Cassidy Hutchinson's new book "Enough" should really be titled "Too Much"

On top of all the indignities suffered in Trump's White House, she got groped by Giuliani. EEW🤢🤮 Of course, Rudy is threatening to sue her for defamation. Can you imagine the discovery phase?

[QUOTE] Describing the backstage scene at Trump’s speech, she writes: “I find Rudy in the back of the tent with, among others, John Eastman. The corners of his mouth split into a Cheshire cat smile. Waving a stack of documents, he moves towards me, like a wolf closing in on its prey.

[QUOTE] We have the evidence. It’s all here. We’re going to pull this off.’ Rudy wraps one arm around my body, closing the space that was separating us. I feel his stack of documents press into the small of my back. I lower my eyes and watch his free hand reach for the hem of my blazer.

[QUOTE] "'By the way,’ he says, fingering the fabric, ‘I’m loving this leather jacket on you.’ His hand slips under my blazer, then my skirt.”

[QUOTE] I feel his frozen fingers trail up my thigh. He tilts his chin up. The whites of his eyes look jaundiced. My eyes dart to John Eastman, who flashes a leering grin. I fight against the tension in my muscles and recoil from Rudy’s grip… filled with rage, I storm through the tent, on yet another quest for Mark.”

"I'm loving this leather jacket on you" That's some smooth talk there...

Rudy defends his honor to the skeeviest man in the GQP.

I am glad that more nasty, gross details are coming out. I hope that they are all true and Cassidy didn't leave herself open for being wholly discredited a la Dan Rather with Memogate. And assuming they ARE true, I'm sad and horrified that Cassidy and most likely other women had to endure this kind of treatment, I am curious just how surprised they were when it happened though.

Is it too much, OP? Perhaps, but it needs to be said. However your thread title really made me chuckle.

by Anonymousreply 3September 23, 2023 8:16 PM

You took a long hard look at my ass and played golf for a while! 😩

by Anonymousreply 4September 23, 2023 8:22 PM

It never occurred to any of these gross motherfuckers that this young woman would tell all.

by Anonymousreply 5September 23, 2023 8:28 PM

Ghoulani was barely tolerated. During the J6 hearings it was made clear Ghoulani was not to be allowed to be in the White house unattended.

by Anonymousreply 6September 23, 2023 8:42 PM

She also says Trump didn't like wearing masks because it would smudge his makeup. *chuckles*

by Anonymousreply 7September 23, 2023 8:42 PM

Rudy has a lot of nerve accusing others of defamation

Ask Ruby and Shaye

So true, look at that fucker pretending to be so appalled by the charges when we know he totally knows it's true and believes that any Trumpista has a complete right to grab any pussy he feels like.

by Anonymousreply 9September 23, 2023 8:48 PM

Probably the only time I've enjoyed Molly Jong-Fast on MSNBC was when she referred to Rudy's cameo in Borat 2 to demonstrate a "pattern of behavior, ON VIDEO!" LOL

by Anonymousreply 10September 23, 2023 8:51 PM

Are any Trump White House associates truly safe? That's not something nice to wake up to in the morning, but it's precisely what they signed up for. No cash for bond, bitches!

by Anonymousreply 11September 24, 2023 7:25 AM

I have TOTAL admiration for Cassidy but I'm a bit surprised (impressed?) that she's making her TV interview with Rachel Maddow rather than on one of the big primetime network shows like Dateline or 20/20 with someone like Diane Sawyer.

by Anonymousreply 12September 24, 2023 10:23 AM

She did her first interview on CBS's Sunday Morning. I haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

I don't think much of anyone who worked in that WH.

by Anonymousreply 15September 24, 2023 6:49 PM

I was going to get the audiobook but then the description of it was trying to position her as some kind of, I don' know, pseudo-proto-feminist icon, "the story of a young woman," blah, blah, blah and I thought, "I don't really care what this Republican bitch did in high school."

See how she fares with Rachael tomorrow night. I imagine it'll be a lot like her testimony, "I recall he said...something like...."

You were in the Trump WH. Doesn't make you Fawn Hall. Or even Hope Hicks.

by Anonymousreply 16September 24, 2023 7:15 PM

I'm glad she's speaking the truth - but all of these Republican bitches who enable these craven disgusting lying Republicans can truly go fuck themselves.

Their own movement has members wondering if women should have the right to vote at all. Seriously.

Don't tell me they don't know what they're getting into or who they're supporting. They've been in Republican camps long enough to know the behavior and ideology of their party.

If it weren't for LIBERALS fighting for women's rights and against sexual harassment, she wouldn't have any grounds or even be there in the first place.

I'm so sick of conservatives relying on the protections that liberals fought for to defend and protect them. I'm also looking at you Log Cabin Republicans.

by Anonymousreply 17September 24, 2023 7:26 PM

I hope all you bitches going after Cassidy realize her testimony was THE turning point in the Jan. 6 hearings.

The results of the hearings wouldn't have been nearly as powerful against Dump had she not had the bravery (yes, bravery) to speak up against him and his cronies and stooges. The bravery and self-possession most of the grown men abetting the asshole in the WH lacked.

by Anonymousreply 18September 24, 2023 9:24 PM

Rachel Maddow will treat her with kid gloves. I’d like to see Mehdi Hasan interview her.

by Anonymousreply 19September 25, 2023 12:05 AM

“You can never have too much of me!”

by Anonymousreply 20September 25, 2023 12:12 AM

If it wasn’t for liberals, she’d be sitting on the front porch churning butter!

by Anonymousreply 21September 25, 2023 7:43 AM

It’ll be interesting to see if she has a personality beyond “neutral truth teller”.

I’m sure her publisher hopes so.

by Anonymousreply 22September 25, 2023 7:45 AM

She’s no Hope Hicks!

by Anonymousreply 23September 25, 2023 7:48 AM

r19, what do you think Mehdi would unearth that Rachel won't?

by Anonymousreply 24September 25, 2023 9:56 AM

Vocal fry, but no up speak. Have never heard of Christopher Newport University, but it was created as an extension of William & Mary then became independent.

I hope she makes a good pile off this book because I don't see her as any kind of high flyer. I'm glad she testified but she's quite stupid to have chosen to work in that repulsive administration and still now is a committed REFUG.

by Anonymousreply 25September 25, 2023 11:04 AM

That people like her are still republican is telling. They know negative press against Dump for some inexplicable reason only helps him. She can victimize herself for a few dollars. And then she can continue supporting a party that devalues her because, well, she’s got hers, and she can just fly to California for an abortion. But fuck everyone else, right? Fuck her. And fuck any non-conservative outlet that interviews her. Let her try peddling her book on Fox and OAN.

by Anonymousreply 26September 25, 2023 11:23 AM

Why the fuck didn't she punch the motherfucker in the face when he put his slimy hands on her? Furthermore, why the fuck has no father/husband/brother/ boyfriend ever beat the shit out of Trump. Epstein went after wounded children but Trump has raped women while their husband's backs were turned. He went after Ivank's friends, the teenage beauty contestants, hundreds of women. Why has no one ever punched him in the face? I think, republicans like rape and rapists, like real men, not wimpy soy boys. Not that republican women enjoy rape but it certainly seems that they consider it one hundred percent forgivable/slightly admirable.

R24, it isn't about "unearthing" anything, it's that I think he's a much better interviewer.

He would ask her why she's still a republican. Maddow wouldn't.

by Anonymousreply 28September 25, 2023 2:18 PM

CH was a very clear narrator. She was able to recount her experiences in a very compelling and confident way for someone who is only 27 now.

by Anonymousreply 29September 25, 2023 2:42 PM

Cassidy had bombshell after bombshell during her Jann6 testimony. It was pretty thrilling to watch. I also believe it was a turning point as others have pointed out.

That said, I was disappointed to hear that she’s still a Republican after everything she went through in that ghastly White House. At the end of the day, those people always stick together.

by Anonymousreply 30September 25, 2023 4:26 PM

by Anonymousreply 32September 25, 2023 5:02 PM

Well, we shall just see what Rachel asks Cassidy.

by Anonymousreply 33September 25, 2023 5:16 PM

Not buying the book. She's still a Republican. Fuck that. She's too stupid to see that they're all nuts and still bent on destroying the country. Only the characters have changed. How fucking stupid can she be? Is there a Republican agenda that she thinks is what this country needs? Why are they all still Republicans? What do they think they can get from the Republicans? Do they really believe that the current Republicans have a viable way to fix the country that they ALL had a hand in destroying?

They make me furious.

I'm with David Jolly, former Republican rep from Florida. He says the only way out of this mess is to vote for Democrats.

by Anonymousreply 34September 25, 2023 5:35 PM

The Republican Party will not self correct. They don't have the integrity and the powerful officials are getting what they want for themselves and the plutocrats.

Cassidy: “I’ve never dated Matt Gaetz”

That’s damn right, bitch!

by Anonymousreply 38September 26, 2023 2:27 AM

In another context, I might find her attractive; as it is, no.

She seems to be watching every word that comes out of her mouth.

by Anonymousreply 39September 26, 2023 2:29 AM

by Anonymousreply 49September 26, 2023 5:44 AM

R27 may be on to something. Republican women may not admire/ like rape outright, but they 10000% think it’s a boys will be boys thing and don’t consider it criminal.

The republican party seems to be desperately trying to keep women like Alyssa Farrah Griffin, Ana Navarro, and now Cassidy Hutchinson on the payroll to prove they’re not all that batshit insane. It’s not working but god bless.

by Anonymousreply 50September 26, 2023 7:14 AM

She has a lisp on Maddow's that I did not notice when she testified. She shounds a bit like Lizha. Did she have dental work?

by Anonymousreply 51September 26, 2023 9:14 AM

Didn't see the full interview but really thought Cassidy came off well, so self-possessed, in the clip at r45. Did Rachel ask her if she could still support any Repug candidates? I'd be disappointed if Rachel didn't and if Cassidy said she could. Nevertheless, I think we can all be grateful for Cassidy's bravery in coming through during the 1/6 hearings, what an enormous difference she made. And it sounds like a lot of the new allegations in her book will only reinforce all that.

Anyway, hopefully the question will come up in later interviews.

by Anonymousreply 52September 26, 2023 9:35 AM

From what I've read about the interview, the book "revelations" are somewhat less than explosive.

I mean, she totally talks out of both sides of her mouth about Gaetz. They were friends but she didn't hold him in high regard... huh??

While it did take a lot of guts for her to come forward... bottom line is she is still a republican. She just doesn't seem very bright to me. Her youth is no excuse.

by Anonymousreply 53September 26, 2023 10:39 AM

She seems to be a female equivalent of the "best little boy" gay personality. A Horatio Alger type - young man from the provinces. A genuine bootstrapper. She's very measured because she's faking it until she makes it and she's not that intelligent and not that well educated but she's not dumb. She has read books and paid attention in college. Unfortunately, she was born with the REFUG mind set. Is she also "Christian"? There is a bumbling and naive hopefulness and do-gooder ethics sustaining her faith that it just takes some good people in "her part" of the GOP to turn things around. To put things right and good for America. blah blah blah blah.

"You look like a rube. A well scrubbed, hustling rube with a little taste. Good nutrition's given you some length of bone, but you're not more than one generation from poor white trash, are you, Agent Starling?"

by Anonymousreply 54September 26, 2023 10:58 AM

She's probably a Liz Cheney-Republican. She thinks it's all just a phase and the minute Donald Trump is out, everything will fall back into place. Unfortunately that's not the case: Trump is just a symptom and when he's gone, other authoritarians Ă  la DeSantis (except DeSantis himself because Mr. Governor sure is toast) are going to come out. Basically today the GOP is MAGA is the GQP. That GOP cannot stop running even further to the right where being cruel, racist, sexist, homophobic, fascist, anti-American, and pro-Russia is virtue signaling for the base.

by Anonymousreply 55September 26, 2023 11:15 AM

Her cutting dismissal of Gaetz --after he publicly admitted he thirsted after her by claiming they "dated"-- is good enough for me to be a fan.

I hope her book humiliates him (and other Trumpers) further and I am grateful to her that she is willing to endure additional vitriol and threats of rape and death the MAGAts are sending her for standing up for our democracy.

by Anonymousreply 56September 26, 2023 11:21 AM

My partner and I are going out to each buy a copy of her book today. If it’s as good as we hope, we’ll then order copies for his right-wing family members who voted for Trump in ‘16 and might be wavering now.

After Meadows’ office became smoky before a meeting, former GOP Rep. Devin Nunes asked Hutchinson, “How often is he burning papers?” When Meadows’ wife came to help pack his office in January 2021, she pleaded to Hutchinson, “Mark doesn’t need to burn anything else. by Anonymousreply 61September 26, 2023 1:16 PM

She must have been really nervous on Maddow's show last night. She seemed terrified for whatever reason. She seemed much more articulate and comfortable at the January 6 hearings. If she did "date" and/or fuck Matt Gaetz? That would make her a nasty skank end of story.

by Anonymousreply 62September 26, 2023 1:41 PM

Terrified for whatever reason? Are you kidding me? How about being murdered by a Trumptard? Sued for a gizillion dollars? Stalked by Matt Gaetz? This was her FIRST live interview since her testimony 15 months ago. She couldn't go home for months afterwards. She was behind on her rent and I think even her father was a deplorable and didn't help her.

She was a direct witness to discussions about how to overthrow the government and people are talking about hair/make up and if she gained 15 pounds. Ok yeah, she could use a gay bff but let's focus on the content.

I don't think a lot of people realize the hell that MAGAts gleefully inflict. Constant threats of violence and death, endless doxxing and other harassment, going after family members and friends. There's a reason Mitt Romney pays nearly $2 million a year on security for him and his family following his vote to impeach Trump.

As Juliette Kayyem wrote in the Atlantic:

"Trump's real, enduring legacy is his successful introduction of violence, the threat of violence, and targeted harassment into the dynamics of our political system, as if they were just a natural extension of democratic disagreement."

by Anonymousreply 65September 26, 2023 2:54 PM

Where was Hope Hicks who had the office next to Trump? With all the naming names and who was running around to which office she never seems to be mentioned. And no one in the media ever asks, why is that?

by Anonymousreply 69September 26, 2023 3:34 PM

Agreeing that the fact she remains a Republican is gross considering what she's been through, I still have no problem whatsoever giving her all the props in the world for providing first-hand testimony that immeasurably bolstered the January 6 committee's findings. Yeah, she had guts and acted heroically. So to those who say "fuck her," I would say: Would you prefer not have had her testimony?

And she's in no way dumb. She was 24 at the time when all the shit went down. She's 27 now, poised, calm, and collected. I hope she makes a killing on her book.

And to the poster above who cunted demurely, "Did she put on weight?" and then denied he was being critical, I say, Mary...🙄

What Federal crimes has the gyno's son been convicted of?

Don't these people get that a pardon from Trump is as much of a stain on their reputations as being convicted of a felony?

I just downloaded it from the local library. I’m surprised that it wasn’t waitlisted. I live in a very blue region of a purple state and have usually waited for at least six months for this type of book, granted those were audio books for boring commutes. This is the book.

Anyway. I’ve finished the opening chapters re her growing up in New Jersey. She had help with the writing but it’s not very well written. It’s not -bad- just that I can’t get a real sense of what her life was like. Her family moved a lot, her father mistrusted the government and doctors, was domineering and told her she needed to be a “warrior”. Her mother held the family together and eventually divorced him. Her aunt’s husband was a policeman and then in the military and seems like he was the real inspiration for her ambition. So far she knows she wants to work “for the government in DC” because it’s her “patriotic duty” but there’s no mention of helping people. Just that it’s patriotic to work for the government.

by Anonymousreply 75September 26, 2023 6:38 PM

Hope Hicks’ office was regular referred to as “the Tarantula Arms”.

by Anonymousreply 76September 26, 2023 6:47 PM

There’s a scene in Cassidy’s book where she submits to giving Gaetz and handjob and she says “I gave his micro-penis one stroke, he ejaculated and I collapsed into hysterical laughter on the floor until he quickly left. Kevin McCarthy yelled out the window from his cabin next door, “It’s like milking a cow! Just one squirt! He won’t bother you again. Good night, Cassie!”

by Anonymousreply 83September 27, 2023 4:31 AM

Cassidy, you are fortunate to have only received a groping from Rudy. He farted on me and gave me covid!

by Anonymousreply 84September 27, 2023 4:46 AM

Cone on, tell us r80. Or else quit trying to spread bs.

Cassidy seems like she’s been indoctrinated by the GOP machine since birth. It will take her a while to wake up but she will. There’s a reason she went on Maddow.

by Anonymousreply 85September 27, 2023 5:45 AM

Well, in fairness to her, she’s described herself as a “Reagan Republican” and compared herself to Mitt Romney’s conservatism. So she’s basically a Never Trumper, though they are not a monolith and not all Never Trumpers pine for the days of Ronald Reagan. They’re a disingenuous sort. They can’t quite admit how it was decades of the GOP machinations that lead to Trump and that their party was an empty shell ready for takeover by someone like Trump.

She’s like a “traditional” Conservative. Not MAGA. But how she can align herself with even a non-existent, defunct party is beyond me. And why she then choose Maddow over even something like PBS News Hour or even 60 Minutes, doesn’t make a lot of political sense. She sort of treated Maddow like a fellow conservative with all her “it’s an honour to be here” remarks.

I don’t really understand how someone with her background could be any brand of Conservative.

by Anonymousreply 86September 27, 2023 8:45 AM

Like most conservative women, she has obvious daddy issues, R86. Women with daddy issues tend to go Republican and tend to go Trump. At least she woke up and rejected the latter. It took seeing his psychopathy up close but she woke up.

by Anonymousreply 87September 27, 2023 10:42 AM

by Anonymousreply 93September 27, 2023 12:52 PM

Good for Cassidy for speaking out. She is doing a great service. and comes across as honest. I don't know what led her to work in the trump administration but she's following her own life path. Good for her for not following trump into the pits of hell. Like R88 said, she's continuing to evolve.

I worked in an exciting industry for a horrible boss. It's hard to get the courage to step away but in testifying, at least she knew she was on the right side of the law.

by Anonymousreply 96September 27, 2023 5:14 PM

No matter what, she is young and was corageous to come out like she did because she knew what was going on in the inside and how it would affect her once she came out. She's a Jersey girl so I can assume she was raised with some decent ethics. She may not have been able to tell in the early days what was going on because she was too close to it but of all of them this is the one I give the most credit to. There hasn't been a peep from any of the Southern women.

Do we think Kimmie's gyno was mixed up in some bad shit like peddling drugs to the Dumps? What could the reason be for the pardon request? Does Cassidy say anything in the book about the reason why?

And you think only a lesbian wouldn't date Matt Gaetz???

Jesus, R100 -- would YOU date him?

by Anonymousreply 101September 27, 2023 8:00 PM

So I'm watching her on Nicolle Wallace's show--Cassidy seems to be all about the DRAMA! I'm glad she spoke up, but she seems exhausting.

by Anonymousreply 102September 27, 2023 9:13 PM

What the actual fuck?? Chanting hang, hang, hang? And then he sent the Tweet about Pence to inflame the crowd.

-According to an extract of Hutchinson's new book, read out during The Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC, Trump repeatedly said "hang" while he was watching the January 6 attack on television in the White House.

Rachel read it but didn't ask her about it.

by Anonymousreply 103September 27, 2023 9:18 PM

Why do so many people, like this woman, pronounce “important” as “im-por-tant”?

by Anonymousreply 104September 27, 2023 9:47 PM

Mark Salter, John McCain’s longtime wordsmith, co-wrote this book. Likely, he wrote most of it.

by Anonymousreply 105September 27, 2023 9:52 PM

R104 - It’s not important.

by Anonymousreply 108September 28, 2023 5:55 AM

For those who read the book, a review of the book treated in typical snarky datalounge tone would be greatly appreciated: you know, something with sex, amorality, betrayals, sex, Lindseybelles, pussies smeared with orange makeup, brown noses, ketchup ballistics, sex. Oh but reviewers... With lovely shoes.

by Anonymousreply 109September 28, 2023 7:46 AM

Have Cassidy replace Caitlynn Collins on CNN

by Anonymousreply 110September 28, 2023 9:49 AM

In all of the TV interviews I've seen, Cassidy adoringly credited her co-writer Mark Salter, saying she never could have written the book without him and that he literally pulled her story out of her (I'm paraphrasing!). She's coming off extremely well. I was a huge admirer and now even more so.

She is very clearly still learning and evolving and her candid honesty is so refreshing.

by Anonymousreply 111September 28, 2023 9:53 AM

I’m now at the part where she is working in the OLA as a liaison between the House, Senate, and the White House. She started right after graduation in 2017 and she’d been interning every summer. It’s a networking kind of position and she was good at it, made a point of knowing everyone’s names, background, birthdays, kids names. Lots of emails to Republicans with talking points. Worked long hours.

But it’s weird. She’s already been through Trump’s first impeachment. She disagreed because it was “just politics” to hold up Ukrainian aid and hindsight alert! It trivialized the impeachment process for future presidents. iDespite being so involved in day to day legislation, she doesn’t voice much opinion on it. It’s like the process is the most important thing. It’s strangely detached. I’m not even a quarter of the way through and it’s early 2020.

by Anonymousreply 112September 28, 2023 1:39 PM

What was the issue with the bio father? Is she estranged from him? I read an excerpt about visiting home before the public hearing to let her parents know the hammer was going to drop. She referred to her stepfather as "dad" a couple of times.

by Anonymousreply 113September 28, 2023 2:07 PM

R104, it’s worse when people say “im-por-dent”. That really grates.

by Anonymousreply 114September 29, 2023 2:59 AM

I can’t stand Kaitlyn Collins’ man brow.

by Anonymousreply 115September 29, 2023 3:00 AM

R114 That pronunciation makes my ears bleed. I can’t listen to Karina Longworth because of it.

by Anonymousreply 116September 29, 2023 4:37 AM

I know 2 people (father, daughter) who pronounce it, "Im-porT-TANT", with emphasis on the Ts. It irritates me to no end.

This was written with hindsight of course, but her father loved watching The Apprentice and believed that Trump was a billionaire businessman who started from scratch.

by Anonymousreply 124September 29, 2023 11:48 PM

Gaetz says that he dated Hutchinson for "a few weeks", that is how girls talk. This guy doesn't get dates.

by Anonymousreply 125September 29, 2023 11:49 PM

by Anonymousreply 126September 30, 2023 12:08 AM

by Anonymousreply 127September 30, 2023 5:09 AM

by Anonymousreply 128September 30, 2023 6:01 AM

That writers strike back then gave us a President rump, that reality show raised its profile and portrayed him as a "savvy businessman"

R166, And you’re okay with championing and defending someone who not only worked for but admittedly admired someone as loathsome as Donald Trump even after the Insurrection of January 6th?

The last is growing of those who embraced Trump while he was President, but then made180 degree turns to save their careers and are now profiting from their gross errors in judgment by writing books.

by Anonymousreply 167October 1, 2023 3:41 PM

Cassidy didn't testify to "save her career, r167. She did so at great personal cost. But continue to be simplistic.

by Anonymousreply 168October 1, 2023 3:58 PM

R168, You’re so wrong. She’s young. She has years of career ahead of her. She turned on Trump strictly to save her future career. She had to in order to remove the stench of Trump.

by Anonymousreply 169October 1, 2023 4:07 PM

She could be a Russian asset. Think about it. The aim of Russia is to cause dissent, confusion, mistrust among people in the US. So they wouldn’t just be putting people in Trump’s camp. They’d have people in Trump’s camp muddy the waters. I liked him, then I didn’t like him. He did good things, but he has bad qualities. No democrats have ever treated me as badly as republicans, but I could never be a democrat. I’m going to stay Republican despite all the lies, sexual assault, backstabbing, colluding with foreign powers. I’ll still vote for republicans.

“I’m not surprised at all. Matt is an unserious politician, and that’s something that a lot of House Republicans and frankly House Democrats have recognized for a very long time. Matt is in office for himself. Matt is more concerned about getting sound bites and about making an image for himself than he is about passing effective policy,” Hutchinson said. “We see that with what’s playing out on the Hill right now. He is single-handedly uprooting the Republican Party, which is already hanging on by a thread. And this is just — it’s a symptom of the greater problem with the Republican Party right now too. We need to focus on electing effective leaders to Congress, and not people like Matt Gaetz who are willing to hold government funding hostage because of a personal qualm he has with the Speaker of the House.”

She's not too far removed from the mundfuck that is the MAGAt movement and Trump's White House. It takes time for people to understand and gain insight when in environments organized around a sociopathic narcissist. She seems like a good candidate for therapy, especially with the father issues

You cannot say that about those under indictment or cooperating witnesses even. That crew is too far gone in so many ways, much like the deplorable cult.
