Adderall shortages worsen with no end in sight

I ran out of my supply two weeks ago and its really affecting me negatively. I joke about being like Neely O'Hara, but its not fun to go through. I get very sluggish and cotton-headed in the late morning and cant finish basic tasks like

Boo hoo—a bunch of overmedicated pussies. The special ed classes are over in building 2.

by Anonymousreply 1September 21, 2023 12:11 AM

Is this a trumped up shortage just for Americans? There seems to be no shortage in the EU.

by Anonymousreply 2September 21, 2023 12:15 AM

Maybe it’s all up Trump’s nose.

by Anonymousreply 3September 21, 2023 12:17 AM

That old coot was snorting cold medicine.

by Anonymousreply 4September 21, 2023 12:19 AM

There is no reason for any drug shortages.

Pharmaceutical companies are making billions in profit every year. They have more than enough money to build more factories and hire more workers. They prefer to buy back their own stock to artificially raise investor profit. The government can easily change this by writing regulations saying companies can’t buy their own stock if they are failing to provide necessary service to the well-being of the nation.

by Anonymousreply 5September 21, 2023 12:30 AM

Will someone summarize? I didn’t finish reading the article.

by Anonymousreply 6September 21, 2023 12:32 AM

R5 basically did, R6

R6, because Adderall is a schedule 4 drug, manufacturers are allowed to make only so much of it. When demand goes up, there’s not enough to go around.

by Anonymousreply 8September 21, 2023 2:37 AM

r8 Numerous other factors at play here

by Anonymousreply 9September 21, 2023 2:38 AM

Adder all is Schedule II.

by Anonymousreply 10September 21, 2023 10:34 PM

I’m on Vyvanse. He’ll, yeah!

by Anonymousreply 11September 21, 2023 10:35 PM

R10, yes, I was wrong, but it is true that there are production limits. Pharmacies also have caps on how much they can order.

Just get some meth, silly!

Just kidding. ahem

by Anonymousreply 13September 21, 2023 10:49 PM

As a restricted drug, the authority drs seek permission from to prescribe for each patient would surely keep the companies involved informed with how many people are using it and how much they use? And then there's the demand from the actual pharmacies.

There's been an enormous explosion in people using it for ADHD. Nobody in a position to ensure continuous supply couldn't have seen there was a risk of demand exceeding supply?

by Anonymousreply 14September 21, 2023 11:07 PM

Black Adder all scheduled at 2.00.

by Anonymousreply 15September 21, 2023 11:09 PM

Say VYVANSE

Say VYVANSE

Say VYVANSE

by Anonymousreply 16September 21, 2023 11:34 PM

I always weep when Vader and Grand Moff Tarkin deploy the Death Star to destroy Leia’s home world of Adderall in the original ‘Star Wars’.

by Anonymousreply 17September 22, 2023 12:45 AM

Trump has hoarded up all of the Adderall since he's running again.

by Anonymousreply 18September 22, 2023 12:48 AM

Apparently there’s a vyvanse - and the new generic version - shortage as well. I’ll find out when I go to fill my rx next week.

by Anonymousreply 19September 22, 2023 12:49 AM

Adderall is great fun, but it's a drug that everyone can live without. ADHD is the silliest 'condition' out there. I can't imagine people in other First World countries act as if access to Adderall is a life and death matter.

by Anonymousreply 20September 22, 2023 12:49 AM

A straight friend of my brother is fucking a married woman half his age in exchange for Adderall. Apparently, a local physician will give out prescriptions easily if you pay cash. She has her own prescription, but is already taking the maximum dose allowed legally. He fills another maximum dose. This woman is 120 pounds, and is taking more than double the legal limit. The real issue is that she will take 5-6 pills in one day sometimes. She is a stay at home wife and bored, She also drinks 1-2 bottles of wine every night. She isn’t going to live long.

I think most of the world's supply is being housed in a bunker under Mar-a-Lardo.

by Anonymousreply 22September 22, 2023 2:10 AM

R20, some of us don't take it for ADHD, we take it for narcolepsy.

Get a clue, hon.

by Anonymousreply 23September 22, 2023 10:20 AM

Ask your doctor if Vivian Vance is right for you

by Anonymousreply 24September 22, 2023 10:28 AM

I wish getting Adderall was an easy feat to start off with. I'm on Medicaid so nope, no legal speed for me.

by Anonymousreply 25September 22, 2023 10:45 AM

Try it, you might like it!

by Anonymousreply 26September 22, 2023 11:32 AM

Why do young people today need so much coffee and energy drinks? None of them have fulltime jobs involving manual labor that makes them tired. Why are they so tired from sitting in front of 2 screens all day long?

by Anonymousreply 27September 22, 2023 4:57 PM

^^^Because they don't get any sleep due to all the energy drinks and coffee. Americans are horribly sleep deprived.

Younger than springtime and twice as exciting?

by Anonymousreply 29September 22, 2023 6:01 PM

Ya’ll need Vyvanse!

by Anonymousreply 30September 23, 2023 7:20 PM

Miracles do happen. My doctor got me prescription for Ritalin, 10 mg. Miraculously, the pharmacy got it filled this morning.

10 mg, but I cut then in half to make them stretch. With just 5 mg I feel 100% better and more alert.

by Anonymousreply 31September 24, 2023 4:38 AM

The drugs have turned into a crutch for so many.

It’s time to stop coddling the little hopheads.

by Anonymousreply 32September 24, 2023 5:37 AM

[quote]I think most of the world's supply is being housed in a bunker under Mar-a-Lardo.

It's being consumed by students who can't keep up with their studies.
