Sounds like the WGA and Studio CEOs are finally close to a deal

Good. Hopefully this will all end

Finally, that True Detective bump to January fucking broke me, I've been looking forward to it for so long. Not to mention that we were homophobically robbed of the Red, White & Royal Blue promo tour, and now the Fellow Travellers one as well.

R1 So long as you're not being inconvenienced.

by Anonymousreply 2September 23, 2023 8:56 PM

R1 homophobic? Honey, all press for all shows and movies have been canceled. Not just the gay ones.

by Anonymousreply 3September 23, 2023 9:00 PM

So the WGA strike is almost over. Yay. We'll be able to watch Bill Maher and Drew Barrymore. Yay.

What about SAG/AFTRA?

by Anonymousreply 4September 23, 2023 9:00 PM

A joke, R3, a joke.

by Anonymousreply 5September 23, 2023 9:09 PM

Has Greg commented yet?

by Anonymousreply 6September 23, 2023 9:36 PM

Thank goodness. I read today that once a deal is done with the WGA, it could possibly be used as a template for a deal with the actors.

by Anonymousreply 7September 23, 2023 10:15 PM

Because they are striking over a different set of issues?🧐

by Anonymousreply 8September 23, 2023 10:48 PM

Deal reached. It's over.

by Anonymousreply 9September 25, 2023 2:21 AM

WGA leadership is calling the deal "exceptional" with meaningful gains for all sections of their membership. Sounds like the studios woke up and realized they were going to get labelled as the spoilers in all of this (rightfully so), so they got down to business and hammered out a fair deal.

Next up: SAG/AFTRA.

by Anonymousreply 10September 25, 2023 2:33 AM

The Last of Us still won't return until 2025. Shit, I like that show.

by Anonymousreply 11September 25, 2023 2:35 AM

Well, the actors are still on strike, so it's not as if new shows are anywhere near happening.

by Anonymousreply 12September 25, 2023 3:30 AM

Great news! Now I hope SAG whoops on them even worse. Don’t even get me started on the UAW.

by Anonymousreply 13September 25, 2023 3:39 AM

Let’s concentrate on the impending government shutdown.

by Anonymousreply 14September 25, 2023 3:43 AM

There's been so much content produced over the past few years that they really don't need to make anything new for a while. As a consumer, it just gives me time to catch up.
