‘All Of Us Strangers’ trailer is here!

I’m shaking and crying. I can’t wait to watch this movie starring one of the greatest actors of his time, our dear Paul. Beauty and talent. He has it all.

by Anonymousreply 110November 28, 2023 8:39 AM

That does look good!

by Anonymousreply 1September 21, 2023 1:13 PM

The trailer made me teary eyed lol

by Anonymousreply 2September 21, 2023 1:19 PM

Now that is a quality trailer. Still wishing Bailey got Mescal's role and I'm not the biggest Jamie Bell fan either, but I'm gonna watch this one for sure.

by Anonymousreply 3September 21, 2023 1:20 PM

Bailey was never up for the part. You’re wishing for something that was never the case. Move on.

by Anonymousreply 4September 21, 2023 1:22 PM

R4 mic drop.

Paul Mescal didn’t have to audition for the part. It was offered to him because of his beautiful work in Normal People. Haigh wanted to work with him. That poster is wishing for something that was never even in consideration

by Anonymousreply 5September 21, 2023 1:24 PM

He’s not my dear Paul.

by Anonymousreply 6September 21, 2023 1:28 PM

Not to mention, Bailey isn’t a better actor than Paul Mescal.

by Anonymousreply 7September 21, 2023 1:35 PM

This looks like it will be a good movie, especially to bring a date to. I plan on watching it this December.

by Anonymousreply 8September 21, 2023 1:45 PM

PaulMescallover uses chloroform on people that PaulMescallover doesn’t like and stealth to sneak into my house while I’m asleep to experiment on me. PaulMescallover also planted cameras to watch my every move and hire people to follow and keep a close watch on me wherever I go. PaulMescallover also plants devices in my ear and under the skin and some may even be directly on my brain. PaulMescallover shot it into my skull from a distance to keep it covert. They are small enough to where you only hear a pop and feel a small sting while you’re asleep. PaulMescallover communicates to me through the devices PaulMescallover planted in me and because no one really understands it or are afraid of it, PaulMescallover diagnosed this targeted individual with schizophrenia and gives false checkups and xrays to hide it

by Anonymousreply 9September 21, 2023 1:47 PM

[quote]Bailey isn’t a better actor than Paul Mescal.

I'm not necessarily a good judge of who's the better actor, but I do know who I'd rather look at and listen to for two hours, and it ain't OP's Paul Mescal.

by Anonymousreply 10September 21, 2023 1:51 PM

by Anonymousreply 11September 21, 2023 1:56 PM

Looks meh.

by Anonymousreply 12September 21, 2023 1:58 PM

R10 well, directors like Haigh are a good judge and cast Mescal without an audition. Bailey is cast in roles for streaming movies and streaming series. Mescal is cast in indie films that go to theaters. One is about talent and playing interesting roles. The other is about chasing fame.

by Anonymousreply 13September 21, 2023 1:59 PM

Scott really is one of the greatest actors out there. But I don't think this film will make him a household name as it should be. I don't give a shit about Paul Whatshisname.

by Anonymousreply 14September 21, 2023 2:20 PM

Paul Mescal has been building quite the resume for himself. His acting career has been very impressive so far.

by Anonymousreply 15September 21, 2023 2:21 PM

Paul is rather unfortunate looking.

by Anonymousreply 16September 21, 2023 2:23 PM

R14 it’s a small indie flick. They aren’t meant to make household names. As most critics have said, it’s a film for film lovers but not the average film watcher. This isn’t a mainstream film and your average movie watcher won’t appreciate a film like this, and won’t watch it to begin with.

by Anonymousreply 17September 21, 2023 2:24 PM

R16 disagree. I think he’s handsome.

by Anonymousreply 18September 21, 2023 2:24 PM

That really is a good trailer.

by Anonymousreply 23September 21, 2023 8:13 PM

I was hoping Billy Eichner was one of the leads

by Anonymousreply 24September 21, 2023 8:27 PM

Every time I hear the Pet Shop Boys version of that song I get happy and slightly emotional. This movie is gonna be great

by Anonymousreply 25September 21, 2023 11:33 PM

I do not know if I can wait a few more months to watch this. It looks so good.

by Anonymousreply 26September 22, 2023 2:36 AM

I have to admit, the Paul Mescal troll notwithstanding, that trailer looks really good.

I really like Andrew Scott, as well. They're both superb actors.

by Anonymousreply 27September 24, 2023 1:54 AM

Also, I like the version of Always on My Mind that's playing in the background. It's different from the standard Pet Shop Boys version.

by Anonymousreply 31September 24, 2023 2:12 AM

R28 buddy, it’s Pet Shop Boys. They just updated the sound quality but it’s literally their version. Why are you always so embarrassing?

by Anonymousreply 32September 24, 2023 2:31 AM

[quote][R28] it’s literally the Pet Shop Boys

Obviously, it's the Pet Shop Boys -which is why I said, it's the Pet Shop Boys,

[quote][R28] buddy, it’s Pet Shop Boys. They just updated the sound quality but it’s literally their version. Why are you always so embarrassing

And no, it's not the standard version or the remastered version. It's been remixed with the background behind "Maybe I didn't treat you / Quite as good as I should" simplified. The tempo has also been slowed to give it a more more lyrical quality. It doesn't revert to the standard version until "Tell me, tell me that your sweet love hasn't died."

Of course, I know it's not a "new" version, simply a remix of the original.

I love that song and have listened to it uncountable numbers of times, so slight changes stand out.

by Anonymousreply 33September 24, 2023 3:12 AM

I’m going to see this at the nyff early november. I’m a plus one - had no clue about the content. I thought it was some arty crap about pygmies or something. I wonder if there’s frontal?

by Anonymousreply 34September 24, 2023 3:12 AM

[quote]I’m shaking and crying.

You should talk to your pharmacist.

by Anonymousreply 35September 24, 2023 3:17 AM

Wow. That looks really great. I love Andrew Scott - could take or leave Paul Mescal (sorry DL Paul Mescal fan).

Looking forward to seeing it.

by Anonymousreply 36September 24, 2023 3:36 AM

R34 I’m almost certain no one going to NYFF is going for possible nudity. It’s a place for critics, actors, filmmakers and movie fanatics.

Also how are you going in November when it’s the last week of September into the first week of October? And NYFF doesn’t do plus ones.

by Anonymousreply 37September 24, 2023 3:46 AM

R34 I think you should have at least looked up the NYFF dates before lying. And they don’t do plus ones. You have to buy the tickets and depending on how many tickets you buy (there are different tiers) you have to then try to get in to whatever movie you wanna see. It’s hard for movies a lot of people wanna see. Many people end up not getting to see it because it “sells out” fast.

by Anonymousreply 38September 24, 2023 3:50 AM

R34 sorry forgot to link it.

Just saw it at the nyff. What do you want to know? I liked it but wasn’t moved. . Paul dude is cute - you see his ass. The lead isn’t cute. There’s a sex scene.

by Anonymousreply 40October 2, 2023 12:38 AM

R40 is lying

by Anonymousreply 41October 2, 2023 12:39 AM

R40 tell me about the Q&A….

by Anonymousreply 42October 2, 2023 12:41 AM

It was screened tonight at NYFF61.

Here's a tweet by Mark Harris (husband of Tony Kushner):

[quote] Just saw Andrew Haigh's All of Us Strangers and I think it's his best film. I did not cry because I am a monster but boy, #NYFF61 was awash. I admired and was very moved by this meditation on gay loneliness and connection, and how processing early loss is a lifetime's work.

by Anonymousreply 43October 2, 2023 12:54 AM

It was screened at 6pm tonight. Yes. But that poster surely wasn’t there.

What was the Q&A about?

by Anonymousreply 44October 2, 2023 1:04 AM

Tell you about the q&a? They talked about the difference of book to film. Why wouldn’t i’ve gone to the film? Followed it up with poor things - emma stone & mark ruffalo were great. I’ll ruin the strangers film for you: parents & boyfriend are dead. Parents fade away , ghost boyfriend stays.

by Anonymousreply 45October 2, 2023 3:22 AM

Poor things is frankeinstein with emma. For awhile she’s a whore - i thought of the b film frankenhooker. Emma shows loads of tit. Some bush. Penis or two. It was too long & often funny

by Anonymousreply 46October 2, 2023 3:32 AM

I thought his frankie goes to hollywood /power of love was a atrange choice… since he had erasure mother ghost has an issue with her son’s sexuality but all is made ok by singing pet shop boys. The dead boyfriend drinks himself to death. There’s a lot of time on a train between his place & his parents. Dead boyfriend comes for a trip. They go clubbing. Ghost dad jokes about his sports ability.

by Anonymousreply 47October 2, 2023 3:48 AM

R4 😂. Tell that ho. You low key growing on me.

by Anonymousreply 48October 2, 2023 4:09 AM

R45 because you’re not posting from NY. You’re lying. You also claimed you were someone’s plus one in November and after I personally linked the actual NYFF dates to you it’s suddenly you saw it on a night it was based on standby. People who spent the $150+ for NYFF had to stand on line and wait to get a seat. There were people on line for 12+ hours.

by Anonymousreply 49October 2, 2023 9:11 AM

Shaking and crying? I bet you are.

by Anonymousreply 50October 2, 2023 10:07 AM

R49 Are you 12? Move on, dude.

by Anonymousreply 51October 2, 2023 10:12 AM

R51 12 is the loser lying. Always lying

by Anonymousreply 52October 2, 2023 11:42 AM

I don’t live in NYC? What batshit crazy are you? West village baby. Unless we’re out at our house in the country. All things I’ve written about. just spilled everything from the movie - and poor things- but that isn’t good enough for you? This week was also the opening of the opera (saw dead man waLking) the people that don’’t have tixkets wait in line. I’m never that person. R49. The director of strangers was introduced before & after the showing. His first time there. R49. Wait in line for tickets! Lol.

by Anonymousreply 53October 2, 2023 11:51 AM

R53 mmmhmmmm. Only you’re lying. Just give it up. And get a job.

by Anonymousreply 54October 2, 2023 5:48 PM

[quote] Paul Mescal didn’t have to audition for the part. It was offered to him because of his beautiful work in Normal People. Haigh wanted to work with him. That poster is wishing for something that was never even in consideration

I thought it was because he let the producers breed him. No?

by Anonymousreply 55October 2, 2023 6:44 PM

I’m Moaning and Groaning as I type this!

by Anonymousreply 56October 2, 2023 6:46 PM

Trailer looks fantastic.

by Anonymousreply 57October 2, 2023 6:57 PM

😂 You cunts are in rare form. The argument at the end of this thread is epic and hilarious. He told that ho to give it up and get a job. How you know that man don’t work. This is fkin hilarious.

[quote]'All of Us Strangers' Review: Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal Are Perfect

OMG! I'm shaking and crying!!

by Anonymousreply 73October 9, 2023 2:03 AM

Some Letterboxd.com commentators were at London Film Festival 2023 and saw AOUS. Here are some of their comments. (I didn't include any negative comments, which were fairly few anyway.)

[quote] Andrew Scott ruining my life, one scene at a time.

[quote] Picking a favourite seems cruel when all four actors are so great, but I think Andrew Scott and Claire Foy are really special. Seeing compassion rendered so plainly but so strongly will always make me cry.

[quote] Maybe one of the most startling and honest depictions of queer loneliness I have ever seen? I cried throughout the entire film. Paul mescal stars in the best film of the year two years in a row.

[quote] Rips your heart out, deep fries it and then feeds it back to you, and somehow expects you to continue your day as a normal human. Every film should feature Paul and Andrew as a couple, we need more of that in this life.

[quote] I was crying so hard the guy next to me asked if I was ok. Then I kept crying outside the screen and all the film bros saw me. Then I stood outside and had a cigarette and cried. Kill me.

[quote] In a perfect world Andrew Scott sweeps awards season. A crowning performance.

[quote] Paul Mescal’s big ass thighs 🥵

[quote] Haunting. Beautiful. Emotionally shattering. Masterpiece. Masterpiece. Masterpiece.

[quote] We should talk about (the scene featuring) the absolutely psychopath behaviour of putting the milk in before the tea. What the fuck was that seriously.

by Anonymousreply 74October 9, 2023 2:07 AM

R74 aren’t you the poster who shits on Mescal?

by Anonymousreply 75October 9, 2023 9:17 AM

Why is the person who likes to attack our dear Paul’s looks and talent all over this thread? You say Aftersun sucked and his performance was overrated (most would disagree) so why do you care about this one? This is another tiny, quiet indie flick. Almost everyone says if you liked Aftersun you will like this and if you didn’t like that one you won’t appreciate this.

by Anonymousreply 76October 9, 2023 1:29 PM

[quote]Why is the person who likes to attack our dear Paul’s looks and talent all over this thread?

Probably because he hates the way you refer to him as "our dear Paul."

by Anonymousreply 77October 9, 2023 9:01 PM

Andrew Scott is 19 years older than Paul but still looks much hotter. Hopefully he gave dear Paul advice on using some moisturiser.

by Anonymousreply 78October 9, 2023 9:23 PM

R47, is there also an element of schizophrenia involved? What is the final shot?

by Anonymousreply 79October 14, 2023 3:02 AM

R79 r47 didn’t watch the movie. He copied and pasted from somewhere. I know exactly where too because I saw someone explaining this online. Jesus. What a joke of a human.

by Anonymousreply 80October 14, 2023 3:10 AM

Is it pirate streaming somewhere? I’ve looked but can’t find it.

by Anonymousreply 81October 14, 2023 9:39 AM

No because it’s only played at film festivals which are heavily monitored. It comes out in December.

by Anonymousreply 82October 14, 2023 9:41 AM

Paul took that role from a gay actor!

by Anonymousreply 83October 14, 2023 9:54 AM

I saw it last night. Hauntingly beautiful. Andrew Scott is just fantastic. I’ve never liked Mescal but I managed to get past that easily. And I adored the soundtrack.

by Anonymousreply 84October 16, 2023 12:30 AM

R84 you claimed you watched it last week.

by Anonymousreply 85October 16, 2023 12:32 AM

No I didn’t ffs

by Anonymousreply 86October 17, 2023 8:39 PM

R79. He’s in bed with the dead boyfriend. I guess it’s a happy ending - if happy endings are having a relationship with a ghost. (Eye roll) 2023 and we’re dealling with dead ghost boyfriends & coming out to dead parents. Whatever.

by Anonymousreply 87October 18, 2023 3:06 PM

R87 stop speaking about a film you never watched.

by Anonymousreply 88October 18, 2023 6:12 PM

I hate it and I’ve never seen it. Blame PML.

by Anonymousreply 89October 19, 2023 12:03 AM

I didn't like Ghost. I think I'm going to give this a hard pass.

by Anonymousreply 90October 19, 2023 1:54 PM

More scenes included in this featurette for the film plus some very brief actor comments.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 91October 27, 2023 5:48 AM

I saw it yesterday (my friend is a critic and has all the screeners). Absolutely incredible. One of the comments upthread it’s almost cruel to try and pick who is the best in show because the four main actors are all so good, BUT, for me, Andrew Scott and Claire Foy deliver career/defining performances that I am still gutted and haunted by a day later. Andrew Scott should win for this.

by Anonymousreply 92November 26, 2023 6:07 PM

r92 Does it really shit the bed with the ending?

by Anonymousreply 93November 26, 2023 6:09 PM

R92 is lying. I hope you all know.

by Anonymousreply 94November 26, 2023 6:17 PM

This is my first time posting in this thread, you idiotic cunt. And I am not lying. I saw it yesterday and also watched American Fiction and Poor Things.

by Anonymousreply 95November 26, 2023 6:19 PM

R95 yes. You’re lying. Enough. Is. Enough.

by Anonymousreply 96November 26, 2023 6:21 PM

You are pathetic, OP.

by Anonymousreply 97November 26, 2023 7:15 PM

R97 they aren’t as pathetic as you. That’s for sure.

by Anonymousreply 98November 26, 2023 7:16 PM

You’re insane, R96. I have no reason to lie about seeing a movie. Check and you can see that that was my first post in this thread. Yes, I’ve seen it and can tell and spoil everything in order to prove that I did but I won’t because I’m not a psycho or a cunt like you.

by Anonymousreply 99November 26, 2023 7:18 PM

R99 only you are lying. You have no reason to lie about all the shit you lie about on a daily basis, yet you do it.

by Anonymousreply 100November 26, 2023 7:19 PM

R99 I believe you. What did you think of Poor Things, and Stone in particular?

by Anonymousreply 101November 27, 2023 2:32 AM

R101 it’s a LIE

by Anonymousreply 102November 27, 2023 2:34 AM

R102 wah

by Anonymousreply 103November 27, 2023 2:49 AM

R102 since you're the same idiot who told me I'm not British despite me actually being British I'm afraid I can't believe you. You constantly attack other people because of, well, your own reasons. You pulled this shit in other threads too, arguing black is white. And yes it is 3:50am here in the UK.

by Anonymousreply 104November 27, 2023 2:52 AM

R104 but you aren’t. And you lie too much.

by Anonymousreply 105November 27, 2023 3:08 AM
