Hi! How are you?! So good to see you!!! - Fake Ass Behavior in the workplace on the rise

Why do we have to act like smiley face clowns in business now? It’s ridiculous.

by Anonymousreply 9September 23, 2023 9:51 PM

Two faced phonies have always been there. I’ve been working for 32 years.

Women in the workplace, it made it much worse than it ever was before. In the past people actually meant what they said most of the time. Now it truly is fake.

Why not be cordial to your coworkers and greet them, once, in the morning?

I'd rather deal with this kind of cheerful veneer than deal someone who is bitchy and bringing their drama to the workplace.

That said, there is some middle ground.

I'm with R3. Just say "Fine, thanks" (even if you don't mean it) and keep moving. You don't have to be, or pretend to be, their new best friend. Cordiality is social lubricant.

Nobody who asks you how you are expect you to tell them. It's a form of greeting and civil courtesy.

"Your face is a company face. It smiles at executives then goes back in place."

by Anonymousreply 6September 23, 2023 9:05 PM

OP shut yo stankin ass up. You don’t have to operate like this. Stop that lying.

by Anonymousreply 7September 23, 2023 9:07 PM

Be fake. Your natural self is not worth knowing

by Anonymousreply 8September 23, 2023 9:43 PM

I’m the epitome of a fake co-worker. Just sayin’
