“E=MC2” (1986) by Big Audio Dynamite- anyone else remember this song?
It’s like a hidden song from the 80s I feel. A song that was around for a bit and then you never really heard about again. I used to love listening to this one on cassette.
This was their second single after Mick Jones of The Clash formed this new band, and I personally preferred their sound to The Clash.

Hardly...
I prefer Laura Branigan.

R4 she wouldn’t be in the same category as this. Please already.

Who the fuck would compare this to Laura Branigan?

BAD Medicine Show is a good one too with cameos from Clash members

Had the album - the Bottom Line was good too. Then they just disappeared.
The remaining members of the Clash should tour again - they'll sell out.

This is the B.A.D. song I remember the most, and I love it: "Rush"

R10 they vanished from mainstream (not that they were ever truly mainstream) but released 9 albums together and toured until 1997, which is when they broke up. In 2011 they did a small reunion tour.

The Clash without Joe Strummer would be like The Rolling Stones without Mick Jagger or Queen without Freddie Mercury. Why bother?

Queen without Freddie has been on tour for years now. Some even say they think his replacement is better.

Loved this whole album. Played the hell out of it. One of my favorites.

Huge fan - saw them live in the late 80s. Loved Medicine Show, too.

This song has been on my brain all morning. It’s just such a joyous-sounding song.

The one that starts with a sneeze, The Globe, is the one I remember most.

I can’t get it to play. Is it the song where the dude engages in a stream of consciousness rant about his girlfriend and then the chorus goes “A-E-I-O-U, Y”? If so, it is a nice song.

One of the most unique songs from the period. Unfortunately the video really is pretty lame.

Their only memorable U.S. contribution was their cover of Paula Abdul’s “Rush”.

Their album Tighten Up (Vol '88) was a favorite of mine in the early high school days and got a lot of airplay on WLIR for those who are familiar - which became WDRE. All Night Long was a good song but my favorite was Just Play Music!
