Military officers and vets have no fucks left to give; place blame squarely where it belongs: Simpleton Sportsball Coach Tuberville
Military officers begin to speak out on the harm done by Sen. Tuberville’s holds on promotions

There are approximately 900 Active-duty general/flag officers (GO/FOs) today of 1.3 million troops. This is a ratio of 1 GO/FO for every 1,400 troops. During World War II there were more than 2,000 GO/FOs for a little more than 12 million Active troops (1:6,000).
And ever flag officer needs a huge staff.

He wants a special exception for one promotion.
[quote]Sen. Tommy Tuberville privately told a group of Republican senators that he planned to circumvent his ongoing blockade of military promotions in an effort to appoint a new Marine commandant.
[quote]On Tuesday, according to The Hill, Tuberville conferred with his GOP colleagues at their weekly conference lunch about his intention to force a vote in the Senate on Wednesday in an attempt to confirm Gen. Eric Smith to head the Marine Corps.

The Senate is supposed to confirm the promotions one at a time. They’ve made the exception processing the norm, by using unanimous consent to do many at once, but they always have the power to do the promotions one at a time if Schumer would allow it.

So, it's Schumer's fault?

He is doing this to keep the positions open until after the election so that if Trump is elected he can fill the openings with loyalists and create a military loyal to him. I can guarantee Trump has requested he do this.

They can talk til they’re blue in the face. He’s not changing his tactics.

Every day he delays, more voters notice that he and the Republicans give ZERO FUCKS about our military, veterans, and their families. About keeping our Armed Forces strong enough to keep the nation safe. So, keep it up I guess. Our enemies aren't the only ones watching.

r3 You're being disingenuous, doing it that way would take approximately 700 hours of floor time. The Senate does these promotions in bulk, it's been that way for ages.

R8 I guess that's why Trump is now getting tied with Biden in the '24 polls.

So what made him change his mind?

the point is to stall so they can install fascist sympathizers in those positions under the trump administration. tuberville is a key part of the conspiracy to end democracy. trump will need a loyal military to make a legitimate pivot to christofascism.
