5 Card Stud - Gay Agatha Christie Western

Is anyone else a fan of this? I saw it when younger and was fascinated by the Agatha Christie motif of everyone in a game of poker being killed one by one. But i saw it this week and was suprised by the blatant homoerotic subtext. All the murders are by asphyxiation and most scenes seem like a beginning of a gay porn scene. Mostly from Roddy Mcdwall, but even Dean Martin and Robert Mitchum have some latent attraction going.

It has also the worse and least sexual heterosexual kisses going on. Why is this discussed more often or did i miss it.

It looks boring. Poor Inger.

It has a very funny peculiarity. Repeatedly cast members will be talking in a scene and up walks Robert Mitchum who delivers his one line, then just turns around and walks off.

I think it's that I'm not fond of westerns.

Did you mean to type: "Why is this NOT discussed more often or did i miss it"?

Who should be discussing it?

Yesr4, that was what i mean, sorry. As for why, it is a later western movie with well known actors with a lot of gay subtext. It is a strange movie.

I just love Roddy McDowell. No matter how dull a movie is- and this one is very dull, - I still enjoy watching him act. Although I will never forgive him not releasing his autobiography until decades after my death. Why, Roddy? How could you do this to us?

We were shown this movie in the campus theater at the country club mental institution I was at in the early 1980s. Hilariously, only the gay patients didn’t walk out on it. My roommate promised he would be rubbing one out to thoughts of Robert Mitchum in his leather cowboy getup.
