comeback sometime along the line, since everything eventually does.

Sometimes dead is better.

A Qiana shirt and mood ring would really complete the ensemble.

I still remember a pair of red cords I had in middle school. God help me.
As for today, I'm not sure where you can find them, but I agree with OP that they are fun and in the right color can add a nice bit of texture to your outfit.
Just stay away from the red ones. Trust me on this. 😉

R9, And a puka shells necklace.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | September 28, 2023 1:09 PM |
They still sell them you fools. Jesus H Crist, try Google.

I remember wearing them to school in the early to mid-70s. I'm sure they also had Lee and Wrangler cords? They were "boot cut" meaning moderately bell-bottomed. We usually had chunky heels on our shoes or boots. Never wore sneakers to school.
I remember wearing cords when was I was in elementary school in the 1960s (especially since jeans were not worn to school). But also pants that were like blue jeans but came in colors like brown, tan, red, etc. We used to wear them short, way above the ankle - that was a hugely popular thing at the time. I think you can see the Beach Boys wearing their pants like that. With somewhat pointy, lace-up Thom McAn shoes.
Excuse the walk down memory lane...

I totally agree with you R12 but most posters on Datalounge have never heard of Google. This is proven over and over.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 28, 2023 2:27 PM |
They made a swishing sound when you walked.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | September 28, 2023 2:34 PM |
Especially if you swished.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | September 28, 2023 2:35 PM |
I remember mine made swishing sounds cause my fat thighs pressed together.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | September 28, 2023 2:39 PM |
That was not your pants making that sound R17.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | September 28, 2023 4:01 PM |
Get them and wear them with your Dingo boots.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 28, 2023 4:08 PM |
They've made a comeback at least once in the last 20 or so years. Some DLers not only don't use Google but they also don't notice what's around them.

I was styling in my tan cords and light blue button up shirt.
I remember cords being popular with some of my high school teachers back in the day.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | September 28, 2023 4:21 PM |
R22 Maybe where we are it wasn't around us.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | September 28, 2023 4:22 PM |
Have you ever heard of Amazon, OP?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | September 28, 2023 4:56 PM |
memo to the nursing home - corduroys have been acceptable for adult men to wear as pants for well more than a decade now.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | September 28, 2023 5:01 PM |
Funnily enough there are some great chords in Skate shops. Maybe not Levi brand but Thrift shops have some classic ones now and then.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | September 28, 2023 5:09 PM |
I never knew they were out, especially after Labor Day up to May.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | September 28, 2023 5:13 PM |
I used to buy the very light tan ones at the Gap at 73rd and Broadway. 29/30 IIRC.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | September 28, 2023 5:20 PM |
R22 is correct, I remember them in the late 90s/early 00s
