The theme from Karen. It's the Beach Boys, yo!
(Sorry. Mentions of The Wire bring out the yo! in me.)

Friends theme “I’ll be There for You” by The Rembrandts. I actually liked the song for hearing it on the radio but never actually watched the show.

Absolute ear worm, this one. Once it's in your brain it's in there daily for weeks. Months. Decades.

I love this song. Of course the actual show is famously insufferable.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | September 24, 2023 3:34 PM |
The opening theme to The Prisoner is amazing. It always gives me the warmest feelings and makes me so excited for the episode. Same guy who did The Prisoner theme also did the theme for Doctor Who
"Ronald Erle Grainer (11 August 1922 – 21 February 1981) was an Australian composer who worked for most of his professional career in the United Kingdom. He is mostly remembered for his television and film score music, especially the theme music for Doctor Who, The Prisoner, Steptoe and Son and Tales of the Unexpected."

Since The Sopranos was already mentioned, I find this one to be a great opening and perfect for the show at this time. A great 80's vibe. One Life To Live and Peabo.

I actually just love it as a song, independent of the show.

Intro song from What We Do in the Shadows. I was suprised to learn it’s a song from the ‘60s! It perfectly fits the show.

The theme from Twin Peaks was perfect for the show. I read that David Lynch, always the micromanager, worked very closely with the composer.

Theme song from Mannix. I liked most Lalo Schifrin theme songs, come to think of it.

Same here R60! My tv went through my stereo system so it sounded great. Must have pissed the neighbours off though.
Try R59 because it's better quality and sports the full cast we all know. I just listened at high volume and it got me all pumped up like it used to! Now what do I do?!?

On February 28, 1983, an estimated 60 percent of American households flicked on their televisions and tuned their sets to CBS for the series finale of M*A*S*H - "Goodbye, Farewell and Amen." According to the analytics company, that final installment got a 60.2 Nielsen rating and is the highest-rated telecast to date.
Both the instrumental and the vocal versions of the theme haunt me. Instant throwback to the late 70s - early 80s.

"Melrose Place," with the moody, atmospheric laid-back 1990s synthesizer line that bursts to life when the characters are introduced. Monday was always a crummy night of the week because you'd gone back to work, and this song always made me happy when it came on.
Evil Michael! Evil but hilarious Sydney! Crazy Kimberly! Boring Matt and Jane!

Impossible to choose a "favorite" single theme out of 70 years of television.
I like just a few of those mentioned above. Nobody has mentioned the Dexter theme, the Equalizer, Johnny Quest, Danger Man theme "Highwire", or the Gary Shandling Show theme.

R73, I'm such a fan of that show I bought a Lumon Industries . I think it's the first time I ever bought something from clicking on those targeted banner ads.
I do hope there is a Season 2 and maybe end. I love it but I don't think it could possibly go on without being repetitive or becoming a whole new show.
