She is beyond obnoxious and Beanie Feldstein played her in an autobiographical movie, enough said. The ultimate British Hag Frau.
Is she still pretending her kids take over her Twitter account? That was especially cringe-inducing.

In 2020 Caitlin Moran wrote her column in the Sunday Times about how easy isolation and home schooling was, and someone in Twitter grassed on her attending a neighbour’s BBQ during lockdown.

I’m glad I’m not on Twitter, because the child takeover thing would have annoyed the shit out of me, but since I didn’t see that, I confess I like Caitlin Moran. She is the oldest of a bohemian family of British homeschoolers and somehow ended up a music journalist as a teenager. She wrote an entertaining memoir, a decently entertaining novel that is pretty much exactly like the memoir, and a series of uneven essays about feminism, some more credible than others. She portrays her younger self (and her fictional character modeled on her younger self) as optimistic, enthusiastic, and willing to take on challenges with a homeschooler’s total lack of self-consciousness. Beanie Feldstein wasn’t the right choice to play her for multiple reasons (the main ones being she’s not British and way too tense), but Moran has a certain charm about her. I like this early clip in which she gets a laugh out of Björk. (Right after they shake hands, about two thirds of the way in.)
